Comfortable and relaxing craftsman-style home just a few steps from the water on pristine Lake Burton. You can see the lake from every room in the house. Immaculately decorated and maintained, with modern furnishings and electronics. Boat house with available slip is lakeside and 300 feet inside a no-wake zone. Spectacular mountain views are just outside the cove and boat rentals are just ten minutes away. Fish right off the dock or fly fish on the Soque River only 15 minutes away.
The house has an open floor plan with tongue and groove walls in the main living areas. The kitchen is fully furnished and the dining room table can easily seat 12. Two excellent restaurants are less than a mile away and both are within walking distance. In the evenings, enjoy a glass of wine on the outdoor patio with fireplace and satellite radio. All bedrooms are spacious and have new, ultra-comfortable, top-of-the-line mattresses and bedding.

Family from all over gathered at this great house. The layout (2 beds and bath up, master on main and 2 beds and baths plus family room down) meant lots of room to spread out and cozy up together. We enjoyed the screened porch and fireplace and the canoe. It was cold but we still swam off the dock. The owners were very helpful.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

We have rented several homes in Lake Burton over the years and have enjoy each and every one of them, but this place went beyond our expectations. The house is well decorated, in a very quiet area of the lake if you are vacating with small children and close to local restaurants for "mom's night off." We will definitely return to this Paradise Palace in the future.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The house is really comfy, it has everything you need for a great vacation weekend or even a month. We were 5 families, and everybody had their own space, the rooms are big enough to spend the night as a family in just one bedroom. We will definitely come back soon!!!! What an amazing house and the owners were wonderful to work with. Our friends decided to get together to celebrate four of us turning 40 and we couldn't have had a more perfect location. The layout of the house is perfect and it has space for everyone. From sitting on the dock, lounging on the porch overlooking the lake, or eating in the kitchen (It was outstanding)! I recommend taking a boat ride to Laprades Marina (The Chop House) for dinner... To sum it up: Amazing location and house! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to enjoy your piece of paradise!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This was a perfect place for a family reunion. Our 16 person family had a great time staying at this home. It was beautiful, clean, and felt like home. Everyone ages 4 - 75 had a good time. It was nice to be on a quiet cove so the kids could swim without worrying about boat traffic. The beds were amazingly comfortable. We will definitely rent this, again.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

Had a grant time the first week of August, 2009. We chose this beautiful summer house because it accommodated a large number of family members (7 adults and 2 kids). We loved the secluded cove part of the lake, where we swam and canoed with no worry about fast boat traffic. We definitely recommend renting this house because of the well appointed decorations on the inside, large comfortable kitchen area, driveway capacity(we had up to six cars at one time with no parking problems). The house is soundproof which is nice when you have kids and many adults living under one roof for a week. Highly recommend Water's Edge restaurant at LaPrades Marina for a nice dinner out. If you're into fishing be sure to bring plenty of flys as the fish love them. We didn't have much luck catching fish out front of the house. Cruising around Lake Burton is a fest for the eyes. What an absolute treasure! This is one of the loveliest homes I have ever seen---it's not just a house, it's a home. This home is perfect for family gatherings and reunions and able to accomodate 15 people easily. Views of Lake Burton are absolutely beautiful and we loved spending time down at the dock during the day and in front of the fire on the porch in the evening. Everything about this place is so well-appointed that as soon as you walk through the doors you feel right at home! If you want to enjoy all that the North Georgia Mountains and Lake Burton have to offer--then there is no better way to go than right here!Did you find this review helpful? Absolutely wonderful house, the best in which we have stayed. This is not a house owned to rent, it is a house owned to live in, which the owners just happen to rent. It has many nice touches which make you feel comfortable and at home. Great views and water access. What an incredible find!! Our family had the best time staying at this home and I would highly recommend this home to anyone. There were so many things for everyone to do. Our family's favorite time was just sitting on the porch talking and laughing about the events/adventures of the day. I think several of us could have stayed up all night talking. About the owner: Mike and Julie Phelan reside in Suwanee, GA. Mike is an Orthodontist in Buford, GA and Julie is an RN. Julie was born and raised in Augusta, GA and Mike grew up in the midwest. We have three children and we enjoy lacrosse, golf, snow skiing and boarding, watersports and travel.

Lake Burton is only an hour and a half from our primary residence but it feels like you are a thousand miles away. It is relaxing, peaceful and serene. Lake Burton is clean and the Appalachian Mountains are a beautiful northern backdrop. The local residents are welcoming and friendly.
