Jean, although we have never met, all of your correspondence has been so cordial and considerate. I can tell you are a sweet soul. Our stay was wonderful and the cottage was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I want to thank you for allowing us to share your home away from home. Thank you again. I will recommend you to friends and we hope to see you again soon. Sincerely, Peggy

Islamorada is our favorite place in the Keys. Usually we stay in a hotel but decided to try out a VRBO property instead. We will definitely be doing this again! The cottage was a perfect. Well maintained and the management and owner were great to work with. The cottage was very comfortable, private & located in a convenient spot. Right down the road from Robbie's Marina...great place to rent a boat from or take a charter. Robbie's offers a mutiple day discount for boat rentals. The Hungry Tarpon is a great place for breakfast. You must feed the tarpon while you are there. Morada Bay is a nice place to grab a drink, listen to live music, and watch the sunset. The Green Turtle is an excellent place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If your adventurous The oTHErside Boardsports (mm 83) offers paddleboard rentals and kiteboarding lessons. They also have a wakeboard cable park 1.5 miles south of Duck Key (mile marker 59). I highly recommend staying here!

Cute & comfortable cottage, great location to explore the Keys. Cottage is in a quite area, perfect for spending relaxing days to unwind. Pool was great, our weather was super hot so we frequented the pool and had it to ourselves our entire stay. The cottage was comfortable for us, nice kitchen, 2 bedrooms (good for a couple or family of four), washer & dryer which we used often, who wants to take home dirty clothes! We traveled north and south exploring the area. Of the towns nearby we would recommend Islamorada had everything needed and a wealth of great bars & restaurants. Start your days at Mangrove Mikes for an amazing breakfast, end your days at Lazy Days for a terrific seafood diner - request to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. Must stop at Robbies for the true tourist experience, feed the Tarpon and watch out for the hungry pelicans. We definitely recommend this property. The description of this property is accurate. When you first pull up to the cottage it looks small but you'll be pleasantly surprised when you open the door! The property owner and the agent handling this property are very nice. They made sure and cared that we enjoyed our stay.

The owner and manager of the property were very helpful in helping us decide to rent this for a few days while in the Florida Keys. We have stayed in Islamorada many times in the past but always in motels. We found this cottage very charming and exactly as they describe it. The place was spotless when we arrived, the pool was great, and we found as we had in the past, that Bob's was a great place to have breakfast. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone. The area is quiet, and great for taking walks. There are many great dinning areas our favorite for dinner and lunch are the Lorieli and Islamorada Fish Company. We found the queen bed very comfortable as well as the couch. We are hoping to rent again next year.

Like anyone who rents over the internet, we arrived with a bit of trepidation. But, we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the cottage. It was very clean, nicely decorated, newer appliances, comfortable bed and had very nice and plentiful linens, including beach towels, sand mats and beach chairs (they have seen better days and we actually replaced one). We were expecting a cottage and this is a very nice one. It is small, but we were comfortable even when we had overnight guests. The pool is wonderful! We were at the pool almost every day and had it's use exclusively all but a few. The neighborhood is really nice and we enjoyed walking our dog every day on the pet friendly beaches (3 miles away) and the walking paths that run along US 1. The neighbors and property manager were really nice and very helpful. Islamorada is beautiful, the waters exceptional and we were at a beach every day. We enjoyed Lazy Days and their happy hour, great pricing. There are many good restaurants in the area and pricing is pretty consistant in all of them. We cooked a lot at the cottage, so much fresh seafood available. But grocery stores are few and far between, so stock up while you are there. Theatre of the Seas is a small dolphin and sea lion park, but very nice for a family outing. Robbies is convenient for snorkeling and fishing charters. We liked Mangrove Mikes for breakfast. We would recommend this property and already have to people we met while in the area. We came back tanned and relaxed and that's what the Keys are all about.

