The house has gracious rooms and wood floors and is furnished with vintage touches combined with modern comfort. Two bedrooms and bathrooms are on the main level; two bedrooms and bath are on the ground level. There is also an outdoor shower for alfresco rinses after a day at the beach.
A screened porch catches the lake breezes, or relax in the comfort of central air and heating. Three fireplaces also can take the chill off on cool evenings.
It is just steps to your own private beach- perfect for swimming, sailing or sunbathing.

This is a very nice property with great accommodations. The owner is very helpful, met us when we arrived, and was accessible by phone if needed during the stay. The pictures (as of this review) only show the downstairs, but the upstairs is just as nice, with a master bedroom and adjacent bedroom, all of which flow out to the fully fitted kitchen, dining room, and family room. The place was very clean. We made daily use of the dishwasher, and washing machine and dryer. With a baby gate, we were able to set up an area in one of the rooms downstairs to keep our dogs when we were out running errands. There is a deposit required to ensure the owner against pet damage, but this is returned at the end of the week if all goes as planned. The beach is actually split with a tidal pool that is the result of water flowing from the upper region in the area out to the lake. This was no issue, and actually gives some interesting features to the beach area. You just have to walk a little ways to get out to the lakeside. We were there in July, so the summer bug population was in full swing. This is a wooded area, and that's to be expected. We lit citronella candles in the evenings when sitting outside on the lower patio overlooking the lake. Coming from the area we live in, our dogs were not on tick medication, so they picked up a few in the woods. We found a local vet, and had the issue under control in short order. I recommend that if you have teenage kids, that they bring someone along for company. The area is pretty isolated, so we spent a fair amount of time going out to other areas to engage our 17 year old's interests. There are several antique shops and places to eat within a 15 minute radius. Just a few miles down the road is a state park which has large dunes and water activities. The 4 bedrooms (2 up and 2 down), the 3 bathrooms (2 up and 1 down), and the two family rooms (1 up and 1 down) allow for various groupings and gatherings. We were only 3 in the house, and mostly used the upstairs area. There is a garage which easily accommodates 1 car, and plenty of space in the drive to have two or three cars without difficulty. My wife and I recommend this place, and plan to stay again in the future, probably with friends.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children.
