We just got back from one of the best vacations of our lives! Casa Caracol was the perfect place to base our adventures in the Yucatan. There was so much to do but we didn't want to leave the house! So relaxing, just steps from the beach, I walked down with my coffee every morning. Slept like a baby with the ocean breeze flowing through the room. Feasted on salsa, guacamole, and ceviche made with fresh local ingredients prepared in the gourmet kitchen. Our 12 year old spent every possible minute in the pool. We could have spent the whole week at the house, but we did venture out. Shopping was just a short walk to the center of town. Chichen Itza one day - awe inspiring. Snorkeling in Akumal followed by lunch on the beach. The ferry to Cozumel one evening for dinner - delicious. Everything was so accessible. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, well-maintained, and well apportioned. Daily maid service with fresh flowers was an added bonus. I would definitely recommend Casa Caracol to friends - in fact I already have.

Perfecto Mundo! We were lucky enough recently to be asked by our friends (owners Bob and Nancy) to spend some vacation time with them, and some other friends from the States, at their delightful vacation home in Playa del Carmen, Casa Caracol. I have to say ... it was perfect ... over-the-top as my wife says! I have stayed in Cancun on another trip, but I found this location much more central to the points of interest in the area ... it was, well, perfect! Side trips to Chichen Itza (via Tulum), to Cozumel (within site, a fun 45 minute cruise), to Akumal (via local transport to snorkel) were all easy, fun and ... awe inspiring. Perfect! An easy stroll to the heart of the shopping and entertainment district and the Marina ... pearly-white beaches, warm Caribbean waters ... good times at Senor Frogs ... fresh fruit every where you look ... excellent restaurants. Perfect! The home itself is immaculate and comfortable ... big enough for the entire family, meticulously maintained by a helpful and friendly staff ... our kid stayed in the pool most of the time and hardly touched his iPod during the day! Perfect! One thing ... in their advertising Bob and Nancy say the beach is 50 steps away. Well ... our 12 year-old actually stepped it off and he said ... “72 regular steps and 60 long steps ... and maybe 50 Michael Jordan steps!” Three thumbs up from our Albuquerque, New Mexico family ... I really cannot envision a more perfect vacation. Viva la Casa Caracol!

Casa Caracol provided the "home away from home" we were looking for -- a multi-generational family (from age 71 to age 4) looking for a villa that provided for all our needs. The pool was perfect even for the 4 year old (she was delighted she could touch the bottom in the shallow end!) and the teenagers spent hours at the nearby beach perfecting their winter tans. Proximity to Playa del Carmen was appreciated as we made several trips to town -- to eat out, shop, have the granddaughters' hair braided, take the ferry to Cozumel -- yet we also had everything we needed (beach, pool, relaxing areas in the house) at hand without leaving. The maid service was efficient and thorough. Our big birthday bash dinner (5 of us have birthdays in December and January!) catered by Unoevents (Susan de Lima) was wonderful and we found the kitchen easy to use for breakfasts on our own -- most of the rest of the meals we utilized a cook suggested by the owners -- wonderful Mexican cooking! We'll be back!!

Grandparents, parents and grandchildren (11 in all, ages 71 to 4) all enjoyed our stay at Casa Caracol over Christmas, 2011. The ensuite bathrooms were wonderful - each family could be as neat or messy as they wished! The proximity to the beach was wonderful - we could come and go as we wished. Employing a cook to prepare most of our meals relieved the stress - yet we were close enough to town that we could have a meal out when we wished. Overall, a wonderful time was had by all! The owners were easy to work with and supplied all the information we asked for before and during our stay.

We found out about Casa Caracol from my sister in law who stayed there last February and she raved about it. Ed & Nancy were great to work with in the booking process and were very thorough in providing us with all the information we needed. It was also my husbands 60th birthday while we were there, so we had a catered dinner from Susan and preordered a beautiful birthday cake from the local bakery. We had a fantastic time and the place was great. I had walked around and looked at many other houses in the community while I was there and Casa Caracol had the best pool situation for having sun the entire day and the most privacy. The housekeeper did a fantastic job and even washed our clothes. Ed & Nancy provided helpful information at the house on good restaurants and attractions to see. We would highly recommend Tango Taco for good Argentinian flank steak and fantastic prices and a little tiny Crepe place owned by a French gentleman. We loved the location for walking to town and only a few steps to a fantastic beach. We felt so secure there that our 6 year old granddaughter would walk to the beach by herself. Would highly recommended Casa Caracol for your next family vacation.

