My husband and I have been coming to St. John for 10 years. We stay in our timeshare in Cruz Bay. We have always wanted to stay on the Coral Bay side, so we decided to extend our stay by staying 3 nights in Coral Bay. In doing research, I came across this (wonderful) Villa and booked it for our stay based on photos and reviews. Well, both could not have been truer to the truth. A Slice of Life was the perfect place for us to kick back, relax and enjoy great views. The villa was very homey and comfortable with all the amenities you would need, including a fully equipped kitchen, good size living space and bedroom, grill, access to beach towels and chairs, kayaks. The porch with hammock was delightful. Being on top of a hill, you get awesome breezes that keep the villa cool at night. The villa is close to fantastic beaches, to East End, and some fabulous restaurants. Fitz, the owner, is great! And we also enjoyed his cat Squeaky. A great, homey, comfortable Villa!
Owner response:thank you and squeaky appreciates honorable mention,Fitz

What a beautiful vacation we had! We booked our vacation with just one day lead time and the owner, Fitz, was more than accommodating to us. The apartment is exactly as described and pictured. It was very clean and well maintained with an incredible view of Coral Bay. The owner provided beach chairs, towels, and even sunscreen (we found the sun screen in the bathroom cupboard on our last day there, though). There is a full kitchen with stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, plates & utensils. There's also a gas powered BBQ grill on the deck which we used half of our time on the island. We made breakfast each day, bought lunch at the market, and spent our time wandering the beaches and trails on the island. The unit also has a great stereo system (with a few cd's of easy listening), HDTV, satellite television, and a hammock made to enjoy the great trade winds. Plenty of doors and windows for air circulation makes an A/C unnecessary. The beautiful trade winds will more than cool you down on hot days. Fitz also was nice enough to provide a Wi-Fi connection for us to stay connected if we so desired. Overall, an excellent place to stay and we hope to make it back to the island later this year for another "Slice of Life." :-)

We booked our visit with very little lead time, and John was very accommodating. He gave us detailed directions with landmarks, and although island roads can be comical (steep climbs, tight turns and donkeys) we found it quite easily. The unit was exactly as described, incredibly clean, well maintained. Upon arrival we got the nickel tour of the place, as well as helpful information about where to eat, where to snorkel and other practical suggestions. John even took us snorkeling in Francis Bay on a free afternoon (thanks for being patient with us newbies!). We made breakfast each morning, packed a lunch for the day, and even grilled out one evening. Great stereo, tv to catch weather reports, outdoor deck for morning coffee, binoculars to watch the boats in the bay. Nicely appointed, plenty of windows for air circulation, reading lamp by the little sofa, great countertop space for Bananagrams & cribbage. It was perfect for the two of us, and when we come back to St. John we're definitely staying at Slice of Life again.

My wife and I had never been to St.John and it was everything we'd hoped it would be. This place was just as advertised; neat, clean, great kitchen, amazing views from porch. The beach chairs, towels, and kayak were a bonus, too. Will definitely recommend this to any friends traveling to St. John and I hope we can stay here again in the future! Oh, and if you are going to buy groceries and cook, make sure you do your shopping on St. Thomas and bring them over on the ferry!

We had a wonderful time and Fitz, ( the owner), was a big part of that! An excellent value, probably the best on St John, perfect for the couple that just wants to get away, wants to be left alone without any hassles. Beautiful views from the covered deck, very clean property, everything you need is there. Thanks again Fitz for everything, cant wait to go back!

My husband and I were looking for an affordable place to sleep at night while vacationing on St.John. This home was perfect! It is below the owner's living space but we never heard a thing coming thru the floors. I'm guessing because our host is a builder he designed it this way. The views are exactly as pictured as are the photos included here and it was very clean. No surprises. John was a very nice host, although we hardly saw him while we were there. He never imposed on our space and seemed to keep to his own schedule. Although if we had shown a desire to ask more questions or have him help us more I am certain he would have made himself available. We're so accustom to staying in hotel rooms, so this was a 1st for us. The apt was bigger than I was expecting and had a full size frig & stove for your use. There were coolers that you could borrow along with beach towels and chairs. Our biggest excitement was the kayaks that we borrowed the whole time. In fact (not sure if this was ok) but we kept them tied down to our jeep the entire time. We just loved them and used them every day but 1. We also brought our own snorkel gear, so we basically hiked, kayaked or snorkeled everyday except the day we sailed on a boat out of Cruz Bay. John also has wifi for those that can't leave work behind. We tried a different restaurant and beach every day and loved them all. It was a really nice vacation. Thanks so much for being such a nice guy John. We really enjoyed your place and your kitty as well! I highly recommend this spot. FABULOUS views as well!

This immaculate property exceeded our expectations in every way! Peaceful and quiet with stunning views, you may find it hard to leave the tranquility of the porch. Add a warm and welcoming host and you will find "Slice of Life" to be perfection in paradise! Do not miss an opportunity to stay here.

We just returned from our second stay with "Fitz". His house is a great find in Coral Bay. The view is beautiful. We love to sit on the deck for coffee in the morning and evening meals. You are close to all the bars/restaurants. Francis Bay, which is the best beach in our opinion is a short drive. Thanks Fitz, you're the best!!

This is a great place to stay on St. John. The covered deck is huge and the views out to the BVI's are fabulous -- wake up early for at least one sunrise. The apartment is very spacious, spotlessly clean and the Queen pillow-top mattress is especially comfy. Plenty of windows open for a cross-breeze and if the winds die down there's ceiling fans in each of the rooms. With a complete kitchen plus a gas grill, you can cook as much as you like or pop down the hill to one of the many restaurants around Coral Bay. When the sun goes down, lie in the hammock to stargaze and listen as the tree frogs and birds create "jungle" surround sounds. Slice of Life is truly a great apartment and a great deal.
