My husband and I rented the 3rd floor apartment for an extended stay. This Nob Hill rental is a premium property on a quiet street in the center of SF. The views from the roof top deck and penthouse room are simply amazing. The close access to the trolleys made traveling across SF easy. We have rented many houses and apartments in major cities in the US and Europe and this apartment was at the top of these experiences. The posted photos do not do the apartment justice. The 3rd floor apartment is thoughtfully and beautifully decorated. It feels like a home, not a rental. The kitchen is fully equipped, like no other that I have experienced. Also the 3rd floor apartment has a nice dining space that is not shown in the photos. The apartment was immaculate and having a washer/dryer appreciated. The building is in fantastic condition and overall the apartment was bigger than we had expected! The close proximity of Whole Foods (on California and accessible by trolley) and the Ferry Building enabled our in-home meals. The owner was exceptionally helpful in getting us settled. I would recommend this rental to anyone who visits SF. I am sure we will be back. As for dining out, I would recommend visiting Yank Sing for their spectacular Shanghai dumplings and honey-glazed sea bass (we cannot visit SF without eating at Yank Sing's). We also had a wonderful meal at E&O Trading Company.

This was my first time to really experience San Francisco and the novelty of Nob Hill, love it! My children loved getting on the trolly (which is near to the flat) and seeing the sights by this means of transportation. We loved our flat on Pleasant Street. We stayed on the 3rd floor which was very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed view of the city from the upper deck. We would definitely come back to this rental when we return to San Francisco. I also loved the fact that there were two markets around the corner. The neighbors were very nice and helpful in helping us find our way around the neighborhood (okay, I got a little lost).

Excellent neighborhood, quiet street. The parking is very nice to have, but be careful getting in and out of the garage to avoid scraping the bottom of your car. If we were to stay again, we'd probably go for the top floor (great views and quieter) or bottom floor. Bathroom is very pretty and water has good pressure and is hot. Master bed sagged a bit. Kitchen was nicely equipped - Jennifer left us a bottle of wine in the fridge, coffee and some mint milanos (a big hit with the kids!) Sofa bed was adequately comfortable, fold-way barely fit our 14 year old - would be fine for smaller kids. Lots of pillows and blankets available. Laundry facilities on 2nd floor - very nice. Plenty of hangers and closet space. Previous renters had nicely left various things (spices, oil, shampoo). Had a bit of a scare when we didn't receive the lock box information until the day before our arrival - but it all worked out. Neighborhood: find and frequent Bob's Donuts! Nob Hill Grille and Nob Hill Cafe are good restaurant options. Nob Hill Market on Clay and Leavensworth was the nicest of the groceries. Grace Cathedral Church and the Cable Car Museum are nice free spots to tour. Don't miss Alcatraz. Enjoy San Francisco!

My wife, five year old daughter, and I stayed in the First Floor French Garden Flat, and it was perfect for us! The flat was very charming and had everything we needed. It was also within walking distance to any thing, really, be it a quick shopping trip or getting to a bus line or cable car. We'd absolutely stay here again, that's for sure!

We travel to the area often and could not resist the location of this property. Since the upstairs unit was not available for the duration of our stay, we opted for the middle flat since we were arriving by car and noticed that the rent included a garage. Everything was exactly as described; the bed was very comfortable, the flat was clean, the location was awesome, and the garage was a major convenience. The property is located near the top of Nob Hill and all three cable car routes are within two blocks of the house, putting the city (and the return home) within easy reach no matter what your age or fitness level. Staying at this property will make you feel more like a local than a tourist and it sure is nice to feel at home while on vacation!

This must be the best place to stay in San Francisco! We stayed one week and enjoyed it a lot! The apartment is so cosy and the kitchen is so well equipped. The Nob Hill area is very nice and you have walking distance to everything. And it is on the top of San Francisco. You don’t have to walk more than a block in any direction to see the ocean. Beautiful! There are also many good restaurants close by. Pleasant Street must be one of the calmest streets in the city. When you have been out in the noisy city the whole day it’s perfect to get back to the calm and cosy apartment. We were in the French Garden Flat and we enjoyed it a lot! That is so much better than staying in an anonymous hotel. It almost felt like if we were living in San Francisco. We even once went out jogging in the morning like the locals do. We enjoyed the mornings the most. There is a nice park just close to the apartment were people are walking their dogs. Grace Cathedral is also fantastic, just a block away. And the cable car on California is very close. If we come back to San Francisco we will definitely stay here again!

