The Lake Suite - Our most spacious accomodation offers a private bathroom, private entrance, garden patio with chairs, TV with DVD, a radio with CD player, in room table and chairs, coffee maker, and a sitting room. On cool evenings enjoy your own private gas fireplace. Luxury lounging robes and a hair dryer are provided for your comfort and ease.

Hike our trail to the lake. Hike, fish or swim! Enjoy the large out door hot tub. Snuggle up to the massive stone fireplace in the great room. Enjoy the loft library complete with game table and games. Get comfy on one of the two floors of expansive wrap around decks that offer miles and miles of spectacular views. Rates, based on two adults, through May - September 2008 are $155 Monday - Thursday, and $165 Friday - Sunday nights. Two night minimum stay is required. We will check availability and rates if one night is requested. We offer weekly rates too! Special discounts are available on week days for those that are active in the armed services, teachers, fire fighters, police and hospital employees.

No smoking is permitted inside and sorry, no pets allowed. We provide a relaxing, romantic retreat for adults 21 and over.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT CARTER'S LAKE AND THE AREA:

Autumn Nest has one of the best locations on Carter's Lake for lake access. Carter's Lake is a Corp of Engineers controlled lake and does not allow private docks, which keeps the lake and shore line pristine. Autumn Nest has a private trail from the house down to the lake, where you can swim or fish for bass, crappie, stripper and walleye.

Carter's Lake is a 3,220 acre, mountain lake. It is approximately 450 feet deep at it's deepest point, which provides fantastic fishing opportunities year round. The lake is held by the largest earthen dam east of the Mississippi. The lake is not drawn down each winter as other power generating lakes generally are.

There are approximately 5,000 acres of nature preserve area surrounding the lake, a full service marina with boat slips, five nature trails, mountain bike trails, 7 boat launch ramps open year round, 7 recreation parks, camping areas, and 5 group pavilions.

Bring your boat, canoe, personal water craft or rent a pontoon boat from the marina. An October highlight is the Ellijay Apple Festival and of course the beautiful leaves!

Autumn Nest is in the Chattahoochee National Forest, so there are many hiking trails, an on-site swimming beach, park areas, horse back riding, the Ridgeway Mountain Bike Trails, canoeing and rafting on the Coosawattee River, Talking Rock Creek and the near by Toccoa and Ocoee River, and Amicalola Falls State Park. The area is also a favorite of bird watchers with a dedicated preserve.
