Anniversary Vacation Was Perfect!

Our group of 7 decided to go to Mexico only a few months before we actually did. That doesn't leave alot of room for error. We had several anniversaries to celebrate and some wounds to heal. Luckily we found Casa Caracol. Don't get me wrong, there were plenty of rentals and hotels available because it was September. BUT, finding Casa Caracol was a dream come true. It all started with a few emails to the owners. They were so easy to work with and so easy to communicate with. When we finally made it to sunny MX after the usual "no sleep" in the last 24 hours, we were absolutely thrilled to see our home for the week. Nancy had arranged for the house manager (who was great) to have a few groceries waiting for us. That is a nice way to start a vacation. The house is beautiful and HUGE! There is nothing you will need after you walk in the beautiful front door. Unpack your things, grab a beverage and sit by the pool and talk about how lucky you are to get such a great house for a week! Our maid was so sweet and efficient. We are from Wisconsin. I hope she wasn't too freaked out about the amount of beer cans that needed to be recycled every day..... Oh yes, the beach! The location of Casa Caracol is perfect like everything else about Casa Caracol. Grab a towel, chair, and an umbrella and walk down to the beach. Pretty tough. And now the best part.....half of our group left after one week and the rest of us were gonna "gypsy" it the 2nd week. No need! Casa Caracol was available and the owners were kind enough to let us stay at a price we could afford. Yes, we became pretty spoiled by the end of the second week. To sum up, we have stayed in several villas in Phase 1. When it comes to maid service, pool service, ease of communication with the owners, location to the beach, location to town and price compared to similar villas, Casa Caracol is your only choice. Our hats are off to Ed, Ronnie, Nancy and Bob. Thank you for all your kindness, it is very much appreciated and will not be forgotten. Al, Lou, Jill, Kevin, Mike, Dawn, Kim

Casa Caracol provided the "home away from home" we were looking for -- a multi-generational family (from age 71 to age 4) looking for a villa that provided for all our needs. The pool was perfect even for the 4 year old (she was delighted she could touch the bottom in the shallow end!) and the teenagers spent hours at the nearby beach perfecting their winter tans. Proximity to Playa del Carmen was appreciated as we made several trips to town -- to eat out, shop, have the granddaughters' hair braided, take the ferry to Cozumel -- yet we also had everything we needed (beach, pool, relaxing areas in the house) at hand without leaving. The maid service was efficient and thorough. Our big birthday bash dinner (5 of us have birthdays in December and January!) catered by Unoevents (Susan de Lima) was wonderful and we found the kitchen easy to use for breakfasts on our own -- most of the rest of the meals we utilized a cook suggested by the owners -- wonderful Mexican cooking! We'll be back!!

Grandparents, parents and grandchildren (11 in all, ages 71 to 4) all enjoyed our stay at Casa Caracol over Christmas, 2011. The ensuite bathrooms were wonderful - each family could be as neat or messy as they wished! The proximity to the beach was wonderful - we could come and go as we wished. Employing a cook to prepare most of our meals relieved the stress - yet we were close enough to town that we could have a meal out when we wished. Overall, a wonderful time was had by all! The owners were easy to work with and supplied all the information we asked for before and during our stay.

We found out about Casa Caracol from my sister in law who stayed there last February and she raved about it. Ed & Nancy were great to work with in the booking process and were very thorough in providing us with all the information we needed. It was also my husbands 60th birthday while we were there, so we had a catered dinner from Susan and preordered a beautiful birthday cake from the local bakery. We had a fantastic time and the place was great. I had walked around and looked at many other houses in the community while I was there and Casa Caracol had the best pool situation for having sun the entire day and the most privacy. The housekeeper did a fantastic job and even washed our clothes. Ed & Nancy provided helpful information at the house on good restaurants and attractions to see. We would highly recommend Tango Taco for good Argentinian flank steak and fantastic prices and a little tiny Crepe place owned by a French gentleman. We loved the location for walking to town and only a few steps to a fantastic beach. We felt so secure there that our 6 year old granddaughter would walk to the beach by herself. Would highly recommended Casa Caracol for your next family vacation.

