Located on the "island" of Titusville--a small-town, historic neighborhood nestled between the Delaware Raritan Canal and Delaware River, this home is surrounded by the beauty of nature with easy access to New York City and Philadelphia. Birdwatchers will love red-headed woodpeckers, hawks, geese, ducks, grey heron, osprey, egrets and even the occasional bald eagle, regularly sighted. Bike or hike to New Hope, PA, or Lambertville, NJ via the canal tow path just steps from your back door, go tubing down the Delaware River--your front yard, or simply hang in the hammock on the front porch and watch the world go by.
The River House (non-smoking, no pets) is perfect for a family, or special romantic getaway with plenty to do. If you have a kayak or boat, you will love our waterfront access, just a stroll from the front steps. The waterfront deck includes plenty of space for enjoying each other and the view with a porch swing seating three, and two patio tables, each seating four. You are also welcome to explore the parks in our area with our two all-terrain mountain bikes, included in the rental price. This special home is for the discriminating traveler looking for a relaxing, romantic, scenic getaway with plenty to do if you choose, but also the perfect setting for doing nothing at all.
This beautiful home offers a master loft-like suite on the third floor with a built-in king size bed, and bathroom with shower nestled into the eaves; the second floor includes a bedroom with queen bed, bedroom with full bed, and children's room with a twin bed and toddler bed/crib, full bath. The first floor features a chef's kitchen with island for cooking and dining, eat-in area with table seating six, family room with large cable television, DVD player, VCR and CD player, powder room, and front sitting room with working fireplace. We also have a office area, for those using the space as a working vacation--great for writers and professors!
This lovely home is great for families with children, as it offers easy access to many fun things to do. We are within an easy one-mile stroll to the famous Washington's Crossing Park and the house faces Bucks County, PA, across the river). We neighbor the shops, restaurants and nightlife of New Hope, PA and Lambertville, NJ (a five-minute drive), and provide a convenient base for easy day trips to the Jersey beaches (one-hour drive), Six Flags Great Adventure theme park (30-minute drive) or the towns of Princeton (20-minute drive) or Philadelphia (40-minute drive). We are also close to many universities and colleges including Lehigh, University of Pennsylvania, Drexel, Rutgers, College of New Jersey, Princeton University and Rider University.
