The location is fabulous! My husband and I found the neighborhood to be interesting, very walkable, and full of nooks and crannies to admire. Locations with great food are all around including one right on the corner (the chocolate desert was heavenly). You are close to shopping, the Subte, buses, all you need to enjoy yourself. Definitely would go back.

A dream come true! This is what our trip to Argentina was, and Buenos Aires did not disappoint. A very important element of this most amazing trip was our penthouse at 1830 Thames in the desirable Palermo Soho district. It was perfect for my husband and me. We spent the month of November there, and it truly was our home away from home. Our first impression was just what I had hoped it would be. A lovely tree lined street with our attractive apartment building and our apartment on the 7th floor with the most wonderful front patio overlooking the trees and buildings; a neighborhood with many restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, book stores, men and women's clothing stores, leather and shoe stores, unique shops of all sorts, and all within walking distance. There was excellent transportation with very affordable taxis available every few minutes and buses at all intersections running throughout the day. We loved walking through the friendly streets of Palermo Soho and ventured to wonderful parts of the city like the Japanese Gardens, Evita museum, Buenos Aires zoo, botanical gardens, beautiful lush parks, and all not far from our apartment. At times, especially on rainy days we would stay in and prepare meals in the fully equipped kitchen and enjoy breakfast or dinner as we looked at the beautiful patio from the dining room or living room. The bedroom also has a small patio that oversees the other side of the building, a huge walk-in closet and two very nice bathrooms. And, by the way, a great TV, computer and cell phone were there for our use. I could go on forever on everything good about this great apartment, but one thing that was even better were the people that we interacted with that made our stay so enjoyable. First of all Thom, the owner. He is professional and quick to respond to all inquiries. Our transactions with him were easy and fast and he is, indeed, very generous with everything he provides for apartment residents. I also cannot say enough about the lovely Guille, the apartment manager, who speaks perfect English and responded to our calls immediately when we needed her. Her knowledge of the city and all it offers was very valuable to us, and she scheduled transportation to various locations for us when we had luggage and two day trips out of the city to an estancia, or to the airport. Guille was absolutely great! Also, the weekly housekeeper Myriam was friendly and very reliable. 1830 Thames, Wonderful!!!

I am a consultant who has been assigned to a long term project in Buenos Aires. After spending the first week of my assignment in a hotel in Palermo, I decided that I needed more space / the conveniences of a home. Valentino's Penthouse did not disappoint. As mentioned by previous reviewers, Thom is very generous with his possessions. Since my stay here, I have rented other apartments in Palermo, which have made me realize how above and beyond Thom has gone to make this a comfortable place to stay. Aside from everyday conveniences, this property has a couple of other features that beat out other properties around its pricepoint. The first is the balcony, the pictures don't do justice to how big it is / how much it extends the space in the living room. The second is the location, walking distance to great bars and restaurants and still quiet at night. I can't stress the quiet part enough. Unless you plan on partying like a porteno (all night), you'll probably want to go to bed at some point. This is not always possible in certain apartments / parts of Palermo, where the noise doesn't die down until sunrise and double pane glass is non-existent. The last are Thom and Guille (the property manager), they were both very prompt, attentive, and flexible and sincerely care about whether their guests are enjoying their stay. All in all, it was a great stay and I will be keeping my eyes open for its availability in the future.

My boyfriend and I stayed in this apartment for the month of September and were sad to leave. It's on a beautiful tree-lined, quiet street, just a few minutes' walk to all the hot spots in Palermo Soho. You can't walk more than 10 feet without tripping over another restaurant or funky boutique. The apartment itself is great - a home away from home. It's the perfect size for a couple, and I particularly liked that there's a laptop for your personal use. It's super-bright because of the decks on both sides, but is well-equipped with black-out curtains in the bedroom as an antidote to those very late BsAs nights! Best part of all was having an English-speaker on-site to welcome us and answer any questions we had about how everything worked. Guille was wonderful! Several of the best-known parrillas (essentially the Argentinian version of a steakhouse) in the city are walking distance away - in particular try la Cabrera - it's definitely touristy, but we had the best steak EVER there! A great place to stay, in by far the most interesting part of the city.