My sister-in-law had stayed with you and recommended your place to my family. It was so great to have our own place and pool for the grandkids and a fabulous beach just steps away. There were 12 of us for 5 days of the trip, so the blow up bed was great for that, except the only place big enough to put it was in the kitchen. The only negative was the street had a bit of traffic and they were remodeling the house next door and would start pretty early in the morning and wake us up.

I wanted to thank you for renting your home to us. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Casa Caracol and what a wonderful time we had. The weather, the view, the surf, the staff and the overall experience was truly remarkable and one we will never forget. Everything was wonderful and topnotch. A special thank you to Julian and his lovely wife for going out of their way to make our stay so comfortable. Your staff could not have been more professional. They always seemed to be there when we needed them yet kept a low profile when we were relaxing at the house. They are gems. The house has everything! The kitchen is complete to cook any meal, beach chairs, BBQ, laundry room, wifi, cable, privacy-I could go on and on. We had an incredible stay at your beautiful home. You have the best lot in Playacar Fase Uno.. perfect views, breeze, and centrally located. Playa del Carmen is such a special place to us and was even more so by seeing it from the view of Casa Caracol! Thank you again. Best Regards, David, David, Brandon and Michelle

From the moment we arrived at the airport, we knew that we were truly on vacation. The driver made sure that we had nothing to worry about as he drove us to our destination and was so friendly that we knew this would be the best vacation ever. As soon as we got to the casa, we were welcomed by the caretaker, Julian, who immediately helped us get settled in. The view was beautiful and the house was so conveniently located to the beach and a short walk into town that we felt complete freedom to relax and soak up the Mexico sun. The owners of the house had the best recommendation, from restaurants to tourist destinations, that even when we veered from those recommendations, we realized that our pick wasn't half as good as theirs. We spent our days relaxing on the soft, white beaches and exploring cenotes and local flavors, even skidiving!!! And when we got "home", everything about the casa made us feel welcome, from the towel animals left on our bed to the fresh linen left in our bathroom. The best recommendation was Susan, the caterer that came in and cooked us a five-star birthday dinner, complete with fresh fish and appetizers on the balcony overlooking the Carribean Sea. Thank you to Bob and Nancy for providing us with the best vacation home ever. We will be back!!!

The rental property only added to the perfect ambiance of paradise. The rooms were cabana like and always made up with love. The housekeeping service was INCREDIBLE! Staying here gave me a taste of living like royalty! Evenings by the pool (allowing the sting of the sunburn to cool!) were beautiful. Our special dinner by the personal chef was incredible and individualized to the max. I love the little things that the property owners thought of...beach towels, the safe, internet access. Even being able to have the TV on while preparing for bed each night was something that I found comforting (a nightly ritual at home)...but others would have found unnecessary. Thank you for a wonderful vacation, a carefree living experience and a pristine home to enjoy it all in!

My extended family and I stayed there for a week and had a great time. Our ages ranged from 9 years old to 46 years old (8 of us in total). The house is wonderful and met all our needs. The bedrooms a large and each has it's own bathroom. All the beds were VERY comfortable. The location was great - steps away from the beach and a short walk to 5th avenue/ferry to Cozomel. Playa del Carmen is an excellent location to explore the Mayan Riviera. We ate at many restaraunts on 5th ave and ALL the food was excellent. For the first time, no one in my family got sick on their trip to Mexico. When we ate in, we did our grocery shopping at Wal-Mart - only 5 minutes from the house.

Four couples spent a week at Casa Caracol and it was a perfect vacation. The house is even lovelier than the pictures. The beach is spectacular. The maid and house manager are very helpful, and there is no need for car rental. You can walk into town.
