It lived up to its description. The standard of accomodation is very good. The village and its people are lovely. The pool fantastic. The housekeeper is very helpful. It certainly exceeded my expectations & I only wished I had booked for two weeks instead of one.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: We were very pleased that Karen and Nick enjoyed their stay in il Forno Due! This apartment is our owner's unit when we are in residence and we are so happy to share it with our guests. Our villagers in Piegaro and our host family are so enthusiastic and welcoming of our guests. This is a dream come true for us to share this amazing property and our village with everyone!

What else is there to say about a month in Piegaro except it was difficult to leave and our children wanted to live there forever! We rented both Terrazza and Forno Due, an excellent combination! We made it back home without issue and are still missing Piegaro. You have created an amazing environment and we are very thankful to have found you and your lovely Antica Vetereria! We had an absolutely memorable time. Sophia and William both said it was the best thing they ever did in their 11 and 9 years respectively. We are hoping to come back in 2012!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

About the owner: We are presently living our dream full time in the amazing village of Piegaro! We love to greet our guests, give advice, teach pasta lessons and generally live the good life in a wonderful village where our friends and neighbors are so welcoming of us and also of our guests. Originally from Seattle we always dreamed of living in Italy someday. It is important not only to dream but to chase that dream with great passion! We love to share this passion with our guests from over 24 different countries.
Why the Owner Chose Piegaro:
It called to us! This vast abandoned glass factory which was the single most historic property in a pristine little perched hilltop village in Umbria on the border of Tuscany. We spent our honeymoon in Umbria in 1994 and fell in love with this region. After searching for 10 years we found our little piece of paradise! We lovingly restored it to become a beautiful and authentic destination for guests.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Every evening the sun sets over the vast panoramic views from the windows and terraces of L'Antica Vetreria. The idyllic countryside is always tranquil and inviting. From the pool one can enjoy privacy and the expanding view over farmlands and hillsides filled with olive groves, vines and sunflower fields. But just steps away is the lively piazza with its shops and gourmet restaurants with outdoor terraces. Each evening one can sit in the piazza and watch the village children play, the elders take their evening walk and feel totally welcomed with warmth. We love to live the authentic life of Italy which cannot be done isolated in the countryside. This way we have the views and tranquility of the country, but the daily rhythms of village life. Everything you need is within these historic stone walls!