We rented the top floor flat for three weeks to escape the brutal Houston summer. San Francisco is a very special place for our family. My wife and I honeymooned in San Fran and returned for our 20th anniversary. My wife’s father celebrated V-J Day there. And the weather is so nice we just decided to go live there for a few weeks in the summer of 2011. We don’t do many of the usual tourist things anymore since we’ve visited so many times. We just settled in and made ourselves at home. The flat is so cozy and welcoming; we were immediately comfortable. I worked each day in the rooftop office/living area with a panoramic view of the Bay with Coit Tower jutting out in the middle. It was such a convenient and relaxing place for me to work. I just logged onto the internet like it was my office in Houston; only with a stunning view of San Francisco Bay. My wife and daughters would come up to sun bathe on the deck about the time I was finished each work day. The view from deck is really amazing; endless rooftops down to the Bay. You can see almost all of Fisherman’s Wharf to the Bay Bridge. If you know what you are looking for, you can see the spires of Joe DiMaggio’s church. On July 4, we grilled chicken and enjoyed the fireworks over the Bay. We walked to the 24 Hour Fitness Centers on Montgomery and Van Ness to get in our work outs. Each time, we saw something new to enjoy whether interesting architecture or an old café or neighborhood pub. The flat is perfectly located; church, shopping and dining were all a short walk away. If you’ve never attended Sunday service in the magnificent Grace Cathedral, you owe it to yourself to go and it’s just two blocks from the flat. Yoga on Tuesday As we do, we walked down to the Wharf a couple of times to enjoy some sidewalk seafood and Anchor Steam. Although it has some detractors, we like to have breakfast at Roxanne Café. The Nob Hill Café just across the street has tasty fare as well. We did Chinese at the infamous Sam Wo’s in Chinatown. It was a fun experience. But we were more impressed by Sun Kwong on Hyde Street, again just a short walk from the flat. Two huge meals, appetizers and two beers for under $30? Can’t find that anywhere in San Fran. Thai Spice on Polk Street was a very nice find as well. Good Thai food at a great price. Cala market on Hyde seems to the best value for groceries

I rented the bottom flat for a few nights and absolutely loved it. I live in the Bay Area but wanted just to "get away" for a few nights, and I really feel like I got away. The location was perfect to walk to just about all entertainment, the neighborhood was clean and charming, and I felt very comfortable and safe with my husband and kids. I hope to return soon. I'm definitely keeping this in my phone book. LOVED IT! Thank you and see you again in the Spring!

Love this location and amenities! Stayed in top level for 8 nights while visiting daughter down the street and it was a perfect location...we could also walk to the Giant's Parade!!!!, Chinatown, Union Square, Polk Street, Wharf and also hop on a cable car to get around town. The upstairs deck was an added bonus..coffee in the morning enjoying the early view and then the view at night is like no other. Thank you to Jennifer for the outstanding communication and for Phil for tending to things in a most timely manner and making sure everything has been fine. We will miss Phil! Truly a home away from home and so well equipped. Everything we needed was here and the garage parking was an added bonus. We will be back :) Mahalo, S & G

We just returned from our honeymoon in San Francisco and spent a week in the third floor flat of this property. It is indeed a "jewel"! The flat was spacious, clean and well-maintained. The inclusion of garage space was a huge plus. More important, the flat was incredibly comfortable and did not have that "vacation home" feel that I have experienced in other rental properties. Jennifer was very easy to work with and always responsive to my questions. Don't miss the Cable Car Museum on Mason St~it's free and a very interesting piece of San Francisco history. We definitely look forward to staying at this property again when we visit San Francisco in the future.

