Why the Owner Chose Winter Star
This area is closer and easier to get to than those in Summit County and the skiing is fantastic. Even more so with the recent expansions and new lifts and village added by Intrawest in the last couple years.
Owner's Map of Winter Star
Our townhome was a the result of a dream shared by parents on Cape Cod and grown children living in Boulder. We bought it pre-construction. We chose a unit with fantastic views and were able to add a number of special features such as the built-in TV, surround sound, extra recessed lighting, taller kitchen cabinets, etc. Then decorating and furnishing was a joint family effort guided by interior designer/mom Linda. Our dream came true and the result is even more wonderful than we imagined. We love spending time there together enjoying the skiing and the mountain views. Mom and dad have lived on Cape Cod near the ocean all their lives, but now they love the mountains and views from our ski home almost as much as the ocean.

The condo was really well equipment and our group had a wonderful time on our first visit. We liked it so much that we returned a second year. The property was clean and well maintained and the owners were quick to answer any questions. The view of the mountains from the livingroom was fabulous. We like to cook most of our meals rather than eat out and the kitchen was well equiped. Our group consisted of three couples and we really like having bathrooms for each couple. The bunk room had a couch in which was really nice to use a a quiet place to read a book or catch up on work (I know - we were supposed to be vacationing!). We specifically wanted a hot tub that was a common hot tub for the complex because we had had trouble with owner provided hot tubs. This hot tub was well maintained, never crowded, always warm and had great views. After a day of skiing, the grocery store and liquor store were right on our way home! What's not to like about that!
Owner response:Laura and her husband and the two other couples stayed at our townhome for a week on each visit. They were very nice and we were glad they were able to return another year. We still keep in touch. Staying several days or a week really gives you time to settle in to enjoy the experience. The time there still seems to go too fast, but we encourage you to come for for more that a weekend if you can. Watching the sunrise light up Byers Peak from the master bedroomr becomes a morning ritual- breathtaking. Standing at our kitchen sink to make the morning coffee you look out at an expansive view of the Great Divide- a special way to start the coffee and the day. We hope you will come and enjoy too. Linda

Brian and family loved our location and our WinterStar unit. They liked it so much that they bought a place of their own just around the corner. We became friends through the rental experience and still keep in touch. We compare notes on cleaning companies and sometimes refer renters to each other. It is now Oct 2010 and we just exchanges update emails again....