My sister-in-law had stayed with you and recommended your place to my family. It was so great to have our own place and pool for the grandkids and a fabulous beach just steps away. There were 12 of us for 5 days of the trip, so the blow up bed was great for that, except the only place big enough to put it was in the kitchen. The only negative was the street had a bit of traffic and they were remodeling the house next door and would start pretty early in the morning and wake us up.

I wanted to thank you for renting your home to us. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Casa Caracol and what a wonderful time we had. The weather, the view, the surf, the staff and the overall experience was truly remarkable and one we will never forget. Everything was wonderful and topnotch. A special thank you to Julian and his lovely wife for going out of their way to make our stay so comfortable. Your staff could not have been more professional. They always seemed to be there when we needed them yet kept a low profile when we were relaxing at the house. They are gems. The house has everything! The kitchen is complete to cook any meal, beach chairs, BBQ, laundry room, wifi, cable, privacy-I could go on and on. We had an incredible stay at your beautiful home. You have the best lot in Playacar Fase Uno.. perfect views, breeze, and centrally located. Playa del Carmen is such a special place to us and was even more so by seeing it from the view of Casa Caracol! Thank you again. Best Regards, David, David, Brandon and Michelle

Our group of 7 decided to go to Mexico only a few months before we actually did. That doesn't leave alot of room for error. We had several anniversaries to celebrate and some wounds to heal. Luckily we found Casa Caracol. Don't get me wrong, there were plenty of rentals and hotels available because it was September. BUT, finding Casa Caracol was a dream come true. It all started with a few emails to the owners. They were so easy to work with and so easy to communicate with. When we finally made it to sunny MX after the usual "no sleep" in the last 24 hours, we were absolutely thrilled to see our home for the week. Nancy had arranged for the house manager (who was great) to have a few groceries waiting for us. That is a nice way to start a vacation. The house is beautiful and HUGE! There is nothing you will need after you walk in the beautiful front door. Unpack your things, grab a beverage and sit by the pool and talk about how lucky you are to get such a great house for a week! Our maid was so sweet and efficient. We are from Wisconsin. I hope she wasn't too freaked out about the amount of beer cans that needed to be recycled every day..... Oh yes, the beach! The location of Casa Caracol is perfect like everything else about Casa Caracol. Grab a towel, chair, and an umbrella and walk down to the beach. Pretty tough. And now the best part.....half of our group left after one week and the rest of us were gonna "gypsy" it the 2nd week. No need! Casa Caracol was available and the owners were kind enough to let us stay at a price we could afford. Yes, we became pretty spoiled by the end of the second week. To sum up, we have stayed in several villas in Phase 1. When it comes to maid service, pool service, ease of communication with the owners, location to the beach, location to town and price compared to similar villas, Casa Caracol is your only choice. Our hats are off to Ed, Ronnie, Nancy and Bob. Thank you for all your kindness, it is very much appreciated and will not be forgotten. Al, Lou, Jill, Kevin, Mike, Dawn, Kim

From the moment we arrived at the airport, we knew that we were truly on vacation. The driver made sure that we had nothing to worry about as he drove us to our destination and was so friendly that we knew this would be the best vacation ever. As soon as we got to the casa, we were welcomed by the caretaker, Julian, who immediately helped us get settled in. The view was beautiful and the house was so conveniently located to the beach and a short walk into town that we felt complete freedom to relax and soak up the Mexico sun. The owners of the house had the best recommendation, from restaurants to tourist destinations, that even when we veered from those recommendations, we realized that our pick wasn't half as good as theirs. We spent our days relaxing on the soft, white beaches and exploring cenotes and local flavors, even skidiving!!! And when we got "home", everything about the casa made us feel welcome, from the towel animals left on our bed to the fresh linen left in our bathroom. The best recommendation was Susan, the caterer that came in and cooked us a five-star birthday dinner, complete with fresh fish and appetizers on the balcony overlooking the Carribean Sea. Thank you to Bob and Nancy for providing us with the best vacation home ever. We will be back!!!

The rental property only added to the perfect ambiance of paradise. The rooms were cabana like and always made up with love. The housekeeping service was INCREDIBLE! Staying here gave me a taste of living like royalty! Evenings by the pool (allowing the sting of the sunburn to cool!) were beautiful. Our special dinner by the personal chef was incredible and individualized to the max. I love the little things that the property owners thought of...beach towels, the safe, internet access. Even being able to have the TV on while preparing for bed each night was something that I found comforting (a nightly ritual at home)...but others would have found unnecessary. Thank you for a wonderful vacation, a carefree living experience and a pristine home to enjoy it all in!

