Thank you for the fantastic long weekend! We had a wonderful relaxing time in the fishing cabin and appreciate all of the extra help you gave us. From the personal escort to the boat laoding ramp to the extra boat trip you all took to make sure our boat was running smoothly, you definately went above and beyond while allowing us to visit your wonderful cabin. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. Sorry I didn't schedule more time to just hang out at the cabin & lake. Teddy & Cosmo had fun making friends with Cleo & Rusty. Thank you so much for letting our families stay to enjoy the outdoors over the weekend. The boys loved playing with the dogs & running wild, the girls loved playing "house" on the back deck. P. S. Something I found in the cupboard in the cabinet (above the sink) is a poem I like very much and will cherish, "THIS NEW DAY IS GIVEN TO US UNCLUTTERED, FRESH & CLEAN", "YESTERDAY'S TROUBLES ARE IN THE PAST", "TOMORROW'S MAY NEVER BE SEEN." I felt I could truly relax and enjoy the moment at the cabin!

We had a wonderful time at the "Byrd's Nest". Truly a wonderful vacation spot! Joye & Charlie you are such great hosts! I very much enjoyed swiming and boating on the lake and the peaceful evenings sitting out on the deck and watching the night sky. "Bear" my dog enjoyed the freedom at the cabin and grew fond of having Chole to play with. Thank you so much.

Thanks for a wonderful, restful, vacation. Your hospitality was so great from the boat rides, fishing and just the long conversations getting to know one another. Quinton, Alex and Susie had a ball catching all those fish. But let's not forget my mother "Annie" who enjoyed fishing as much as Alex. We felt so much at home and truly was blessed with all the comforts of the cabin. Everywhere we looked we saw "God" smiling down on us. "A little piece of Heaven"!

We spent 5 nights at the Byrd Nest and this is just what I needed. Secluded, quite, and lots of nature to enjoy. We saw deer, fox, lots of birds and the frogs singing every morning and every evening was wonderful. The host, Joy and Charlie, are the most amazing people. They went above and beyond renters to us. They took us on the pontoon, out do dinner with us and a joyful ride up a very curvy mountian road and the conversation with them was remarkable. Thank you for a great, relaxing week. We really enjoyed our stay.Our first fishing trip of the year. The men & kids enjoyed the fishing, I enjoyed cabin, fishing & watching my family slow down and enjoy each other. Angela enjoyed the quite as she graded papers during spring break. My favorite part was the hospitality & fellowship with our friends & both of u. But it is obivious there is a whole community of wonderful friends and neighbors here. Thank you for spending time with us & making this and enjoyable trip.

"Four teachers spent their Spring Break here, drinking wine and looking for deer.Came all the way from Fort Worth. Eating too much-increasing our girth.No resturants open on Sunday nite! 'til we hit Paris and the Dari-Delight.Cabin & hospitality are first rate - you 2 R are great. As we say good-bye - we know we'll be back. Charlie didn't scare us with that bear track. This tranquil cabin has been a wish come true...Our spirits lifted & our friendship grew. A perfect get away!Be Back Soon

We were there over Valentine's day and had lots of snow!. Barb took extra care with the directions to make sure we could get there. The cabin is well stocked and very homey. Close to many things but for the most part we just relaxed, made fires and watched birds and enjoyed the very peaceful quiet. Cabin very clean, as described/pictured (although one bedroom has part spindle walls that are open, which is obvious from pictures after you are there but was not previous-not an issue for us but might be for 2 couples). Barb was very helpful and friendly. We definitely will be back.

Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Wow, just what we wanted - peace and quite - water - trees - a chair and a book.....we were all set. We had the whole gambit of weather - rain, clouds, thunder & lighting and lots of heat. Lodi left a bone buried in the area somewhere. Lodi had a grat time. We got a tiny bit sunburned - had lots of fun in the water. . Thanks for a great vacation

After a "rocky start" our week here was awesome. The clouds blowing through our faces on Mt. Magazine was like we were flying with them! The climb up Mt. Nebo was quite a trip. The fishing here was fantastic! Took a cooler of catfish and perch home to have a fish fry with family & friends. Bea & Randy were great! The trip to Piney Bay was beautiful - we went back again. Hope to meet you both when we return again. Hope U enjoyed you trip to Michigan.

This was the perfect place for a Memorial Weekend get-away with our "pup". We had a wonderful time cooking, reading, swimming and eating! Thank you for taking us around the lake on the party barge and suggesting the hike. "Sampson" will miss his new friends "PupPup & Rusty".

