Location: Cannon Beach, Northern Coast, Oregon, USA (East side of Hemlock; 5 minute walk to beach)

Accommodations:  House, 5 Bedrooms + Den, 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 10)

We built our Cannon Beach home in the late 1980s and have been enjoying it ever since. It is a large two and a half story home with full ocean views to the West and South, including Haystack Rock. You can enjoy the views from two sundecks, or from almost every room in the house.

IN THE HOUSE... a spacious living room and sundeck for lounging & reading; all with ocean views. For stormy nights there is a wood-burning stove/ fireplace. There is also plenty of room for arts/crafts in the dining room area, as well as playing games and doing puzzles. There is a TV room/ den for movie watching and wireless internet service.

The master bedroom has its own private, full bath and a partial ocean view. A second master bedroom is located on the top story with an amazing view of the coast -- it has a queen bed and its own private deck.

On the first floor there is another large suite with a trundle bed to sleep one or two, and a wood-burning stove -- it too has a partial ocean view. This room shares a full bathroom with two other rooms, both with two single beds.

OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE... it is just a five minute walk down to the beach -- our home is located on the east side of Hemlock, the main street that runs through Cannon Beach. You simply have to cross Hemlock and walk down either a small hill or a public staircase to get down to the Beach and Haystack Rock.

Midtown Cannon Beach is about a 10 minute walk from our home, Downtown is about 20 -- 30 if you're walking on the beach. There is also a shuttle that goes from town that you can take -- no need to drive anywhere!

  • My wife and I along with our two children and four grandchildren spent a wonderful 9 days at the Cannon Beach Retreat. The view of Haystack Rock and the beach is spectacular. We enjoyed sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The house made us feel very much like we were at our own home. All of us enjoyed ourselves and intend to come back.

  • The Cannon Beach Retreat has become our home away from home. My husband and I have a toddler and hotel rooms just don't cut it. It's the perfect size for the three of us, giving our little guy plenty of room to play. However the home can comfortable accommodate many more friends or family if you have a larger party. The view... You can't beat it and you can walk to the beach or jump in the car and drive to the bottom of the hill. Its also close to SHOPPING :-) Dad stays home during nap-time and Mom goes to town. The owners have been really great too, making sure we had a good time and that accommodation's were comfortable. We've stayed here twice now and we will be staying there again.
