Like one of the other reviews, I almost didn't write a review because I wanted to keep this one a secret for my family! We stayed at the house with two adults, our two little ones, our dog and it was perfect. The house is easy to find, easy to get to off the freeway and was a great home base for our visit. I love downtown, my husband goes to the mountains on the west side and we have relatives we need to visit up north. This place was perfect. We also found it is close to America the Beautiful park, one of the best I've ever seen for kids and found a dog park on 21st street that said it was rated one of the top 10 in the nation.Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us.The beds were comfortable and it was so much nicer and easier than staying in a hotel, and a much better value. It was immaculate, quiet and stocked well, even lots of extra fluffy towels and linens which we never have enough of at hotels/. We were located just a few blocks from downtown and also spent a lot of time at Shuga’s, the little cafe around the corner (so convenient!) and sat outside enjoying the gorgeous Colorado weather on their patio. I just can't say enough, we will definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed here during our visit to Colorado Springs and loved the home. It was clean and comfortable and was equipped with everthing we needed during our stay. Our dog enjoyed being able to play in the yard and the front porch is a perfect place to relax with a glass of wine (which we did ). Lori did an excellent job providing us with information regarding the rental and great places to go. Restaurants and attractions. This was our first experience in booking a VRBO and we are completely sold.!! We will stayy there again on our next trip... We highly recommend the property .... !!

I had the pleasure of staying here over the course of 5 days and I couldnt have been happier. The home itself is nicely decorated and kept very clean. The landlord was so friendly and accommodating and the location was perfect!! Just close enough to beautiful downtown Colorado Springs for sightseeing but just far enough away, that when we wanted our peace and quiet we had it. I will absolutely be staying here when we visit Colorado again!! Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!

We just had our third stay at Lori's cottage. As usual it was comfortable and warm. Bailey, the dog, has now decided that this is her "vacation home". It is nice to have the use of the kitchen, washer and dryer. Had a very very nice dinner at Blue Star on south Tejon this time. Lori is prompt to respond to inquiries and will answer your questions. Thanks Lori.

And it was.... we really wanted to come back in February, after a fantastic Thanksgiving stay. We couldn't picture ourselves staying in a hotel over the holidays, and wanted to bring our dog. The house was very clean and well equipped. We checked in at 2pm and were eating turkey by about 6ish! It was perfectly situated for our needs.

This cottage was overall nice-- has a few pluses and minuses however. Positives: Comfortable. Nice furnishings. Fenced yard for dogs. Close to downtown. Mountain view from house very nice. Minuses: Location questionable. Yes, it is near downtown, but is not in a very desireable neighborhood. We saw many homeless people throughout the day wandering around. Also, neighbor even warned us not to walk outside at night with our dogs. The linens and towels badly needed to be replaced. Many had holes in them or were obviously soiled. Pots and pans were old and dirty. Curtains did not fully cover windows and could be seen through at night. Cable TV could have had a better package. There were barely any channels.
Owner response:I’m not really sure how to respond to this comment. In over 5 years I have never received a review like this. Please check my other comments and see that all of my other guests have loved staying here- I’m sure you will too! I have plenty of clean sheets and towels- the only thing I can come up with to warrant this statement is they mistakenly pulled something from my cleaning stash. The trendy restaurant a few blocks away, an eclectic coffee/wine shop on the opposite side of the block, a sports bar down the street, the Convention and Visitors Bureau 3 blocks from the house- all draw a diversity of clientele and create the downtown atmosphere. I am bewildered by the comment from the neighbor – we always felt safe, at home, and enjoyed walking to nearby establishments in the evening. This guest posted their review 6 months after they stayed and the Teflon pots and pans have been replaced with more durable style. The bedrooms have hotel grade black out curtains. The living room has mid-rise curtains to allow the Colorado sunlight radiate through the house while still allowing privacy. I do understand that everyone has different privacy needs, however, and will immediately install shades for my guests comfort. As always, I appreciate my guest’s feedback and I look forward to ensuring your stay at my home enhances your visit to beautiful Colorado Springs.

This house is easy to find and the location is excellent. It was very clean and the beds were WONDERFUL!! I slept better here than at home. Loved hearing the train whistle. Also enjoyed eating at the nearby Old Depot Restaurant. It was so nice to be able to let the dogs outside without worrying about them escaping. The neighbors were quiet and friendly. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends and, hopefully, we will get to visit again. Thanks, Lori!!

This is our second stay at Lori's house. We have a cadet at USAFA and really appreciate the fact that there are separate bedrooms. The house is very comfortable and has everything you have a home including Internet. Lori is excellent to work with and booking is very easy.

Located close to highways that easily take you to tourist attractions, restaurants, parks and shopping (grocery) centers. Close to Colorado Spring's Memorial Park, which was a great place to walk the dog and walk/run around the mile loop circling the lake. It also had great playgrounds for the kids, plus tennis courts, etc. It was nice to have your own place with a kitchen and washer/dryer that you can use when you wanted. Would stay there again when visiting the area.

