- Touring the scenic Hudson, Mohonk Reserve and Catskill Forest for nature walks, rock climbing and beautiful views of the Catskills and Shawangunk Mountains. There are walks on the 15 acres (which includes a beaver dam at the very end of the property). The general area is ideal for long walks, boating and swimming in lakes. There is horseback riding, kayaking (2 kayaks come with the property). This property is very private - although one can see houses in the distance. Perfect for people who love nature, want privacy and yet want to be near restaurants and activities....moreless

This property is that rare rental find. You think twice about singing its praises, but it has too many merits to keep the place a secret. We loved it so much, we extended the rental period and many of our guests raved to us afterward that their stay in Kerhonkson was the highlight of their summer. The house is a comfortable, classic gem, a combination of elegant and simple that fits its mid-nineteenth-century origins. Just as remarkable are the sizable grounds and the siting of the property, which offers views of the Shawangunk Ridge and is well-shaded in large portions with an impressive variety of trees, right down to the towering catalpa in the front, right next to the old stone mounting block, certainly something you’re not going to see everyday. Being a relatively remote location, it’s not surprising that the local wildlife of all varieties are an active presence, not only the area’s healthy deer population but birds/raptors, horses on the nearby farms, frogs and koi in the ornamental pond, and occasionally at night you may hear the distant howls of another healthy population in the area, coyotes. Add to it all the pond next door for kayaking, the traditional stone smokehouse/outbuilding, the beautiful stone patio off the kitchen, and you’ll see why we and guests alike left this place raving about a great stay at a truly unique rental find.

Why the Owner Chose Accord:
This property is quiet, peaceful and beautiful but is only 4-5 miles from dining, entertainment, antiques shops and excellent food shopping in High Falls and Stone Ridge. Much closer to the house is a farm stand. The stone house, it's beautiful property and views remind us of the European countryside. During the autumn season the area is filled with color, pumpkin and apple picking are a few minutes away.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This house is furnished with unique pieces and has many of the original details including the original beams, the original 18th century large plank floors throughout, double Dutch doors, hardware and other historic details.
