VILLA CHUPAROSA - this beautiful private & secure hillside compound has a beautiful 2 bdrm rental, "La Casa Grande" and a separate studio for two to accommodation family reunions etc. Both are fully furnished, delightfully decorated, and can be rented together. Minimum rental time is one week. There is no smoking on the premises. No chemicals or insecticides are used. Each bathroom is steam cleaned between guests.
Surrounding the inner courtyard is a shimmering pool, lush gardens, a 2nd storey palapa (covered deck) with stunning views of ocean, bay, island & mountain backdrop. The grounds are immaculate & lush with colorful flowering shrumbs, tall trees, & potted flowers. Neighborhood grocery stores are around the corner and the beaches are but a ten minute walk, not quite a km away. There is wonderful snorkeling around the island rocks, Just rent a small fishing boat & its owner to get to the island and pick you up. Some local beaches have surfing or 'boogie boarding', others are gentle and shallow, wonderful for long walks with your toes in the wet sand. PLEASE SEE OUR REVIEWS.
VILKA CHUPAROSA is completely enclosed with high walls beautified by lush bougainvillias. Just think, no more having to listen to loud drunken parties, yelling kids, or other people's pets. Our newest option is linking into our wireless computer - just think, no more trips to an inconvenient crowded internet sites.
'LA CASA GRANDE' is a large, colorful 2 bedroom vacation home with pleasing warm pastels throughout & Mexican decor. The usual lst response is "OH!, this is so beautiful!" One bedroom has a double bed. The other has two twin beds and an optional third twin that is inflatable to double height. The bathroom has a large shower, a shelf unit & ample towel space. We have added several mirrors throughout to prevent a lineup for grooming.
'LA CASITA' is a studio for 1-2 persons, in a private location just off the pool at the far end of the inner courtyard. A queen bed, large pretty bathroom, & kitchenette with delightful Mexican decor. Excellent natural ventilation, 2 lg 4 speed ceiling fans. NO A/C is needed during the winter season - you will want the blankets provided for sleeping. The kitchenette looks out on the pool and has a peek at the Pacific. Another large window looks out on the courtyard with its beautiful butterfly garden and the 2nd storey palapa'.
Pamper your senses with BREATHTAKING PANORAMIC VIEWS our guests claim are 'beyond beautiful'; you can see sunsets that fill the sky from our palapa (2nd storey deck), as well as the entire bay, the Pacific, and the pastoral hills on eithr side.
We feature superb OUTDOOR LIVING choices for maximum exposure to an ideal balmy winter climate with insects a scarcity. The lowest temp of 62F (17C) (late night) to a high of 80F (27C) at noon. The breezes are wonderful, keeping our guests cool and very happy! Every guest has choices for dining - an outside table w/oversize umbrella or up on the 2nd story 'palapa' with its breathtaking views of the entire bay & Pacific.
Walking abt one of the streets down our hill gives fascinating insight into the life of a Mexican town.
THE BEACHES: Several miles of varied beaches span this crescent bay. Walk less than 1/2 km (12 min.) to the Pacific, or take a 50 cent 'combi', or $2 cab ride to your choice of where to begin your beach walk adventure..
LA PENITA is a friendly seaside town where you can experience firsthand authentic Mexican culture - A wonderful variety of fresh produce & outstanding seafood at unbelievably low prices. Walk 2 blocks to a family 'mini-super'. The Thursday AM market in the church square (9 blocks away) is a MUST with its local produce, indigenous natives in costume, and Artisans from many countries alongside the local craftsmen. LA PENITA has a bank & ATM, laundry at the foot of our hill, cambios, internet cafes, specialty shops, discos, & many restaurants - these resources are not available in most other towns of the area. What a treat to be 'modern' yet be where hens still roam with their chicks and men can be seen riding donkeys along the roadside, & roosters greet the dawn.
COLORFUL FIESTAS - La Penita is the only town outside Puerto Vallarta, on this long coastal stretch, that celebrates ALL the Mexican fiestas including the 5 day "CARNIVAL" just before Lent: street dancing, mariachis, parades, rodeos. On Mexican holidays, listen to the bands & watch the fireworks from our deck!
SAFE WALKING - This area is nearly crime free, usually a TV or bicycle theft. You see so much more walking than looking out a car window. Enjoy the night sights & activities without worry.
EASY ACCESS TO MEDICAL CARE - An excellent doctor is 3 blocks away. Several pharmacies, dentists, clinic & lab are within a 5 - 10 minutes walk..
EXCELLENT TRANSPORTATION - (1) AIRPORT PICKUP: We can make arrangements for your arrival and/or departure. (2) OR take a taxi to the bus terminal near the airport for $16 (3) La Penita has its own bus terminal - a bua to Puerto Vallarta is $7. There's a lineup of local 'combis' & many taxis. Public travel is easy & inexpensive.