At this price point in the keys, your choices are usually limited to the all-to-plenty musty old motor-inn motels. So, if you’re traveling on a budget, consider this rental. Its really small, but clean and freshly painted. The neighborhood seems safe, but be alert – we saw a huge gator on the seawall behind a house across the street. Pretty cool, actually. I agree with a previous guest review – the bed and couch are terribly uncomfortable. They have tried to make the queen bed better by adding a 4 inch foam pad and planks of wood, but it’s still terrible to sleep on. My husband & I finally moved to the twin beds in the other room. The couch is a sinkhole and cushions slide out from under you; not good for your already bed-sore back. While the pool is indeed adjacent to the cottage, you cannot really see it because of the fence and tall hedges around it. In fact, you have to walk down the street to the next driveway to enter. From the description, I had visions of a veranda opening up right to pool side – not the case - Your sliver-of-a-view is thru a bedroom window. The highway is just yards away, so the traffic noise is constant – but you’ll have that problem with many locations in the Keys. If you’re looking for a place that is more of a pit-stop while you zip off to your next activity, this is a great choice. Just be sure to sleep on the twin beds.

Owner response: Hi Terri and thanks for your review. I just wanted to point out a couple of things:- In relation to the couch review the last negative comment we had about it was back in 2010 and on reading that review we got rid of that couch and replaced it with a brand new one and I haven't had anyone say a negative thing about it since your review. I'm sorry it wasn't to your liking. One previous guest said "The new couch was very comfortable" in her review which you can see below. The same goes for the queen sized bed. I guess though that you can't please everyone as people with a bad back would need a harder couch or bed perhaps. The pool is right beside the cottage (10 second walk!) but due to the landscaping you're right in saying you can only see a small bit of it. However I never did say that you could see it or anything like your "visions" as I knew the landscaping had grown and I'm sorry if you had thought otherwise. I always answer any questiions anyone has truthfully and if you had emailed me about the pool I would have said that and not led you on to think otherwise. I hope you enjoyed your stay in the cottage (other than what you mentioned above!). All the best, Jean

We had a great time in the little white cottage. We like that it was in a quiet neighborhood yet convenient to good restaurants and shopping. We brought our yellow lab who like everything except the pea rock. She especially enjoyed Ann's Beach. The boat ramp was great as we brought our little boat. We especially enjoyed exploring the bay. Our favorite restaurant was Lazy Days! We will be back as soon as we can!

We had a great time in your Cottage over the last weekend. My girlfriends and I thought it was so cute and home like. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine. It's true the pool was only used by us during our stay which was nice. In the area we enjoyed feeding the Tarpon at Robbies, a snorkeling trip and even did the kayaking out to Indian Key. We are looking foreword to using it again real soon. Thank you so much. Maxine

I stayed with my boyfriend and some friends during spring break and it was perfect. The home was very clean with a lot of towels and plates enough to cook. The pool was excellent since no one was there, we were able to hang out while listening to music. The neighbors were friendly and the owner and agent were beyond helpful prior to the arrival with any questions or problems we had. They went above and beyond with customer service, which made the transition a lot smoother and easy. I'm very thankful they made everything so easy because I was a bit worried they would get annoyed with my many questions. There's a lot of restaurants nearby and key west is not so far away. We went to key west for St.Patrick's day and came back at night.

My husband and I were delighted with the 2bd cottage, coupled with a pool that seemed to be our own private pool since no one else was using it! The new couch was very comfortable and after a long day of exploring Highway 1 from one end to the other, was a great spot to kick back, relax, have a glass of wine, and watch a little TV. We had plenty of room to park our motorcycle trailer next to the cottage which was a big requirement in looking for the perfect rental. We had amazing weather and temps in the 80's every day which was a welcome change from our cold, wet, snowy weather we had back home. We had fun in Key West, Florida City, and the local shops in Islamorada riding our Harley around in all the great weather. We enjoyed the ability to have breakfast and dinner at our cottage "home" and would enjoy lunch out at different locations we visited throughout the week. The home was clean with plenty of towels and necessary linens for us. The owner and the rental agent were both very helpful answering questions for us prior to arrival. We really hated to leave "our" cottage home at the end of the week. The neighbors were friendly and fun to talk to. We had a fantastic week. We would recommend this cottage home to everyone.

I recently stayed here for 4 days, it was the perfect place to get away. The cottage was just the right size, very clean and comfortable, close to a pet friendly beach and local shopping. The pool was the perfect place to spend the afternoon and the front porch the bestplace to spend the evening. I will return next year! Had a great time thank you!