Second year fishing while at the "Byrd's Nest". Third year at ABOFT Fishing Tournament. Had a great time. Charlie & Joye are super sweet. They always make us feel welcome. We had our daughter, Kristian and her husband, Christopher, with us this year. Will have a grandson in September! Thanks for the help with the trailer! That Ford helped the Chevy!!!

We truly enjoyed our stay at "Byrd's Nest". All the brothers & sisters had a blast. Thanks for the boat tour, the views are breath taking. A truly wonderful, life renewing visit to beautiful Arkansas. This is a love note of sorts, things I'm going to miss ....dearly! Hosts and now friends, Joye & Charlie, kind - generous, fascinating, Wonderful neighbors, including Molly & Frenchie, Bea and Randy. Joye's motto "I work hard and I play hard." Sweet Charlie always good for a rendition of the "Menifee cheer." Best friends for life, PupPup & Rusty. PupPup has the softest mouth! Hope all future guests bring dog treats to share. A bucket of fresh water on the doorstep is always appreciated! They are "my dogs", my horse "Dakota" please greet him. He loves apples cut in half, often! He knows he belongs to me! "My house" on the rock Easter sunrise on the point w/"my dogs" down by the woods. Dinner Bucket - biscuits and gravy and don't miss the chocolate icebox pie. Best Burger and fries at C.J's. A. Q's Chicken House...will never have fried chicken again without honey! Be sure to visit Charlie's Razorback room; and take the Pig Trail to Fayetteville if you can. Mount Magazine is nature at her finest. Go to Paris, yes, Paris, Ar. Visit the nearby wineries and also, St. Mary's at Altus. I'll miss Garvan Woodlands Park and "my" 100,000 tulips and Senic Hwy 7. Rides in the Mule, boat rides on the Barge, knitting with Joye. I'll miss fabulous fires in the fireplace and the gas firepit on the deck. We'll miss grilling steaks for breakfast. I can go on and on....I'll miss the STARS, the full moon on the water, the sounds of frogs and birds. Look for the brightly colored blue birds. This has been the spring of a lifetime watching bare trees, bud, then leaf out in a matter of days. The progression of flowering bulbs and trees....Notice "my" redbuds and dogwoods! Mine~! I'll never forget our trip to Little Rock and the Clinton Museum. My visit to Ft Smith & the casino. Water, Water, Water - never knew Arkansas had so much beautiful WATER! I'll always think of AR when I see Mustangs. I'll miss the biggest Razorback fans I've ever met. Treasure this slice of heaven. Love these people. I'm going to miss all of it, after my extended visit. Woooooo PIG Soooie!!! Randy & Lee - Whitefish, MT - You're lucky if you get to visit!

It was so nice to have the whole family together to have our belated Christmas here, and, there is no better place to have it than this little cabin. Ethan, Eli & Caden really enjoyed it too. Jimmy and I enjoyed seeing them all play together. We look forward to coming back when it gets warmer so they can get outside and play with Puppup and Rusty, and Belle will be big enough to play too. Can't wait to come back!!!!! We also enjoyed you & Charlie coming over to eat good cajun food with us.

Cindy, Jackson, Henry & John Tee truly love this place - had so much fun with target practicing and exploring the woods and lake shore. They all fell in love with Rusty and PupPup!!! They made good escorts to the "third pole"!! It was a perfect time for Jackson's first deer hunt with Uncle Gary Don ----your cabin is a magical place ---- three days and the kids watched mabe 1 hour TV!!!.................Cindy and I enjoyed the cold - beautiful sunrises, still curious if the Duck Hunters bagged out or if all the shots found air. Everything was great and beautiful - we will definitely be back. LINDSAY & CHARLEY This one here comes from "speedo man". I enjoyed the stay alot. Us yankees we will be back for sure. Frenchy was a blast he made me smile. The whole trip was a blast and I don't want to leave but I will come back and maybe I can meet Jamie next time!!!. JEREMY

Submitted from the cabin guest book: "I am so relaxed I can't remember the date." Tim and I had a wonderful time in this beautiful part of Arkansas. Joye & Charlie, your friendliness was so awesome from the 1st night fish-fry at the neighbors, to boat rides and great info on the area We toured all over but our favorite place was at your wonderful cabin, on the deck. Maggie & Zina loved their visit too. I hope they didn't bark to much. Your yard, flowers, butterflies, lightening bugs, dogs, the lake all ungorgetable. We will be back!