My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Valentino Penthouse! It is close to everything yet very quiet and private. The neighborhood is very safe and replete with restaurants, bars, boutiques, stores and two squares very nearby. The penthouse is very spacious with one large deck and a smaller one that afford beautiful sunsets and an area to sit outside and relax after a long day of visiting the city. It really felt like we were coming home when we returned each day. Guille, the property manager, organized an airport pick-up and return that was very reasonable ($30) and welcomed us to the city and penthouse. My husband stayed 7 nights and since I was working, I stayed on an extra 4 nights and felt totally safe and right at home. The square off of Costa Rica was our favorite only a few blocks away and shopping for purses at Florentina Murana (Borges 1760) is a must. The owner Gabriela and assitant Laura have the best offerings of real leather purses and wonderful handmade jewelry. Ask about the 20% discount for paying cash. The closest ATM we found was off of Malavia by the Starbucks in the back of the shopping center. The subway we preferred to take was Plaza Italia and is ony a short walk from the penthouse. There are also many buses that make this home so practical for visitors. Thom is very generous with his "stuff" as another guest mentioned. The safe worked great, the sheets and towels were top of the line, the bed comfy and the kitchen was fully loaded, even though we never cooked since the dining experience in Buenos Aires is outstanding and very reasonable. We can't say enough great things about the whole experience from start to end. Thank you Thom and Guille. You really made our stay special and we will always look forward to returning to this magical city and your lovely home.

We stayed at Valentino's Soho Penthouse for 2 weeks and it was wonderful!! We couldn't have asked for a better location. Everything was just as we hoped it would be - very comfortable and clean. Many times we commented on how happy we were as opposed to staying in a hotel - one morning it rained and we had a couple pots of coffee and just relaxed - something that would not be easy to do in a hotel! The bed was super comfy!!! Tons of mirrors and space in the closet and bathroom - the couch in the living area pulled out to a bed and was comfortable, too. The extra bath was a bonus. We loved the terrace/balcony! With 70+ degree sunny weather we were outside all the time. The kitchen had everything we needed - as I like to cook "vacation" omelettes instead of going out. The market "just around the corner" had everything - including a great selection of wine. No need to go to the bigger grocery store 6 blocks away! There are loads of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Not to mention the shopping!! Guille was such a nice surprise! She was helpful with any questions we had and met us at the apartment. She also arranged a driver to both meet us at the airport and drop us back off on our return :) We would definitely return to Thoms apartment and highly recommend staying there while in BA!!

We returned recently from our third month long stay at Valentino's Penthouse and have already booked for 2012. The apartment is very comfortable and meets all of our needs. It's most outstanding feature for us is the wonderful patio which we use daily. It's a great place to have a drink before heading out to one of the wonderful restaurants in the area. We've entertained our Spanish teacher from 2 years ago who comes with his family and cooks for us on the parilla--great fun! My husband developed and foot problem while we were there and had to limit his walking for a while, , but he found the apartment a great place to be semi-stranded. I felt totally safe going out for walks on my own in every direction from the apartment, including all the way into the city to Plaza de Mayo (about and hour and a quarter) from which I'd return by subway. Within a half hour walk are the Planetarium, the zoo, the Evita Museum, and lots of parks. There's a very good grocery store a block away and larger ones (Jumbo, Disco, and Carrefours) within a 20 minute walk. Apartment manager Guille, who speaks perfect English, is very responsive to any problems that may occur. She introduced us to a wonderful neighborhood restaurant, La Escondida, where we joined her for lunch. Myrian come is once a week to clean and does a very thorough job. We're already looking forward to our return next year to a great apartment in a great neighborhood in a great city.

Four of us spent a week in this apartment after spending a week at another apartment in Alto Palermo. Our only concern was whether the space would be big enough to accommodate all four of us. It turned out to be plenty spacious and the fold-out couch was very comfy and large enough for 2 adults (somewhere between a full and a queen size). A clean set of sheets was provided to fit the fold-out couch as well as a folding partition for privacy. This apartment was definitely our favorite of the two we stayed in because it was very clean, spacious, bright, and had all the modern ameneties we needed to make our stay perfect. Also, the location couldn't be better! Thom (the owner) was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with, and Guille (the manager) is a wealth of information about the area. We are very glad we chose to stay in Palermo Soho because it is safe, offers great shopping, restaurants, cafes, bars, and clubs. We only wish that we had more time here. It made a good launching point to visit museums in Recoletta, see historical architecture in San Telmo, and visit parks in Palermo. Having a cell phone and computer to use were just icing on the cake and made things (research, reservations, etc.) very convenient. I can't forget to mention how much we enjoyed hanging out in the rooftop jacuzzi and using the parilla (BBQ) to grill up delicious lomo, ojo de bife, and entraña. With amazing views and a bottle of local Malbec or Bonarda (both excellent with the meat), it provided us memories that will last a lifetime. We will surely return here on our next visit to BA.