A lot of potential, but poorly managed. 1) It is very difficult to find since the address is not on the road where it is actually located and no directions were ever provided. I found it from the website photo. 2) I travel a great deal and these are worst beds I have ever slept on any where in the world. 3) The front door won't even latch unless you use the deadbolt which requires a key from the outside. 4) I have lived in Florida all my life. I am used to bugs. This place had ants and roaches everywhere! 5) Mold in the shower, broken stove top, used sanitary napkin under master bed, uncomfortable living room seating, no AC filter, knob falling off closet door, Dryer full of metal pieces and coins (made a terrible racket - we found them and removed), previous tenant's clothes in drawers. 6) The location is close to Islamorada, but not actually on the key so walking or biking requires crossing several two lane bridges. 7) No contact from Property Manager during stay. I would not use the cottage again or recommend it. KC

Owner response: Beds and couches have since been changed. This cottage is immaculately looked after by both a lovely cleaning lady and a fantastic rental agent (Jen) who bends over backwards to make sure everything is ok in the cottage and that guests staying in the cottage are happy with everything. Her contact details are left with guests for them to contact her should any issues arise with anything. Directions are always given to the cottage so I find it hard to believe that none were given. A quick phone call to Jen would have sorted that out for you as she is extremely helpful and only at an arm's length away. Everything has been fixed in the cottage and it is completely up to the high standard we like to maintain. Please read the reviews below as this is the first negative review we have had and so many people can't be wrong!!

Stayed at this cottage in April for my 50th birthday. It is a tremendous deal when you consider you have an entire house for less than the price of a hotel room. Pool was great, had coffee there every morning. Also liked going across the street to the canal and watching the mullet and tarpon jump. Dale, the groundskeeper gave us great suggestions for dinner and really made us feel safe. Only negative comment is about the wicker love seat in the living room. It is very uncomfortable and really only fits one person. Strongly suggest investing in a nicer couch.

The cottage is very comfortable and cute. The swimming pool is very clean and nice. It's a bit close to the road but you don't hear anything when the doors and windows are closed. The owner and her agent were very helpful. The man who take care of the property and the swimming pool is very kind. He gave us a lot of information about the neighborhood. I definitely would recommend this property to a friend. With the kids, we enjoyed the Founder's park, the swimming pool at the Islander resort and the glass bottom boat tour at the Pennekamp's park. The best beach with kids is Sombrero beach, a bit far but it's a beautiful sandy beach, and there is a playground. We didn't like Bahia Honda beach, because there were a lot of seaweeds. I don't recommend Bobsbunz bakery. They refused to give us a glass of water, despite the fact that we spent a lot of money there. Last point: you have to pay to see the tarpons at Robbie's.

We had a wonderful time. Weather on the whole was OK, a little cold but sunny. It was exactly what my wife and I were looking for. With it being at the end of the street there was no traffic, meaning quiet. Interior is very nice and well appointed. Pleasant surprise was the second television, with me being a sports fan. The location is another plus for us, being on Lower Mutecumbe Key it is not overly developed as far as restaurants etc. but everything is just a five minute drive up to the Islamorada. Also the neighbors both across the street and within Windy Palms were great

We spent 6 weeks in 2010 and really enjoyed our stay. The swimming pool was wonderful, although cold due to the cold weather this year. The furniture in the leaving room (wicker) was not as comfortable as we would have liked. The second bedroom was arranged so you could not get into the dresser very easy. The shortage of closets made it a little difficult to store clothes. We took our golden retriver with us and he enjoyed it alot. The pet friendly beach Annies is wonderful. Roger, Sue and Rocky

Stayed here for a week in March 2009. Really beautiful house with lovely swimming pool to cool off in in the evenings. Very near to loads of amenities, and if you're into fishing as much as I am it is an anglers paradise! Robbies Marine is just a short walk, Bud n' Marys just over the bridge, and both places provide loads of angling opportunities, as well as the chance to feed some giant tarpon and permit. Highly recommended place and I'm already planning my trip again next year!

What can I say except it is a gorgeous cottage in a great location! The pool is really lovely and the beach is just down the road. Having public tennis courts just across the road was great as my kids love playing tennis. Everything is just so close and we even ventured to Key west for the day too which was lovely. Robbies is a great place just up the road where kids (and adults!)can feed the Tarpon fish and where you can hire out kayaks, boats, jet skis etc. Islamorada is a fisherman's paradise (and also anyone else's who likes the water!) The Loreli and the Islamorada Cafe are two great spots for dinner and to watch the sun set....pure bliss and I will certainly be back!!!
