We had such a fun time at this welcoming home! This was our preschool-aged kids first time skiing and Tahoe Donner is probably one of the best kids-friendly ski schools in the area. Not to mention it was fairly affordable too. The house is located within minutes from the ski resort, and is also a short drive to downtown Truckee. Our kids loved the bunk beds, and we found the house to be very clean, comfortable and welcoming. The kitchen was fully equipped to cook a nice meal. Thank you, Carla, for sharing your beautiful house with us.

Everything was as described and more than met our expectations. We have rented other vacation homes and cottages but this one was the most peaceful and comfortable ! The property supplies everything you need - even sleds and plenty of games and books for the kids. We had very positive and helpful communication with the owner and would definitely recommend Chalet Sierra to anyone needing some R&R or for families who enjoy all the outdoor activities that the Tahoe/Donner area has to offer. By the way - if you get a craving for sushi we highly recommend Java Sushi in Truckee !

My wife and I have been there twice with another family, total of four adults and three kids. We went once in the early spring for skiing then again in August. This place has everything and is well set up for kids (pack 'n play, bunk beds etc.). The owners do a great job of making sure it's all set with everything you need, and it is clean, contemporary and in good shape. We like this place a lot and plan to go back.

We had a fantastic stay and would love to make it a regular thing. We always rent a cabin the week of New Years and yours was one of the best we've ever stayed in.

We visited in the summer season and found the home to be clean and comfortable, a perfect rental for a family. Lots of beach towels and videos and a fully stocked kitchen. A trail head was only a half block up and we hiked there several times during our two week stay. Not as private as some settings but once inside the house you will be happy that you chose something newer and larger than other TD homes!

My friends and I had a wonderful weekend reconnecting in this perfectly appointed, beautifully decorate, comfortable home. They came from far locations (OH, NJ, BVI) and were happy to just lounge in front of the fireplace and marvel at the gorgeous star filled night sky on the deck. It was perfect! We will be back!

The Chalet Sierra is the place to stay when visiting Tahoe Donner. We have rented other homes in the Truckee/Tahoe Donner area and Chalet Sierra is simply the best. The house is perfect for any family due to the openness, downstairs TV room, bunk beds, wide open backyard, and assortment of videos & games for kids. The local Tahoe Donner ski area is only a 5 minute drive and is a great place to teach kids. For more advanced skiers…. Squaw Valley, Northstar, and Alpine Meadows are only 20 minutes away. The home is very clean and comfortable. It is a must stay!

The eight of us truly enjoyed our 3 nights stay...Everything was very clean and ready for our arrival. We were very pleasantly surprised at all the place settings/flatware (we've been to some VR and were supplied with only 8 settings...made for lots of dishwashing and wasted water use!). Beds and bedding were comfortable; ample linens and towels (incl. beach & kitchen); well stocked paper goods and detergents; lots of activities to keep kids busy. Great place to stay!!

Our family stayed at the Chalet Sierra this spring. It is a beautiful home, furnished very nicely with many amenities, such as a game cupboard, well stocked kitchen, laundry facilities, computer work area, and deck with BBQ grill and furniture. We stayed here with our family this Spring and had a wonderful time. The house is roomy and comfortable incredibly well furnished. There was plenty of room for two families with children and their grandparents. We will definitely come back.

Chalet Sierra is such a lovely home! My family and I stayed there to get some last minute snow this year and we had a wondeful time. We didn't want to leave!!! The home is super spacious yet cozy. It is nicely decorated and very clean. (My daughter has dust mite allergies and she didn't sneeze or cough once!) The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and kitchen gadgetry so making a gourmet dinner was a snap. Overall, a delightful and inspirational time was had by all-I highly recommend this place to all!

This is a great cabin. We all had a terrific time, and everyone thought the cabin had everything we needed. It is a nice, quiet location, the sledding hill in the back was perfect for the kids (and the grownups too), the house was nice and warm, and we had great skiing to boot! The housekeeping was also excellent. Thanks!

This is a wonderful house. Very clean, spacious and well equiped for all your needs. There is a wonderful sledding hill about 50 yards from the house. You never have to leave to enjoy your stay.

Thanks for a fantastic time at Chalet Sierra! Our family had a fantastic week's vacation in Tahoe Donner in lat July. The community is terrific with so many facilities to take advantage of - we used the gym, the swimming pools, kayaks at the lake and horse back riding. The house itself was amazing. Lots of space to hang out as a family (or two families). We enjoyed the back deck as well as the deck off the master suite, the large great room with its high cielings and lots of windows. Chalet Sierra is also stocked to the gills with everything you might need -- all the way down to the waffle iron!! The logistics were very easy as well with clear directions and no hassle key pickup and dropoff. Thanks again for a wonderful time - we will definitely be back!!

Chalet Sierra is an absolutely lovely home. It is cozy, comfortable and super clean! The kitchen and great room provide a perfect area for the family to gather. Their is a great sledding hill right in the backyard. It is well equipped with games and videos for the kids. The kitchen has absolutely everything you will need. The baby gates and portable crib were so helpful! We love Tahoe Donner and would definitely return to Chalet Sierra.

Chalet Sierra is a wonderfully warm and beautifully furnished home. With a very open and airy living area that allows the ability to cook in the large modern kitchen, while enjoying the company of family and friends in both the living room and dining area. The four spacious bedrooms were extremely comfortable providing a well needed nights sleep at the end of a busy day of swimming, hiking, horseback riding, tennis and golfing. We highly recommend Chalet Sierra to all of our friends looking for a getaway filled with fun, relaxation and serenity. Of all the places we have stayed in Tahoe, Chalet Sierra is now our favorite.

My family and an out-of-state guest stayed at the cottage in August, and we LOVED IT! This cottage is very cozy and comfortable. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped. (There is even a mandolin for super-fine slicing!) One day we had lunch on the deck and fired up the grill. We had our 3 year-old with us and so were able to appreciate all of the child-friendly features: the outlets are covered with protectors, there are gates at the stairs for younger kids, leggos, floor puzzles, and a portable crib. One of the bedrooms is entirely for kids - it has two bunkbeds! Overall, we were very impressed with the level of care and thought that the owner has put into furnishing the cottage. And did I mention the sheets? Very luxurious! We will definitelly be back next year!

Our family loved Chalet Sierra! It is a beautiful house on a quiet street in Tahoe Donner. The house is very spacious, clean, and comfortable. We loved grilling and eating meals on the back deck, where you have a beautiful view of the woods. We did a lot of cooking while we were there, and we could always find just what we needed in the kicthen. Our kids were also very happy to find a game cupboard, storybooks, and lots of children's videos. The Tahoe Donner development offers so many things to do as a family. There are hiking trails, pony rides, two swimming pools, a gym, and the Donner Lake Marina. It was a short drive to Tahoe City, where we went rafting, bike riding, and visited Commons Beach. We can't wait to visit again soon!

I recently stayed here and must say that it is a fabulous retreat into the Tahoe mountains. It was my first time to the area. The house is picture perfect, the woods magnificent and the neighborhood friendly. The amenities and local activities are top notch!
