Our lovely, 7 year young, sun-drenched home is available for rent in starting June 29th. The house is very cheerful, comfortably furnished and spacious. There is a reverse floor plan to capture the ocean views. Watch the sparkling Blue Sea as you dine on the covered porch or relax in front of the fireplace and watch the 55 inch smart TV with MediaCom cable. The house has Wireless Internet Access. The Master bedroom and full bath are on top level. There are two decks with Brown Jordan furniture and a dining table.
This house has a den on the first floor and four bedrooms and two baths. There are TV's in each bedroom.
NEW THIS SPRING. On the ground floor is a second Family room which is presently being constructed. The space will include a full bath and a butler's pantry with refrigerator and dishwater to provide clean up after cookouts on the Weber gas grill. There will also be a pullout sofa bed to allow this space to serve as a sixth bedroom. The family room flows out onto a new 10x30 in ground concrete pool which backs up to the woods of the Delaware State Parkland. The pool deck will have a dining table and six relaxing chaises lounges. The pool deck includes a covered porch under the first floor deck.
You can bike to town. Three adult bikes are provided. The house is large enough for multiple generations to share and set up with two bedrooms with queen beds and three bedrooms with Twin beds. The Master bath has a seated shower and double sinks in 3 or four bathrooms. There is also an AERO Bed so 12 can sleep comfortably. This house backs to parkland and is in a new 23 lot community called The Sanctuary in EXCLUSIVE North Bethany. There are 8 miles of state beach parkland 5 minutes drive away. The town beach is one mile away accessed at 5th Street in town or the Indian River Inlet both a short distance from our home. There is no sales tax and lots of outlet shopping, fishing opportunities, crabbing, and sailing for those that are not beachcombers.

Great house with plenty of room and very clean/new!! We had a girlfriend's weekend with 6 picky women and everyone of them loved the house and accomodations. I have been renting beach houses for 15 years and this was by far a new favorite. We'll be back for sure! (Assuming we can get a spot with all these great reviews the house is getting :-))Recommended for: Girls getaway.

We loved staying in the home over 4th of July week. The four sets of fireworks we saw from the balcony off the great room were awesome. The house was clean and the pictures on the website are completely accurate. Very close to town and the beaches. The house had everything you would expect and more. Great to have a grill for cookouts since we did not want to go out every night. The owners are very nice to work with also. Upon arriving we alerted them to a problem with the garbage disposal that was not working and they had a repairman over within an hour to fix it. We enjoyed our stay immensely. In fact we have been a few times and the kids love it, including our 4 year-old who wants us to live there!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our family stayed in this house for our nieces wedding during her wedding last September. The house was perfect for us, we were a group of 10 family members and the house has plenty of room to spread out so no one felt like they were on top of each other. The owners were so accommodating and made renting the house a breeze. We even were able to extend our visit a few days so we could relax after the busy wedding weekend. The house was clean, cheerfully decorated and was so well stocked. They truly had everything. We will be back for sure.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers.

I stayed in this house and found it to be very nicely furnished, close to the beach and nice restaurants, but far enough away to be a bit private. The description of the house matched with the amenities offered. The property was very clean and everything in the house worked great! Nice quiet neighborhood, not too far from Washington. I would highly recommend this property to anyone -- a family or a group of friends. The owners were vert easy to work with! There is a seafood restaurant just a block away that is fabulous!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Loved this house!!! The pictures are totally accurate. This house is very clean, beautifully decorated and most of all very comfortable. We just stayed for Easter and were thrilled with our accommodations. The great room has 2 love seats and sofa surrounding the fireplace which was very cozy for our family to gather. The house is also very well stocked and we had everything we needed for a big family dinner. My wife is a interior decorator in Washington DC and has high expectations . If you are looking for a beach house that is truly a home, this is it. The owners really took the time to furnish and decorate it tastefully and were great to work with too. They told us about the addition and pool coming soon, we can’t wait to get back down this summer once it’s complete.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.

My whole family stayed for Columbus Day weekend, and we all loved this house. It is perfect for all ages. The house was bright, immaculately maintained with lovely decorating. There was plenty of space, both inside and out, for the whole family of all different ages and the layout is perfect for everyone to spread out. The furniture was comfortable, and everything was in great working order. It is very near town, and we rode bikes to the beach each day and even swam in the ocean in October! I grew up going to Bethany Beach with my parents who rented many houses. We never found a house we wanted to stay in more than once until now. Staying in this home has started a new tradition for us. We look forward to coming back next year.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We paid for a week; left after five days. Completely dilapidated. Bookshelf falling over, sofas were sunk in. We found bugs, alerted owners. Owners offered no partial refund, nothing. Would never stay there again.Owner response: Please read the positive reviews renters have submitted about our home. This renter decided to leave early, leaving four of her family members still occupying our home. Our first priority is to make our renters stay an enjoyable one. Our home is thoroughly cleaned and checked for damage between renters. Our local property manager resolves and quickly addresses problems if something is amiss. In seven years of renting to wonderful families we have never before, as evidenced by the independent reviews above, run into ANY unhappy renters. I am happy to say that for the benefit of our new renters, enhancements for the 2013 season include a new in ground pool, elevator, and family room adjacent to pool.

My family and I loved the house. It had plenty of space and was very relaxing and kid friendly. We took the 15 minute drive to Rehoboth Beach which was beautiful too. I will definately come back.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a great time! Whole house is roomy and comfortable. TV's downstairs only take VHS and upstairs TV has DVD player. We took our Karaoke machine and had a blast! Beach is close by and the boardwalk is close by! Near the boardwalk there is also a nice big playground for kids! Can't wait to go again next year! Owners were great to work with too!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, The Sanctuary:
We live in Washington, D.C. and love to head to the ocean whenever possible. The beach was recently replenished by our last Fall storm which brought sand and increased the size quite a bit. There are miles of state beaches within a five minute drive of our home. The town beach and boardwalk is a mile away.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our house is located in the Sanctuary, a new community situated adjacent to Delaware State parkland. This provides a natural setting for migratory birds and sightings of heron and bald eagles. The sun rises over the ocean and sun sets over the parkland are amazing.
Being so close to town, we love going to concerts at the bandstand on the Bethany Boardwalk and going to see the Shorebirds baseball games at the Frank Perdue Stadium. Bethany is a wonderful place and very family friendly. It is also fun to take a picnic to Assateague Island for the day to see the ponies!