We spent the month of November, 2010, at this wonderful apartment. Despite having read all the rave reviews, it still managed to exceed our expectations. Modern appliances and plumbing fixtures. Perfectly laid out. Back terrace off the bedroom for morning coffee, very large front terrace for sipping wine and snacking the rest of the day. Guille (the manager) couldn't have done more for us. (Guille in rioplatense castellano is pronounced: Gee-shay.) Wi-Fi worked flawlessly. And the location? It couldn't have been better. My wife and I are foodies. We have a passion for fine restaurants. Within a 15 minute walk from the apartment there were at least six excellent restaurants. About four doors from the apartment was Lele de Troya, where we probably dined ten times. The food was that good. Also, La Baita, La Retirada, Don Julio (fantastic rib-eye, but too big for one person; and in Buenos Aires there is no doggy-bagging). One of our ultimate favorites was Cluny, where we dined often on the patio. An intensely romantic setting. Our favorite outdoor cafe was Mama Racha, at the corner of Armenia and El Salvador. We had planned to cab to restaurants all over the city, but only left Palermo Soho once, to dine at Oviedo (excellent!) in nearby Recoleta. One tip: The open-air bus tour is work taking, for orientation purposes. It's hop on, hop off, but you can only purchase tickets at the corner of Calle Florida and Diagonal Del Norte and nowhere else along its route.
Owner response:Guest asked to make following corrections: Mama Racha, is located at Armenia and Costa Rica, not Armenia and El Salvador. The open-air bus tour is "worth taking" instead of "work taking."

We stayed here Oct. 2010 and very much enjoyed it. The apartment is in the best location of Buenos Aires. There is a grocery store, pharmacy and laundry service within 1 block. There are also the most amazing restaurants within a few blocks. All of the boutiques in Palermo are also within walking distance. The apartment itself is great, all amenities were there, a computer to use, full kitchen, house phone, cell phone, a safe and a great outdoor space. After a day we felt so at home! This place beats staying at any hotel.

At first we were steered to Recoleta for hotels, but quickly found that is not what we wanted. So we found this Palermo apartment and we stayed here for three weeks ending in July 2010. Suffice it to say that the location is fantastic and within a short walk to many well reviewed restaurants as well as all conveniences. (Think La Cabrera, Don Julio and the many trendy places nearby.) We found a decent gym about a 5 minute walk away and easily navigated public transportation. For the less adventurous, taxis are available on the street right outside 24 hours a day. Thom was easy to deal with and was very accomodating. Everything he promised about this place was true. One of the real gems was Guille who is your local host--she's a local BA native who speaks better English than some of my friends and can point you to anything you may need. She responded instantly to our texts and emails and became a friend. She's single too, so if you know anyone....uhh I digress.... Stay here if you want a nice quiet place in a great, safe neighborhood and way more space and comforts than you would get in a hotel. I don't give glowing reviews lightly but this place was exactly as promised and met all our expectations.

For those who have yet to discover the benefits of vacation apartment living - as opposed to hotels - you'll be spoiled from the start if you begin with this jewel of a penthouse apartment. Tucked away on a quiet tree-lined street in trendy, fashionable yet not-too-snooty Palermo Soho, you're easily within walking distance of anything your heart desires - fun restaurants, bars, clubs, grocery stores, laundry service, etc. And should you actually feel a desire to escape from the "hood," you need only step outside your door and raise your arm for a readily available, inexpensive taxi ride - or take a ten minute stroll to the metro. Of course, once you settle into your new pad and nurse a glass (or two) of wine on your private deck among the treetops of Palermo, you may find you need nothing more. It's a great combination of the best of Paris and New York with a splash of picante - but without the expense. And let's face it - I just adore a penthouse view. Recoleta I love you, but give me Thames Avenue...

We stayed in Valentino's Penthouse for ten days in November. Already on arrival we were welcomed very friendly by Guilles. We were really impressed by the tasteful interior design and the spacious terrace. You find everything for your daily need and also internet access. One block ahead is Cordial supermarket which has everything necessary. We felt very well and if we come back one day we sure will rent again Valentino's Penthouse!

