Cannon Beach Retreat - Unobscured View of Haystack Rock
- Minimum stay:2-7 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
We built our Cannon Beach home in the late 1980s and have been enjoying it ever since. It is a large two and a half story home with full ocean views to the West and South, including Haystack Rock. You can enjoy the views from two sundecks, or from almost every room in the house.
IN THE HOUSE... a spacious living room and sundeck for lounging & reading; all with ocean views. For stormy nights there is a wood-burning stove/ fireplace. There is also plenty of room for arts/crafts in the dining room area, as well as playing games and doing puzzles. There is a TV room/ den for movie watching and wireless internet service.
The main floor King master suite has its own private, 3/4 bath and a partial ocean view. A second master bedroom is located on the top story with an amazing view of the coast -- it has a queen bed and its own private deck. Utilizes second main floor 3/4 bath.
On the first floor there is another large suite with a queen bed and a wood-burning stove -- it, too, has a partial ocean view. This room shares a full bathroom with two other rooms, both with two single beds.
OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE... it is just a five minute walk down to the beach -- our home is located on the east side of Hemlock, the main street that runs through Cannon Beach. You simply have to cross Hemlock and walk down either a small hill or a public staircase to get down to the Beach and Haystack Rock.
Midtown Cannon Beach is about a 10 minute walk from our home, Downtown is about 20 -- 30 if you're walking on the beach. There is also a shuttle that goes from town that you can take -- no need to drive anywhere!

This place has it all: A great view of Haystack Rock, easy walking distance to the beach and town, very little traffic noise, privacy, huge living areas, plenty of bedrooms, well-stocked kitchen, baths, deck and beach toys! Our family of 7 stayed here for a week and enjoyed it thoroughly. We had plenty of room on the main floor for a family to sit around and talk, play games at the dining room table, sit outside and enjoy the view, barbecue, and watch the Olympics every evening in the back TV room. This home has a lived-in, family feel to it and it certainly blessed our family for us celebrating our anniversary with our grown kids and granddaughter. It is very clean, well appointed and very comfortable. The owners have thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable and hassle-free as possible. The kitchen has every tool, plate, cup or anything one could possibly conceive of needing to cook a gourmet meal. The appointments are first-rate throughout the home. The deck has plenty of chairs and a wonderful view of the Rock and Ocean. Our grown children had comfortable bedrooms and we had plenty of bathrooms to go around. The view from the "Crows Nest" bedroom is absolutely stunning, so our oldest son took that for his own. We hope to return here someday again with our family. Try it, you'll love it!.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family of 11 just spent a wonderful week at this home. We were lucky with the weather, mostly sunny and cool, a refreshing break from the brutal summer most of us have experienced. Our group consisted of grandparents, 3 couples and 3 children, ages 7yr-9 months. The porta-crib and high chair were put to good use. We were glad not to have to bring those items. The house was perfect for us with room for everyone and a big living space. The kitchen was very well stocked with many pans and dishes and sharp knives--something you don't often find in a rental. While there we hiked Ecola Park and another park south of Cannon Beach whose name I can't recall. Loved viewing the tide pools. Ate some wonderful seafood from Ecola Beach Seafood.Built a beach bonfire one night. Would love to return someday.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family had a wonderful time at the Cannon Beach Retreat. We had eight adults, two infants, and one seven-year old girl, and there was plenty of room for all. The view of Haystack Rock is magnificent, and it can be seen from all living areas and several bedrooms. It was a quick walk to the beach, and an enjoyable beach walk to both mid-town and downtown. The house is beautiful, immaculate, and had all of the amenities that were listed. It is apparent that the owners love and care for this jewel, and we reaped the benefits during our stay. We will definitely return, and recommend this house to others seeking an amazing Oregon Coast experience.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

We spent much of the week before Memorial Day at this wonderful home overlooking Haystack Rock. As a family that enjoys together time, but needs some solitude the house was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked and we made use of the various games Meg and her family have left behind. The family's personal touches add a great deal to the warmth of the house. The location was excellent for walking into town and it was a quick trip down to the beach.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Our family of grandparents, parents and small children enjoyed a holiday weekend at this beautiful, homey, perfectly located property. The home provided plenty of space to get away and space to join together in family fun. The kitchen has brand new applicances and is stocked with any pan or utensil desired. Thankfully the weather cooperated on this winter weekend.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Our family had a wonderful week staying at Cannon Beach Retreat. The location was perfect for our extended family of nine, which ranged in ages from 20 months to 65, and from locations from California to Minnesota to Seattle to Michigan. The ocean views, the sunsets and the walks were wonderful. The home is very comfortable and we were all able to have a relaxing time. The fact that it’s close to the beach, to Haystack Rock, and to town meant that we could walk our separate ways from time to time. Having the BBQ grill on the deck above overlooking the ocean made for many relaxing dinners outside. Five bedrooms helped us have a lot of privacy. Also, the town of Cannon Beach is perfect. It’s upscale, is centrally located on the coast and has a phenomenal beach with many activities in the area. We highly recommend Cannon Beach Retreat. Our grown children and their families felt this was one of the best vacations we’ve ever had! Meg, you were great to work with and did everything you said you would in a timely fashion. We won’t hesitate to come back again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

If you're looking for a large, well-situated house with spectacular views of the ocean and Haystack Rock, an easy walk to the beach, this is it! The Cannon Beach Retreat is a five-bedroom, three bath house, with large living areas for socializing, but plenty of privacy for quiet times as well. It is wonderfully equipped, from firewood for the fireplace, to spices and condiments in the well-stocked kitchen, to rain gear for walking in the winter storms on the ocean. This is clearly a home that a family has loved; it has that good energy. Whether it's just you and your honey, or a group of 10, this is a perfect place to relax and enjoy all that the Oregon Coast has to offer.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The house was a perfect place to stay for my family trip! It was perfectly comfortable for 7 of us with more than enough room for at least 3 more. We had all the joys of home but with an amazing view of Haystack Rock and the beautiful sunsets every night. We were the perfect distance from downtown Cannon Beach that everything was only a minute away, but we had space from the hotels and tourists. The house had many extras that made it so easy to relax. The listing shows the house exactly how it is. It is very clean, well stocked, and well maintained. I would definitely recommend this to everyone going to Cannon Beach and I will be staying here whenever I come back! Thank you Meg and your family for an amazing trip my family will remember forever!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful time at your beach house. The house is marvelously comfortable. The weather was perfectly iconic. We have photos of our children on Cannon Beach from 30 years ago wearing hooded sweatshirts in August, and now have images of our grandson to match. What did you love about the house? . Very comfortable and quiet. . Location is great. Good beach access with a bit of morally invigorating climb back to the house (it is the Oregon coast, after all). . Close enough to "downtown" CB but beyond the motels. . The decks and bay window nook. . The game hoard (junior Monopoly and the fishing game were big hits). . All the appliances worked and the kitchen was well equipped particularly for beach life. Viz., there were about a dozen cork pullers and we bought crabs knowing there would be implements to crack them (yup, back of the tableware drawer). ` . The fireplace (and dumbwaiter for fire wood) is remarkable. Who knew that two sticks of firewood could produce that much heat? . The fact that you left out so many objects of obvious personal significance was very welcoming. What could use improvement? -We can't suggest any improvements. Keep it up.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