My wife and I love to stay in a local neighborhood when visiting a large city. Hotels are cold and usually uninviting and noisy. So we look for a location where we can enjoy what the locals enjoy. This property is the epitomy of what we look for. We stayed in the top flat for three nights and it instantly became home. From meeting neighbors to getting friendly directions to groceries and restaurants everyone was great. The flat was better than advertised. Roomy and homey and it was great to have a kitchen where the tenants use some condiments and leave some condiments. We even had Margaritas and wine in the refrigerator upon arriving. Jennifer does a great job getting things organized for your arrival (even when she is in Buenos Aries.) All in all a great stay. Hope to get back some day.

Our family recently spent the first part of June in SF. Jennifer's description and photos of her flat are accurate. We stayed in the first floor flat with our teen and young adult kids. The flat was immaculate, was spacious enough for all of us and really the ideal spot for a nice, comfortable place to sleep, shower, prepare quick meals and head out on our adventures. (It would also be ideal for 1-2 people if you were staying longer and just wanted to stay some place that helped you feel like you lived in SF) Great access to public transportation and close walking distance to lots of sights and neighborhoods. Nob Hill location, great flat, really nice homeowner, terrific value. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thanks for a great week Jennifer!

My husband and daughter stayed in the middle flat for a week. What a fabulous flat, located in walking distance of several bus lines and wonderful neighborhoods. We took advantage of the location to go out and enjoy the city all day and felt comfortable coming back late at night. We enjoyed the flat tremendously. It is well appointed, bright and spacious. The directions and instructions were first rate, thank you Jennifer. This was our first VRBO rental. We all declared at the end of our fabulous week in San Francisco, that we would love to come back!

We have stayed in 2 of the 3 flats and the quality and location of this rental is so superb! The top floor flat is certainly the "jewel" in this Nob Hill crown and Jennifer, as always, is such an accommodating host. We are always sad to leave and always looking forward to our next stay. Having stayed at multiple properties in San Francisco, we highly recommend this lovely and comfortable rental.
Owner response:Thanks Val and Keith for the nice remarks. As always it is a pleasure to have you stay in the Nob Hill flats. Charming clients such as yourselves make my business so enjoyable. Have loved chatting via email (you were so patient with my stories of Buenos Aires) and finally meeting you in person your last visit. Sending the fall schedule to you shortly.

Our family stayed for 1 week in December in the 2nd floor apartment. We couldn't have been happier with the apartment. It is conveniently located close to all of the major SF sites. The apartment itself was clean, bright, spacious, and had EVERYTHING we needed for a very comfortable stay - there were even books and toys available for our two young children! Thank you Jennifer for all of your help in arranging our stay - you were extremely helpful and kind. This has been one of our favorite trips thus far, and we look forward to visiting again soon!
Owner response:Thanks so much Olivia for your kind appreciation. It was great to meet you and your darling children. You were a trooper during our roof top construction. It is almost finished and the results will be a fabulous, new "terrace" for guests of the top floor flat to enjoy. I will update the photos when it is completed next week. JS

Had some friends visiting from Ireland in October, we rented the middle apt for a week. The apartments are fantastic, a real home away from home and so convenient. Everything is within walking distance, special mention to Nobb Hill Cafe at the bottom of the hill. I would highly recommend these apartments to anyone visiting SF, staying here gives guests the feeling of truly belonging in the city. I'm hoping for more visitors so I can go back.
Owner response:Thank you Lily for setting this up for your friends. It was wonderful having a chance to meet you all. Hope to have you back, Jennifer

We stayed in the first and second floor flats in May. We can't begin to tell you how pleased we were with the rooms. What a great home away from home. Very comfortable, clean, and stocked with everything from extra towels and blankets to cookies and spices. The area is so beautiful. The use of the garage was perfect. Great location and very unique. We drove down the coast to Carmel, Monterey Bay and then over to Yosemite. Such a beautiful coastline California has. Jennifer is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend her rentals and plan on using her again next year. We had a chance on our last day to peek into the top flat and rooftop. Breathtaking. Lovely place. Feel free to email.