Loved staying at Valentino's! I knew when I rented it that it was not available for my entire stay. After 5 weeks, when I moved into my new beautiful apartment in Recoleta, I kept longing for my Soho home. Thomas is very generous with his "stuff" which makes you feel more like a guest in a friend's home. The apartment itself is wonderful and in the perfect location within Soho. And then, there's Guille, who goes beyond words. I am already planning my return....

As if our opinion wasn't enough... every local was very impressed when we told them the area we were staying in. :) This is truly an AMAZING apartment! It's gorgeous! I think we took a photo from the bedroom every night of the sun setting- beautiful pink skies! The terrace is amazing too! I am a 'eat outdoor' girl and love being able to prepare dinner and sit outside and enjoy the muffled sounds of the city. Though you are in the middle of everything great, it is calm and peaceful as well. So wonderful!! The bed, super comfy! The shower so relaxing... and with a view! Two bathrooms!! A short walk to EVERYTHING! Internet access, cell phone, home phone, GUILLE!! The list goes on... Thank you Thom for making your fabulous apartment available to us!! To potential guests... do not hesitate! This place is fantastic!!

Our month in Buenos Aires was fun and very interesting. Having a comfortable base from which to explore was a critical piece of that enjoyment. The apartment is very well-equipped and maintained. Guille and Thom immediately addressed any question or minor problem. The terrace adds an additional room to the apartment in good weather, and there is always great light, a sense of being in a tree house. The plants added to the aerie feeling. The neighborhood has excellent restaurants—a month isn’t nearly enough time to try them all. Although we were not in BA for shopping, we found the quality leather goods an excellent bargain. We would be happy to recommend the apartment to traveling friends.

We are in complete agreement with all the postive comments that have been entered in this guest book for the Valentino's Soho Penthouse. Thom, the owner has thought of all the conveniences required for a pleasurable stay in this great area of Buenos Aires. Guille, manager, was extremely pleasant and very helpful. We especially enjoyed the wonderful light level offered on both decks and that the tree tops offered a wonderful green backdrop. We would highly recommend this suite. We spent considerable time when doing our research for a place to stay and by far this was the best unit we found and it was as good in real life as the photos. Enjoy....

The flat itself is very tastefully decorated, and offers all the confort anyone could possibly think of. What's most impressive about this flat is its exceptional terrace, which is spacious and offers a really inspiring view. Petit plus: a jaccuzzi on the roof... enjoy!

We have just returned from a four-week stay at Valentino's Penthouse in Palermo Soho (VRBO#98536) and enjoyed our time so much that we're planning to return next year. The accommodation was very comfortable and well-equipped; we made use of the balcony for our breakfasts and the wonderful patio for late afternoons and evenings outside. We left for a three-day stay at an estancia; when we returned we felt that it was great to be back home! The neighborhood was so pleasant with tree-lined streets and so many restaurants to choose from within easy walking distance. Grocery stores large and small were close by and the metro stop was about a ten-minute walk. We enjoyed the weekend markets at nearby Plaza Palermo Viejo and Plaza Cortezar. We visited lots of BA neighborhoods but were happy that we'd chosen this location. The apartment manager, Guille, was very accessible and handled any problem we had quickly and efficiently. We felt very lucky to have her so readily available. Miriam kept the apartment in great shape cleaning it weekly; we only wish we'd been able to communicate more with her! This was our first time renting an apartment and our experience with VRBO and with Thom Downey in particular was all that we could have hoped for. Everything went smoothly from start to finish and we look forward to returning.

Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well I have been here for almost a month now and I don't want to leave. This place is great, both Buenos Aires and and the apt. I do not think you could do better, I had a couple of friends come down for my 50th birthday. They each rented their own apts, my apt was the best by far and one friend payed a lot more. So stop your search if this place is available book it, you won't be disapointed. Thom and his fantastic manager Guille are the best and even the cleaning lady they use was great. I have not one complaint, well one, I do not want to go home. I am calling the airline to see if I can change my ticket to stay another week, just by chance the apt is available. I loved the area so much I am meeting with a real estate agent to look at buying in the same neighborhood. But it will be hard to find a unit as nice as this. Thanks again, a future tenant for sure! I rented this apartment for a month and I am extremely happy with it for several reasons. First, after having visited all the neighborhoods, I find Palermo Viejo to be far and away the best. If you like great restaurants, cafes, bars, people watching, walking, and outdoor green spaces, this is the place. The apartment is located within walking distance of all these as well as several grocery stores and a subway stop. The place itself is quality with nice furniture and two decks with gorgeous views. It is very special to sit out on the deck on a spring morning or during sunset with a glass of Argentinian wine. Thom (owner) and Guille (manager) are outstanding. The whole experience rates a perfect 10.
Owner response:Ed wrote upon his return... Thom, Guille, I'm back in California now and just wanted to say thanks for everything. My month in Buenos Aires was a memorable experience. I already miss it. Anything can happen when you travel around the world, but you guys made my stay in BA a first-class experience. Thanks so much. Buen suerte! ejp

Let Guille arrange a car for you from / to the airport Aldo and Luciano are great. It was so nice to arrive after an overnight flight and be welcomed by Aldo. A couple of fun places near the apartment: La Cabrera Cabrera 5099 y Thames (Awesome Parilla with great food and friendly service) Casa Cruz Uriarte 1658 (Ask Inez to make you your favorite cocktail, she is a master! Beautiful Restaurant as well) Bar Uriarte Uriarte 1572 (Great place for Drinks, Lunch or Dinner) Don't hesitate to book this apartment it is better then advertised! We will be back soon.

My son, age 14, and I stayed here for two weeks the middle of June. We had a blast. The apartment was perfect, right in the heart of everything. Location, location, location 100%; The apartment was large enough that my son and I were not on top of each other and we each had our own privacy. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the Soho area. Thom, the owner was great as was his assistant manager. Everything worked out fine, smooth transaction. Any questions, please feel free to contact me as I highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to be in the heart of the action.

Four of us stayed at the condo for a week in late May. Before leaving for BA, my son talked to a friend who had stayed recently in a hotel in the "Microcentro" (city center)area - the friend said he spent most of his time traveling to the Soho area - I knew that we had chosen the right location with the Soho Penthouse! Everything we wanted was within easy walking distance: ATM, grocery stores, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. La Cabrera is several blocks away and a particularly good restaurant that we highly recommend. When we ventured further, the subway was an easy walk. The condo was modern, comfortable, and exactly as described. We enjoyed playing cards on the large balcony each evening before going out to a late dinner.

My only regret about this wonderful apartment is that it was only available for 4 days of our 2 week vacation! But we savored every moment--it's beautiful, clean, comfortable and located in the best neighborhood. And the terrace! Lush with plants, sparkling sunshine, great lounge chair and terrific view! We were taken care of by Guille, the energetic, very responsible and lovely manager. And her English is perfect, which is a plus for me! (My husband is a porteno but my Spanish is very wanting...) Other accolades come from my husband: he is an architect who spent most of his life in Buenos Aires before coming to NY; he's an expert on BA and its buildings. So to say that he was VERY impressed with the apartment is a big deal! He loved everything about it (including Guille!) and was particularly impressed that we were provided with a cell phone (he has one that he keeps in BA with friends, but on our past visits he could never get in touch with me while I was wandering around town--this time we had no excuse.) So thank you, Thom and Guille, for providing us with a wonderful ending to our trip. We travel often to BA and hope that on our next visit we will be able to stay in the apartment longer than 4 days. I better book our next trip now!

We fly home tonight after 6 wonderful weeks in Valentino's Penthouse. The owner Thom makes a bold statement on his website that if you rent somewhere else you will be taking cabs here regularly. Boy is he correct. We have tromped all over BA and this is the location to be. A true neighborhood with tons of shops and restaurants...vibrant, safe, and so fun to walk around and explore. And a short 7 block walk to the subway gets you anywhere in the city quickly, cheaply, and safely. The apartment itself is wonderful. Everyone raves about the deck, and rightly so. A very relaxing and spacious place to spend a few hours reading or relaxing. The apartment is furnished with everything you need and it all is clean and in excellent working order. Finally, the maid does a great job cleaning and the local contact person is a gem...very responsive. We have absolutely no qualms about recommending this place. You will love it

We loved everything about Valentino's Soho Penthouse. From the moment we walked through the door, we felt comfortable and at home. The location couldn't have been better. The highlight of our stay was a bar-b-cue on the terrace with friends on New Year's Eve, followed by a 360 degree fireworks display on the rooftop at midnight. It was a truly unforgettable experience. What a great place to stay in Buenos Aires!

