I own and represent several gorgeous oceanfront condos in Fisherman's Village in the quiet gated community of Playacar. There are just 65 units total, so the complex isn't a huge resort at all. THESE ARE NOT TIMESHARE UNITS!!!
All of the 2 bedroom units can easily sleep 4-6 guests, but one of the units has a very large 2nd bedroom with two double beds and a queen pullout in the living room, so this unit can sleep up to 8 guests comfortably. (slightly higher cost) To be the most comfortable in these units sleep 4-6 people. I do have one unique luxurious 4 bdrm/4 bth penthouse unit that can sleep 8 as well with amazing views. Ask me about this if you have a larger group.
My condo is a penthouse and furnished with hand-carved Mexican Mahogony furniture, paintings from the local artisans with travertine floors and slab marble countertops throughout. My condo was remodeled in 2004! The other condos I represent in the complex are furnished slightly different, but all with excellent taste in decor. You are so close to the ocean in this complex that if you stand on the balcony, you can throw a rock into the Caribbean. (Ok, some athletic ability is necessary)
Fisherman's Village condos are are .8 mile walk from the South end of the town of Playa del Carmen where you will find the ferry to Cozumel and hundreds of shops and restaurants to choose from. This walk takes me 10 minutes.
There are cabs available from the front desk at any hour and to get from Fisherman's to anywhere in Playa del Carmen costs $4.
You can always check out a FREE bicycle available to guests, if that is your preferred method of transportation.
The complex has recently undergone some additions for guests which added a full SPA with treatments being offered such as massage, pedicure, manicures, and facials plus a full exercise room overlooking the ocean. There is a large jacuzzi right on the beach for guests. Guests can use FREE of charge the resorts bicycles, boogie boards, kayaks and snorkel gear.
Fisherman's Village has also recently added an OPTIONAL meal plan to the list of things they offer to guests. For $42/per person per day you will get two meals (either breakfast & lunch or breakfast & dinner) and all the alcoholic drinks or non-alcoholic drinks. It's $38/per day per person for non-alcoholic drinks with the meal plan. You can decide to do this plan one day and not the next if you desire and you pay the resort for this directly.
If you like the history and romance of the Yucatan, you will love staying in Playacar. Playacar is home to many ancient Mayan ruins that are highlighted at night and just steps from the condo for you to view.
Playa Del Carmen is located just 40 minutes South of Cancun and offers miles of clean powdery white sand and turquoise waters, great restaurants and shopping without the towering hotels and crowds of tourists. This complex features a large fresh water pool, children's pool, a swim-up bar, Air-conditioned gym, restaurant and room service. Playacar's spectacular 18 hole golf course and tennis courts are approximately 10 minutes walk from the condo as well as the Aviary in Playacar.
Nearby Attractions include Cancun (40 min.), Cozumel (30 min. by Ferry), Tulum Mayan Ruins (25 min.), Puerto Aventuras (10 min.), Akumal (15 min.), and the famous Chichen-Itza ruins (3 hrs.).
Available Options: Babysitting, Car rental on-site and a resort Concierge on-site to help you plan excursions to see the ruins, visit one of the Eco-parks such as Xceret, Scuba/Snorkel trips, sport fishing, etc. I would suggest NOT taking any timeshare tours or you will be subjected to a 3-4 hour hard sale! It's always better to do your research at home on your computer and buy re-sale, not from the developer.
Maid Service- All guests are required to pay for Maid service of unit for at least 3 cleanings per week long stay. One of these cleanings will be immediately after you checkout. Cost $20-$25 per cleaning. Guests may request additional cleanings.
