If you are looking for a gorgeous, log cabin in the heart of the mountains, then you have found your dream vacation home! This beautiful three bedroom cabin is situated on six acres of lush forest and boasts a rustic feel, yet it has all the luxury amenities you need! For this reason, we named it Skip's Bearly Rustic Cabin!!
As you approach the cabin, be prepared to see deer, rabbits, squirrels, birds, and if you're really lucky, possibly a bear! As you enter the cabin, you will be surrounded by adorable bear motif, lots of windows, a gorgeous modern wood kitchen with all the extras, a stunning stone fireplace, and a cozy living room! Relax on swings and rockers on the porch and enjoy the wildlife!
The cabin has a rustic yet elegant feel to it, with its beautiful hard wood Oak floors, romantic quilts, and bear decorations in every room! The beautifully decorated master bedroom has a king-size bed, large windows which bring nature's beauty inside, and it's own bathroom with shower. Upstairs are two bedrooms-one with a Queen-size, one with daybed with pop-up trundle, great for kids or adults! Upstairs bathroom has a bathtub/shower combo.
Cozy up by the rustling fireplace and have a romantic evening in this rustic yet romanic cabin! Share a bottle of wine (or apple cider) and nibble on some homemade peanut brittle on the porch and watch the birds feed on the feeder! Or make it an adventurous vacation by taking advantage of all the outdoor activities the mountains have to offer from biking, hiking, tubing and rafting, to scenic driving, shopping at the German inspired nearby town called Helen, or just cruising around!
We are less than 1 mile from Vogel State Park, 2 miles to Helton Creek Falls, 2 miles to nearest trailhead! Eat at the famous Suzanne's on the River just minutes away for a real country breakfast, lunch, or dinner and watch the tubers go by!! Then shop at cute little boutiques!! Don't miss the old fashioned mill on the way home!!

Hike to the top of Blood Mountain, or up Georgia's tallest mountain, Brasstown Bald, overlooking 4 states at the peak! Bike down famous Richard Russel Highway and induldge your senses! Then stop for fresh Georgia peaches, pecans, fried pies, and peanut brittle just up the rode at the charming Sunrise Market! For unbeatable beauty and serenity, hike up to Helton Creek Falls or De Soto Falls! Take a journey down a lazy river on a tube and stop at Pappy's Trading Post for lunch! Don't forget to stop and visit charming riverside shops and try fresh fudge and kettle corn! A must do for the adventurer in the group is White Water River Rafting on Ocoee River less than 1 hour away (category 4)! Or take a ride on a real steam engine train down the great Smoky Mountain Railroad!

My name is Michele, and my husband and I are blessed with a beautiful baby girl born February of 2009! We are using the money we make from rentals to pay for our daughter's college!!
Why the Owner Chose Blairsville
I didn't actually buy this property. My father had always dreamt of having a log cabin in the mountains and back in 1994 he bought the lot and eventually built the house years later. It was meant to be a vacation home for us, but he is no longer alive. It is still my vacation home, but like I said, the money being made from rentals is being saved for our daughter's college fund!
The Unique Benefits of this Log Cabin
Being a native Floridian, I am so impressed with the fact that the North Georgia Mountains is the closest place we can visit with the most impressive geological changes! You go from flat land and no scenery to mountains and lush green trees soaring in the sky!! I love the fact that there are deer on the property and we can pick blueberries off the bushes when in season! When we wake up in the morning and open our eyes, we become aware of the absolute serenity of being 1,200 feet above sea level, away from people and close to the birds, crickets, and fireflies! It's so incredibly quiet and peaceful and we love reconnecting with nature! We love hiking to the numerous waterfalls in the area and seeing the views!