My wife and I stayed in Valentino's Soho Penthouse for 9 nights in Sep/Oct and have only words of praise for this fantastic, beautifully designed and furnished apartment. The larger of the two terraces was a favourite place for us to chill-out, have breakfast (great pastries from the local supermercado), dinner, a glass of wine (or two)and to take in the view. The apartment could not be better located in the heart of Palermo Soho, in our opinion the best area in Buenos Aires. It is no exageration to stay that there are enough high quality restaurants and bars to keep you busy for months. Taxis can be hailed right outside the front door, cheap and plentiful, to drop you off in the other barrios, if you can tear yourself away from Palermo Soho that is. We recommend this apartment for a memorable stay in BsAs.

We just stayed at this apartment for 8 days on our honeymoon in Buenos Aires. We absolutely loved everything about it. The location is wonderful! It is just a short walk to some of the city's best restaurants, shops and Palermo's famous parks. It is also centerally located so that a trip to another neighborhood is very convenient. The layout of the penthouse is very spaceous and comfortable, we felt at home right away. The neighorbood was very safe and always had something new to discover. We would definitely reccomend this apartment to anyone planning a trip to Buenos Aires!

My wife and I just spent 12 nights in this great apartment. The terrace is wonderful and we enjoyed how bright the entire place was becuase of all the glass sliding doors. Since we were in BA for this amount of time we really got to explore many of the barrios, and we think that this is the perfect location. Supermarket around the corner, coffee shop across the street, many bars and restaurants in this safe neighborhood. The sunsets were indeed beautiful to watch from the bedroom balcony. We will get back to Buenos Aires someday and would stay here again.

What a contrast from our first week in a San Telmo vintage flat to this sleek, chic and modern Soho Palermo penthouse! The bathrooms are right out of Dwell magazine- spectacular. Beautifully thought out comfort and details makes this place feel like home and made our stay easy. Great nearby food shopping for breakfasts and occasional stay home dinners, but those hip and stylish restaurants on every corner are always beckoning... We really fell in love with the beautiful big trees lining the neighborhood streets here. The ambiance is absolutely delightful. Wish we could have made more use of the large and lovely terraces, but weather was stormy at times or too chilly for outdoor relaxing. It was awesome to plug-in the IPod, get online and sip a delicious and absurdly cheap Malbec, taking in the expansive views. We are enthralled with Buenos Aires and would love to return to this Thames apartment for future exploration.

My wife and I just spent 10 nights here, and truly did not want to leave. The location is absolutely perfect...literally dozens of excellent restaurants, bars, and shops a two-minute walk away, yet on a quiet block with no street noise to interrupt the occasional early night. Lele de Troya is a great restaurant, but I have to mention Social Paraiso (3 blocks away), where I had one of the top 5 meals I've ever eaten. As for the apartment -- it was spacious and comfortable, with tons of natural light and those lovely terraces...I can't think of a single thing wrong with it. I also appreciated the additional conveniences like the wifi access and the cell phone, both of which came in handy more than once. We look forward to returning one day, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the apartment to friends.

The condo lives up to everything it advertises. The neighborhood of Polermo Soho is interesting because you don't appreciate the nearby amenities of the location until you have stayed a day or two. The market, the cleaner, and best of all a nearby ATM machine that works, at least by Argentinean standards. Taxis are abundant on Thames street, and I rarely had to wait more than five to ten minutes right from the front door. The patio deck is a charm and the largest of all the units in the building. This rental is a great value.

My wife and I stayed in the Penthouse from March 23-April 6, 2007. I am a paraplegic, and the Penthouse accommodated my wheelchair well, except the sinks are fairly high in the bathrooms. Other than that, I had no problems. The location is outstanding. There are at least 4 restaurants within 20 yards of the place, including Lele's, which is closest, and written up positively in many of the travel guides. Within easy wallking distance there are hundreds of restaurants, many, many good ones, and numerous upscale shops. It is an easy, but bit longer walk, or short cab ride, to Ave. Santa Fe, the Botanical Gardens, The Zoo, the Japanese Gardens and the Rose Garden. Cab rides downtown were only about 20 pesos (about $6 US). The neighborhood is comfortable, upscale, and very safe. No problems walking around outside late at night. We really enjoyed staying at the Penthouse, and having our "own" place while were were in Buenos Aires. The apartment itself is the only one on the floor, so provides great privacy.

