We just returned from our second stay at Ski Bear Cabin and truly had a wonderful time. The cabin is very comfortably furnished, clean and well equipped! It is nice to stay somewhere that is truly a home, not a generic rental. The cabin is very kid friendly for kids of all ages. It is clear that a lot of thought has been put in to making the cabin safe for children. Our 2 year old has his favorite toys there, our dogs have their favorite look-out spots, and we really appreciate the wi-fi! Craig is very helpful and flexible, a pleasure to work with.

This home is so nicely layed out, with the vaulting ceilings, large kitchen and eating area, and spacious family areas. We had a relaxing time, cooked yummy meals in the kitchen, and slept peacefully in the comfortable rooms. We brought "gramma" with us and she did great because everything she needed was on the main level, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, eating areas. We had a ball in this multi-level home with our 3 year old son, 7 year old dog, and "gramma" along too.

Skibear is a wonderful place and Craig did everything imaginable to make us feel welcome. We spent a week at Skibear over New Year's with 7 people including 3 kids, and three generations from ages 2 to 60. The skiing at Bear Valley was great. The sledding was maybe even better (especially in the opinion of our 2 year old!). Skibear was a great place to return to after a day outside the High Sierras. The kitchen is nicely finished, the cabin is well appointed, and kid friendly. We would definitely recommend it.

We loved this cabin! It was open, cozy, and nestled in the trees. Everything you'd want in a cabin, plus it has been completely updated with the touches you'd want in your own home. If the cabin weren't comfortable enough on it's own, the owner makes sure that every need is attended to. His thoughtfulness is evident in the packet he sends to you with driving directions, attractions, opening and closing the cabin and so on. But he doesn't stop there - he communicates with you and accommodates you by answering questions about the area, the cabin, and even offered up his personal belongings for our use. (These being things like snow clothes for the kids, of course, so sorry to dash the hopes that there might be an Escalade parked in the garage with a personalized keychain...) I read a couple of other reviews about him and thought, "Okay, he's a nice guy, but what does that have to do with the cabin?" You'd be surprised and how far a little thoughtfulness can go. We felt like honored guests staying in what is clearly a nice family's home. It's baby proofed, heated before you arrive, and he will call to check that you arrived safely and have any questions. All you have to do is show up and drop your bags in this happy cabin. Oh, and it's scrubbed clean within an inch of it's life. I would like the name of the house cleaner and want to see if she/he will relocate!!

Four adults and a 13 year old with his dog recently had a very enjoyable four night stay at the Ski Bear Cabin over the Thanksgiving holiday. It is a nice, comfortable, well laid-out house with ample amenities and video entertainment. Craig is a pleasure to deal with and his thorough, detailed pre-arrival information packet facilitates a smooth rental experience. Would not hesitate to return nor recommend it to others. The Taylors

Incredibly beautiful home!! Most hospitable hosts!!! We had two families, 8 in all. The house was so accommodating to us all that we never felt like we were stepping on each other. The Association pool and lake were so much fun for us all, especially the kids. They had activities for the kids and relaxation for the parents. Perfect time. We loved it there. Thanks for offering up such a wonderful place to vacation for the summer. Hope to stay there again.

Don't even think twice! This is a fantastic rental for your family and Craig is the ultimate owner. The advance packet was very helpful and I would rate the hospitality well over the top. The home and area is great for a family looking for a fun filled summer vacation away from the flashy neon tourist attractions.

Ski Bear Cabin is fantastic! This was our best vacation since our daughter was born two years ago. The house is perfect if you have a toddler (toys, cribs, baby gates, etc.!), but it has plenty of amenities to keep the adults happy (beautifully decorated rooms, well-appointed kitchen, warm and cozy living room, comfy king bed). The views are beautiful and the quiet location at the back of Blue Lake Springs is so restful. The owners are also very gracious, and the rental went so smoothly (they thought of everything!).

We had a wonderful time staying at Ski Bear Cabin. The owner, Craig is very thoughtful and thorough--the information packet he sent prior to our stay expedited a smooth arrival, cabin opening, and cabin closing. The accommodations were very comfortable, and we felt completely at home. The cabin is well stocked with entertainment so you never have to leave if you don't want to--children's toys (toddler), air hockey, Xbox, videos. Thanks Craig for a wonderful stay; we will definitely want to rent Ski Bear Cabin again.

The whole experience of renting this cabin was great. The information packet received about the cabin and surrounding area prior to getting there was very useful and organized. The cabin itself was beautiful and much more than we expected. It was a great setup for an extended family vacation and extremely child friendly. We would highly recommend this cabin as a vacation spot for anyone looking for some relaxation and fun in the mountains!!

Very nice place for my company's Exec Team retreat. Quiet with just the right amenities to satisfy the discerning tastes of luxury for a rental property. They want to come back to birdie hole #17 at the club! Cheers!

Had a great time with the kids. Cabin is updated, modern and lovely..not musty and old like others we have rented. Love the deck! Thanks for the fun weekend!