Sweetly furnished and so comfortable you feel as if you are actually a resident of that splendid city. Our second floor apartment was very homey and unpretentious; it invites you to drop your bags and plop down 'n relax the moment you step inside. The kitchen facilities were more than adequate for cooking up a nice dinner and the on-site washer and dryer are a real plus. The location couldn't be better, too. Grace Cathedral is right around the corner fronting a charming little park where you can watch the locals run their dogs (and rabbits!) in the afternoon. Chinatown is down one side of the big hill and fabulous SF shopping and dining down the other. There's a large supermarket a few blocks away for major consumables and a a couple of little city markets within five minutes walk. Jennifer, the owner, is very accommodating and a straightshooter. We've stayed there twice and will stay there again. A word of advice: The place seems very popular so book early or you might wind up in a hotel. Yuk!

We stayed in the second floor flat for 8 days while in Sanfranciso celebrating my daughter's high school graduation. The flat was perfect for us since there were 4 of us and a hotel would have been crowed and boring. My daughter took her best friend along and because of the wonderful and safe location of the flat they were able to come and go as they wanted, while my husband and I mostly toured China Town. By the way if you like Dim Sum head to China Town for all you can eat at extremly reasonable prices. While we were in Sanfran we walked just about everywhere, the flat is in a perfect location for catching the trolley or the cable car. Alcatraz was FANTASTIC probably the high light of our trip. Thank you so much Jennifer for allowing us a great place to stay. The Giang Family Quang, Maria, Kim and Jody Watford

Our family of 4 stayed in the second floor flat in June of 07. The location is great, just steps away from public transportation stops. We had a car because we were planning several trips outside of San Fran and we REALLY appreciated the garage. Most hotels in the area charge anywhere from $30 to $45 a day just to park, so the garage was a GREAT deal. The flat was extremely well stocked with dishware, cooking utensils and even spices, wine and treats! Our girls shared the pull-out bed, but there was room for a blow up matress (which WAS provided along with a pump) if you have children that won't share a bed. We got a chance to go up to the third floor flat and deck and the view (and flat) are fabulous. Jennifer is wonderful, friendly and extremely helpful. I highly recommend this property.

I have stayed at this location twice since the first of this year (2007). I have actually rented 2 flats, at the same time, in this building since friends joined me on the trips. The location is ideal and the top floor penthouse/office is a great space to relax after long walks in the city by the bay. The ground floor garage is a very nice feature if you have a car. You can find good, smaller restaurants like the Nob Hill Cafe within steps of the flats. I have used VRBO in a number of locations, including Paris, New York City and Chicago, and this Nob Hill location rates among the best.

Ms. Solomon is extremely accomodating and one with which you would enjoy working. The flats are centrally-located and yet on a quiet side-street. Parking is available at no extra cost in the lower garage. Many household items are provided and the property has the feel more of a home than a rental. We have stayed in other places in SF but, anytime we stay more for a week, we like staying here. We give it the highest recommendation and are sure you will love the experience!

I rented the first floor apartment in May 2002 (I have no excuse for not writing this testimonial earlier!) and have nothing but praise - it was a real home away from home. I was particularly impressed with the high specification of decor and equipment in the apartment and the secure parking in the garage. I actually got to take a look at the other two apartments in the building and liked that each one had a different character and something individual to offer. The view from the top floor penthouse room was breathtaking! It was my first time visiting San Francisco and the location was absolutely fantastic for everything the city had to offer. The owner Jennifer Solomon was very accommodating and flexible. I loved San Francisco and am looking forward to renting here on a return visit.

By: Peter and Jacqui Stiling We stayed in the middle flat in June 2004. We had a wonderful time. The apartment is situated in a very convenient area with an easy walk to ChinaTown and Tram connections. It is also surprisingly quiet for being in the center of a city. The apartment is very tastefully decorated with a comfortable setting. It was also very convenient to have access to the garage. There were plenty of towels and kitchenware for a family a five and the facilities for laundry were excellent. Jennifer was extremely pleasant to work with and made the whole process very easy. We would definitely recommend to our friends to rent this accommodation and return to it ourselves. Thank you.
