Parliament Square has an enviable corner position, with astounding views of the Royal Mile and the City Chambers (local government offices) on one side and the magnificent St Giles Cathedral on the other (see map). This magnificent, two-bedroom, third floor apartment commands a prestigious position in the very heart of Edinburgh's historic Old Town and only 300 metres to Edinburgh Castle's entrance.

The apartment is only a few minutes walk from many other major Edinburgh attractions such as the Royal Scottish Museum and the National Gallery of Scotland located on the Mound at junction with the famous Princess Street. There is also a copious amount of bars, restaurants, cafe's, and shops in the immediate area. This holiday apartment is furnished and decorated to a high standard and is a very comfortable base for your visit to Edinburgh and Scotland. Guests who have a laptop can also enjoy a free broadband connection either through the supplied cable or by wifi.

Lounge/Drawing Room -
This superb corner room provides marvellous views of the Royal Mile and St Giles Cathedral. The room consists of a comfortable corner sofa, a dining table suitable for four people, and some smaller items of furniture and lighting features. A beautiful Victorian fireplace with a gas coal effect fire provides additional heat to the gas central heating and creates a wonderful ambiance in the room. A wide-screen LCD TV with approximately 30 digital channels and a DVD home cinema system with a selection of DVDs and CDs are provided for your enjoyment.

Bedroom One -
This is a lovely large double-size bedroom with a window overlooking the Royal Mile and the Edinburgh City Chambers. A super king-size bed that can be split into twins if desired ( please indicate when making your booking if you want this room to made up as twin beds) with two bed-side tables, a large built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers provide ample storage space for your possessions. It has wonderful working shutters to shut out the world to aid a good night's sleep.

Bedroom Two -
The second bedroom has lovely views of St Giles Cathedral and the Royal Mile. It has a king-size double bed with headboard and beside tables. There is a wardrobe to provide storage for your possessions. There is also working shutters in this room.

Kitchen -
The kitchen has a window with the same views as Bedroom One. It is equipped with a refrigerator/freezer, electric cooker, microwave oven, washer/dryer and cutlery and crockery for up to four people.

Bathroom -
This is a large room with a bath with mixer taps providing a shower attachment, water closet, and basin. A shaver point is also in the bathroom.

* All gas and electricity costs are included in the rental.
* Linen and towels are provided and are changed weekly for rentals of one week or more.
* Complimentary tea, coffee, and milk are provided for your arrival.

                    This is a beautiful apartment with a location that can't get any better. It is right off of the pedestrian area of the Royal Mile. We really enjoyed opening up the windows and listening to the street performers below. It is very clean, exceptionally decorated and has a much better kitchen than we do at home! We didn't want to leave and hope to be back. This location is ideal for sightseeing, picking up a walking or bus tour, etc. You do not need a car at all. It is a fourth floor walk up...so you do get your exercise. If stairs are a problem I know that Edinburgh Self-Catering has other properties that are also nice with less stairs. We liked the stairs, it made us feel better about all the restaurant food we had been eating! The apartment is an oasis at the top.

                    Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

                    Fabulous location for easy walking to Old Towne or Royal Mile or Castle. Wonderfully appointed apt - all of the creature comforts - excellent sized rooms - visually superb ! Make certain that you can walk up the stairs - no elevator When they say "delux", they mean it

                    We absolutley fell in love with the apartment! With its traditional features, modern amenities, and fabulous location, it is the PERFECT vacation home, and we will definitely stay there next time we are in Scotland.

                    A wonderful apartment in a perfect location for exploring in the heart of Edinburgh. Great views from the apartment and only a 3-4 minute walk to the Castle. Beats the pants off any hotel!

                    Dear Glenn,We have used the VRBO web service 3 times now and we are always a little nervous to commit part of our vacation as one doesn't really see what they are getting into until they get there. I must say that your apartment was absolutely fabulous; it was as you described it in your web page and more. It was very comfortable, beds and sofas, the kitchen and washroom were adequately equipped and the overall apartment was absolutely gorgeous. It is also conveniently located in the heart of Edinburgh. Dave, whom greeted us, was very helpful with everything which gave us a good idea on the nice Scottish hospitality. One last thing there is a few stairs, but the few extra stairs are worth the comfort of the apartment.On a scale of 10, we ranked it a 9.5, so it goes without saying that we highly recommend anyone renting this apartment.Glenn, thanks for the great place, and give a warm “Bonjour” to Dave from his friends in Québec Canada; Lise, Carol, Raymond and André.Cheers,André Vaillant

                  About the owner: I am originally a seismologist for the British government (only part time now due to the demand of my self catering business) and I initially started renting out one of my apartments on short term vacational rentals over the busy Edinburgh festvial period. However after much thought I decided to give it go full time approximately five years ago. It has been a thorughly enjoyable journey and has resulted in me having to reduce my hours as a scientist.

Location, location, location was such an important factor this property is amongst the best the city has to offer.