This house was perfect for us. My daughters could sleep in and I could get up and have coffee without disturbing them. Very close to downtown and at a location that was easy to get on a major street and "see the sights". This is definitely going on our list of "places where we will stay again."

Thank you Lori for sharing your wonderful home. It was the ideal "home away from home" during our family's vacation. My boys enjoyed not having to share a bed & it was so convenient to be able to cook our own meals in the well-furnished kitchen. Definitely a money saver! It was also very easy to find our way to all the various attractions from the house. We will definitely stay there again if we ever make it back to the Springs.

Thanks for the home away from home. The house was so cute and cozy, and such a bargin!! You had all you could ask for, cheaper than a hotel. I love the way it was decorated. In the morning you can have your coffee on the front porch and watch the sun hit the beautiful mountins, the best view to start the day. Lori was so friendly and helpful, she was even able to get me a pack and play for my baby. (very baby prof house :-) We hope to come back soon.

We had a very pleasant stay in Lori's VRBO rental. We had everything we needed to be comfortable while we visited Colorado Springs. The house is withing walking distance to many restaurants, shops, nightlife, etc. Great alternative to a hotel/motel and at a fraction of the cost. We definitely recommend this rental and would stay there again.

We had a great time staying at Lori's rental home in downtown Colorado Springs. The property is extremely close to the interstate as well as all of the downtown restaurants. The rental is also a great value for a small family and allowed us to spend more of our vacation budget on other special excursions such as the Cog railway. We would highly recommend this quaint Victorian home if you are looking for an affordable hub for exploring the Pikes Peak region.

This was our "home" during our June vacation. It was delightful to sit on the porch in the morning with our coffee and be able to see the snow on Pike's Peak. The neighborhood is quiet and one morning our two Jack Russells were quite excited to watch a coyote meander casually up the street! The dogs really enjoyed the secure fenced yard. We didn't have to worry about letting them out. The house is well stocked to get you started until you can get to the grocery store. The central location makes it easy to visit downtown attractions or jump on the interstate to visit areas further away. A very pet-friendly, comfortable and convenient VRBO.

We really enjoyed Lori's house. The place was very conveniently located to grocery and other attractions, on a nice quiet street. The house is very cozy and comfortable, for two adults and two kids. The kids really enjoyed having the satellite TV and DVD player. We would suggest upgrading the grill outside, the one there gave us a few problems. But overall we had a fantastic visit, and at such an excellent price! We would stay there again when we come back through!

We had a wonderful stay at this quaint and charming house in Colorado Springs. It was the perfect size for 2 couples to stay comfortably and MUCH more affordable than a hotel room. Lori was very thoughtful in the amenities that she provided at the house. Everything is there that you would need and then some! The view was beautiful and the location was INCREDIBLY convenient to the many activities that Colorado Springs has to offer! We would stay here again if in the area and recommend it to family and friends.

We stayed at Lori's house while attending a family wedding in town. As I later told Lori, those family members who saw where we were staying compared to the hotel rooms they had were very impressed. The house is not huge, but big enough for a very comfortable week away on holiday or on business. Thank you Lori for your hospitality and the use of your house!

This house was perfect for our vacation. It was close to downtown such that amenities were easily accessible, but was not subject to the typical noise of many downtown locations. As well, Lori provided more than the conveniences we expected in the house. The property was clean and well-maintained, and all the appliances were in good working order. We would definitely stay at this property again if we returned to the Colorado Springs area. Thanks for a great experience.

We have a cadet at the USAFA in Colorado Springs. We rented the little cottage when our son had a weekend off. It was very nice for him as he had his own bedroom, a kitchen to make snacks or popcorn, and a couch to sprawl out on. The fenced yard and the little porch was very charming. Our little chihauhau loved it. We will probably take advantage of the little victorian house again. Thank you.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Lori's cottage in Colorado Springs. The location is great as we were close to many attractions and were able to easily access I25. The home itself is clean and attractive, with all the conveniences of a "home away from home." It was much nicer staying here than in a hotel. We certainly took advantage of the great weather, nice yard, and BBQ grill. I would definitely recommend Lori's cottage to anyone who is considering a stay in Colorado Springs.

This house made our stay in Colorado Springs delightfully complete! Close to everything, we(and our 2 beagles) truly felt at home. We enjoyed cooking at home in the well equipped kitchen (complete with fresh tomatoes growing in the backyard) and enjoying coffee each morning on the porch with a beautiful view of Pikes Peak. Lori is a wonderful host, offering lots of suggestions for local eateries, attractions and is very accommodating. The location of this house can't be beat: close to hiking, cycling, dining, Garden of the Gods, shopping and quick access to the highway. We will definitely stay at Sahwatch again when we return to Colorado Springs.
