Come stay in our comfortable Everett Lake home! The home is large, comfortable and located on five acres with over 700 feet of lakeshore.

The cabin has three bedrooms plus a loft, sleeping up to 10. It has two fireplaces, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, large deck and great views of Everett Lake.

The home is on the Echo Trail, close to the boundary waters and to Lake Burntside. In the summer, you can canoe across Everett and short portage will take you into Twin Lakes, the Dead River and Lake Burntside. Another portage on the property will take you into beautiful Fenske Lake. There is a beaver damn on the property and other wildlife abounds in the area. Two aluminum canoes provided.

In the winter, the house is well insulated and easy to heat. Take advantage of abundant cross-country skiing and snow-mobiling on the Little Grassy Trail. Listen for wolves and if you are lucky, watch the Northern Lights.

NEW: Finnish Sauna in the basement. Relax in our traditional cedar sauna before going to bed. If you're brave - run out into the snow!

Please see our website for more photos and information.

Beautiful Echo Trail Cabin Near the Boundary Waters

Year Purchased: 2006

Why the Owner Chose Ely

Joselyn and I found ourselves returning to Ely again and again, mostly the YMCA Camp DuNord. Over the years, we started to look at properties, including another one on Everett Lake but could never find anything that was just right. Ironically, we had noticed our cabin a number of times as we drove the Echo Trail, commenting on how nice it looked. Then one day in June 2006, I was browsing the Bear Island Land Co. website and found this place for sale. Joselyn was out of town, so I called the realtor, packed his camping gear and drove up an hour later. I made an offer the next day. We haven't regretted it for a moment, and can't believe our luck to own such a place.

B
Portage to Twin Lakes

This portage is about 10 rods - very easy!

C
Portage to North Arm of Burntside

This portage is pretty long! 280 rods

D
Dead River Passage to Burntside

Beautiful paddle down the scenic Dead River to Burntside!

E
Lake trout fishing on Hanson Lake

Test your fishing skills on the wily splake trout!

Owner's Map of Ely

Sean and Joselyn met in the Bay Area, but soon after getting married, Sean managed to drag Joselyn back to his native Minnesota. As a Californian, she was skeptical at first, but fell in love with the North Woods after her first dogsledding adventure. Today they live in Minneapolis with their three wonderful kids, but get up North every chance they get.

The pictures do not give this place justice. Being there for the first week of January I was prepared for cold, one day to be 50 degrees! This is an absolutely gorgeous and secluded cabin. It was just me and my dog and we enjoyed not only the area, but the cabin/house itself. The owner is friendly and a pleasure to deal with, available for questions, and almost seems like a friend helping out a friend type of relationship. It is his family's cabin that they use, but rents it out as well. You cannot help but feel relaxed and "at home". Everything you need to live is there. All you need is groceries and a few books; although they have pretty good selections of books for you to read up there. If you bring a book and do not want it, leave it there for someone else to read. The trails for walking, all the equipment for canoeing, snowshoeing, ice fishing is all there. My dog and I just went on walks around the property and on the lake since it was so warm. I am looking forward to my next trip, maybe this time I'll share the place with my brothers, sisters and nieces!

We had the best time!! The snow was great. We fished (caught some northern, skiied the North Arm, Hidden Valley and into the Boundry Waters to see the pictographs(twice). We went on a midnight walk (actually maybe 10:00)along the snowmobile trail to Fenske to look at stars and deposit snow angels. We played games, ate very well and caught up with friends and family. I fell asleep with a big smile on my face every night. Can't wait for next year.

Great location near Ely and trails. Bass Lake trail is a must. The kitchen was stocked with every appliance and pot&pan you could need. The entire cabin is very spacious and suited our needs very well. Thanks for such a great get-a-away.

All one would want and much more, set in a beautiful cabin/home in the woods. Step out of the sliding glass doors onto the balcony deck and breath the fresh, pine scents, hear the calls of the wild things, have a "Whisky Jack" fly in and take a piece of bread from your fingers, but most of all and perhaps best of all, just listen to the solitude. Then as a bonus, be up around midnight, step out once more onto the deck and see what "night" is SUPPOSED to look like. Dark, still, stars, more stars and the "Milky Way". So peaceful and serene, it gives one a sense of the enormity of God's creation.

We had a great time at this spacious cabin. The location is secluded and has a BWCA feel; yet less than 15 minutes from Ely. The cabin was large and had everything anyone needs (HD TV was great for winding down the night). The lake was quiet and great for cannoning. There is a nice hiking trail near by (Bass Lake Trail). The owner was very responsive to emails. Overall, the location, cabin, amenities were perfect. Thanks Sean!!

Your cabin was vey comfortable and the setting was breathtaking. We'd love to come back sometime with a bunch more people maybe in the summertime so we can take full advantage of the beautiful lake and all the space in the cabin! We had a very memorable time - Thank you!!

Our family would like to thank you for such a wonderful break from reality! The cabin is beautiful and comfortable! The scenery was outstanding, we actually saw the Northern Lights from our bedroom window! AWESOME to say the least! We had such a wonderful time, and made warm family memories, that our family all agreed to get together once a year and stay at your cabin! Thank you again...