If you’re looking where to stay in BA, add this up. Full floor, two terraced penthouse in the heart of Palermo SOHO. Brand new. A vibrant buzz that brings the Porteños here from all over the city. Walk to a different ethnic restaurant every day for three months (average cost for a three course lunch for two with wine and tip twenty dollars US. Take a cab anywhere in the eastern essence of the city for 3 to 5 bucks, seldom more than 15 minutes away. The apartment is perfectly, considerately and very tastefully laid out. Teak terrace furnishings you’ll use to breakfast, take coffee and read. The west terrace is the setting for a sundowner. Whatever turns you on is a whim away: Tango, world class art, and the city’s most extensive park complex, which includes enchanting Japanese and botanical gardens is right there in Palermo. If you’re a night-owl, SOHO closes down when the sun comes up. Oh to be single and younger: I have never seen so many beautiful people as pass by our corner, tree shaded café table. We drifted through a month in a pampered dream at Piso 7, 1830 Thames. Raise a glass to us, will you?Ed and Ethel Carchia

We rented this appartment February 2007. The appartment itself is comfortably secure, reached through a locked door at street level and then acessed by a lift to the penthouse level. One cannot fault the facilities. The decor is all brand new as are the funishings. We were the first to use the toaster, kettle and coffee maker, and have left it to others tobe the first to use the brand new microwave, cooker and grill outside on the terrace. Whilst the appartment itself is very comfortable, it is the terrace that made the place for us. With the glass doors open it is almost part of the living area. Plenty of room to have meals outside or to sunbathe..all lights are on dimmers so in the evenings you can adjust the many outdoor lights to be atmospheric. The best thing about the appartment however is the location. The supermarket, (which actually bakes its own bread!) is just one block away (5 mins at most) and on the same block there is a laundry, an internet cafe and a general kiosk. Plaza Serrano is 5 minutes away, where there is a weekend art fair and lots of pavement cafes. resturants are everywhere and the well known restaurant Lele de Troya is 2 doors down on the same road as the appartment. We also stayed at a property through appartmentsba 10 blocks away. It too had a hot tub on the roof ( albeit that it was private and the place had 2 bedrooms) but it was nowhere near as nice as this and was more than 3 times the price!!. I would recommend this as a great appartment to stay in.....at the right price......in the right part of town.

We had such an amazing 17 days in Buenos Aires, and one of the main reasons why is because this apartment is so beautiful. It's so new and clean and comfortble. The terrace is what makes the apartment a jewel, and the entire wall of sliding glass doors is magnificent. The apartment is intelligently decorated and designed, filled with small touches we really appreciated. We wound up spending more time at home than I ever would have expected, but it was such a pleasant, relaxing place to be. When I return to Argentina I look forward to staying there again, and would recommend it highly to anyone.

I rented for a month and will return, the apartment is great, nice view, beautifully decorated and comes with all amenities. The people renting it out are very correct and helpful. Above all, it is right in the middle of Palermo Soho, this is exactly where you want to be when staying in Buenos Aires

I am an American living here in Palermo. I´ve been watching the process of construction on this penthouse and am very impressed. It is a jewel in the middle of a fantastic area! Palermo Soho is filled with great restaurants, bars, unique shops, and a young, hip vibe. The penthouse has an amazing view with a giant deck to barbeque and enjoy the sunset, with a glass of malbec wine and some friends! This is a very special place to be able to rent.

A property like this right in the middle of a beautiful neighborhood such as Palermo is a one time opportunity. Its surrounding are abundant in coffee shops, restaurants, clothing stores, art galleries and other enjoyable surprises. As a local, I have to add that Palermo is one of the coolest areas in town regarding both entertainment and culture. Amazing place, awesome location. Really worthy to be enjoyed.Una propiedad de estas características justo en medio de un barrio tan hermoso como Palermo es una oportunidad única. This is my second time to Buenos Aires and love the Palermo Soho area the best. It has a lot of nice things to offer; good restaurants, shopping, entertainment etc. This penthouse is located where the Soho action is happening; within walking distance. I'd consider staying at this penthouse on my next visit because of its location and price and the amenetities it offers.