- Linens Provided : The maid changes any dirty linens every 4 days. She also cleans the bathroom, mops all floors & cleans any dirty areas on mirrors and glass top on coffee table,

- Off Street Parking : Secured parking inside a high walled compound. The concrete driveway accommodates two cars in addition to Jerry's car. We often park on the street side, for convenience, & have never been vandalized. It's a quiet neighborhood.

- Queen Bed : We are replacing the studio twin beds with a new queen bed.
- Double Bed : Each of the 2 bedrooms in La Casa Grande has a standard double bed with handmade quilt & extra blanket.See pictures. We will be replacing one double bed with 2 twin beds.
- Twin/Single Bed : The studio 'La Casita" has 2 single beds which can convert to a king size bed by pushing together,
- Convertible Bed : Guests in La Casa Grande have access to a new double high air inflated twin bed.

- Beach View : Villa Chuparosa is located over half way up what was once a foothill. We can see over the trees and rooves to long stretches of white beach, and magnificent views of the total bay and its two main small towns of Rincon de Guayabitos and La Penita de Jaltemba. A river separates them.
- Ocean View : We view the mountain range that protects the bay as well as the open Pacific. It is rare to have fog or rain during the months of November through April.
- Water View
- Mountain View : The Sierra Madre mountain range is in view behind us. Walk to the top of our street and look down upon an agricultural valley and over to one of the ranges of the Sierra Madre. It looks like mountains protecting the bay but these are really 'headlands' or jungled (usually) foothills that go down to the ocean's edge.

Why the Owner Chose Rincon de Guayabitos
We hadn't intended to buy. We had taken a rental for Jan & Feb in La Penita as this small truly Mexican town had the most and best facilities & shops. When our realtor introduced us to this property, we were stunned by the beauty of the view in all directions - the pastoral verdant hills, the foothills coming right down to the Pacific in the bay, but especially the ocean and bay. Libby could visualize building a palapa (upper deck) above the carport for enjoying the site for dining, lounging, even napping. We noted the breeze was steady and cooler than at lower levels on the hill, where we were renting.. The triple sized lot was beautifully terraced to suit the steepness of the hill. And best of all, there was an older colonial structure for us to winter in. We lived in "La Casa Grande" for the first 6 months while renovating our own 'hacienda'. While living in LA CASA GRANDE, we greatly improved the kitchen and painted each wall with a different but complimenting hue until it was a joy to be in that room. Every day in the years since 2001, when I gaze out over the courtyard to the Pacific, I am calmed and mezmerized by both the the pastoral beauty of the hills to the side, and the white waves breaking on a rocky shoal just off the far side of La Penita's beach. It both humbles me and fills my senses with a kind of joy as I realize anew how fortunate we are to even have such beauty to behold daily and to have found such a location as this.

Jerry & Libby Einem are the owners of Villa Chuparosa in the coastal town of La Penita de Jaltemba. They spend wonderful winters at their Villa looking after the needs of their guests. Jerry is a retired academic biologist and naturalist who has led many natural history tours to Costa Rica, Peru & Mexico. He has extensive knowledge of the birds, butterflies, and plants of this region of Mexico. He does ongoing research on butterfly behavior and has published numerous articles
Libby was a reading teacher and lived in Columbia Maryland for 25 years with husband Jerry. Her big loves are dancing, interior decorating. landscape design, gourmet dining, and board games. She invites guests to bring a favorite game to share on their 'nite to shine'.
