The Chattahoochee River originates in the mountains about five miles north of Helen. It flows through Georgia, forms the border with Alabama, and eventually changes its name as it flows into the Gulf of Mexico, near Pensacola. In this mountainous region, the river is best able to support trout. The water is cold, shallow, and is swift flowing at this point.
Just north of town you can fish from the banks of the river, or wade in the river and fish for trout in the deeper pools. As the river winds into town, there is a small park that gives access to the river. Many are the fish that are caught here. The state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries stocks the river on a regular basis at several points. This provides an enjoyable sport for the many anglers that come to this area.
Canoes and Kayaks are furnished for your enjoyment, also with tubes, vest, etc., in some of the narrow areas of the river you can get caught up with one of these tubes if you are not careful. As with any outdoor activity, you need to be aware of nature, itself. If you go to an area that is not heavily travelled, the snakes like to lay in the sun on the warmer days. So, don't look under rocks and do other things that are unwise.
Overall, you will enjoy the day playing in the water... even if you don't catch any fish.

This tranquil and inviting cabin will give you days or weeks of enjoyment. Poker table, lots of games, movies and much more for your enjoyment along with a 42" Tv in Living room area, 32" flat screen in master bedroom, TV in guest bedroom and main 2 TV's are in high definition. Jenn Air stainless steel barbeuce recenlty added for your enjoyment.
Exquisitely decorated with teakwood coffee tables, aspen beds, stainless steel appliances, and many amenities. There’s a full size kitchen with tile countertops, microwave, dishwasher, blender, toaster, refrigerator, gas range, and LG washer/dryer combo unit.
This is a great romantic get away! This rental has a King private bedroom and one Queen private bedroom, with a Full sleeper sofa in the living room. Interior of this home has old-fashioned white pine walls with hardwood and tile flooring. Sit in the hot tub or rocking chairs, watch all forms of wildlife from the deck over looking the Hooch and listen to the shoals. On the cool spring nights you can enjoy the outdoor fire pit with Tiki Bar and out door TV.
We supply ADSL for your Internet needs (wireless)and UNLIMITED LONG DISTANCE for your convenience. The home as DIRECTV service with All Premium Movie Channels (HBO, Starz, Showtime and Cinemax) and for all of you sports fans have we have "Specialty Sports Channels". HDTV and flat screen televisions will make your trip enjoyable. The home has a total of 3 televisions. Many weddings have been held at this river dream cabin. This cabin has very high end bedding for a good night's sleep. You will feel great in the morning with a fresh cup of coffee looking out over the river.
For your enjoyment we supply 2 canoes and 2 kayaks, life vest and lots of tubes at no cost. Arrangements can be made with the local outfitters post for shuttle pickup after a fun day of canoeing. We have on site fishing gear, camping equipment and beach/camping chairs for your convenience. There is a community area where you can canoe or tube back to your cabin with 20 minutes.
While planning your dream vacation remember to spoil your loved ones and friends. Order chocolate covered strawberries, champagne and have a relaxing stay in the North Georgia Mountains. Birthday parties can be planned or a private chef for the day or even massages scheduled at the local day spa for your continued enjoyment.
Large Dog Run - with 2 doghouses. Animals will love this place! This is a beautiful home on the Hooch. You are only 13 steps away from the river for sun bathing and fishing. The home has a deck size of approximately 1000 sq feet with hot tub. Small dogs are welcome inside with prior approval.

We've been going to this cabin every year, at least once a year, for the last 4 years. This is by far the coolest place we have found, our kids love this place, if they had to chose one place to go on vacation this would be it!!! We love the river, it is just deep enough to enjoy but isn't so swift that even smaller kids can have fun. There is a small island in the middle of the river that we spend much of our day on. Canoeing and kayaking is great!!! We hope to keep returning here for years to come. The folks at Rent Helenare great to deal with.