My extended family and I stayed there for a week and had a great time. Our ages ranged from 9 years old to 46 years old (8 of us in total). The house is wonderful and met all our needs. The bedrooms a large and each has it's own bathroom. All the beds were VERY comfortable. The location was great - steps away from the beach and a short walk to 5th avenue/ferry to Cozomel. Playa del Carmen is an excellent location to explore the Mayan Riviera. We ate at many restaraunts on 5th ave and ALL the food was excellent. For the first time, no one in my family got sick on their trip to Mexico. When we ate in, we did our grocery shopping at Wal-Mart - only 5 minutes from the house.

Four couples spent a week at Casa Caracol and it was a perfect vacation. The house is even lovelier than the pictures. The beach is spectacular. The maid and house manager are very helpful, and there is no need for car rental. You can walk into town.

Casa Caracol was everything we had hoped for and then some after a much needed break from the daily grind of NYC! Ed and Nancy were wonderful in helping us to plan a family vacation for us and the spacious and comfortable house provided us an opportunity to invite some close family friends to join us for the week. The location can't be beat...walking distance to the great town of Playa del Carmen and yet next to a beach that wasn't crowded! The local sky divers landed on our beach and the wind surfers made for great entertainment...all within a stone's throw to the house, where we'd walk back and forth all day long! We are seriously considering making this vacation a "same time next year" trip...the kind we could go back to and enjoy over and over again. Definitely take Ed and Nancy's advice on restaurants and let Julian help with any needs around the house. We hired a cook to make breakfast every day and waking up to fresh squeezed oj and full Mexican breakfast was better than any hotel! Not all the houses in Playacar Phase I could possibly claim to be this nice. Location matters and this one was perfect! Make sure you stock up on groceries early on your trip...no reason to leave the house once you've got food and drinks!!!

2-21-10 We just returned from our vacation to Playa Del Carmen. We rented Casa Caracol for the week. Everything about this home is exquisite. The house was spotless, plenty of room for everyone. Having the kitchen was really nice. We used the grill a few times for lunches, dinners. The rest of the time we enjoyed the different restaurants on 5th Avenue. The proximity to 5th Avenue was great. Every day we would venture down and shop, dine, or just mix with the locals. We also had great massages downtown for fantastic prices. We used the transportation that was recommended by the owners. This worked out great for us. Our driver, Moyses was fantastic. He took us to anywhere we wanted, and also set up excursions for anyone who wanted them. The rides to and from town by taxi are only $5 if you want to go to Wal-Mart for your own groceries. Casa Caracol is everything you could need or want for a vacation house. The beach is only a few steps away from the house. The beach itself is perfect. Lots of white sand, plenty of space. The views from the master bedroom are fantastic. We kept our window and slider open at night for the most wonderful ocean breezes. Anyone wanting to rent this house will not be disappointed. There were 8 adults in our party, plenty of room for all. Also, the guys enjoyed a few rounds of golf at Playacar. They loved it. We all had a wonderful vacation here. The owners are very helpful with their suggestions. We all hope to return again.

We've been traveling to Playa for some years now and last year rented a casa for more room to spread out. We did not return to that rental for many reasons~ Undeterred, I spent hours combing listings looking for a suitable house for this years visit....Casa Caracol turned out to be a great fit. Plenty of rooms, huge kitchen, and good sized pool kept us wondering when we could come back. There is a small beach 1/2 block over but was a little rocky for our 7 year old....never fear...2 more blocks and you are at a small, very private (we never see any more than 6 or so people aside from locals fishing from the rocks) beach. Town is also very convenient; an easy stroll from the Casa. After putting the kids to bed - wander to the deck on the 2nd floor with a bottle of vino and enjoy the sights and sounds. Take advantage of having Julian stock the kitchen with groceries before your arrival...it's well worth it and keeps you in the pool/beach instead of Wal-mart. All in all, a great trip and perfect house...nothing negative to say at all. We'll be back!

Feb 13 - 22, 2009 My mother rented Casa Caracol to take her family (10 of us) on a holiday to celebrate her retirement. The house was WONDERFUL. We all loved it. It is well stocked, the beds are very comfortable, rooms were quite and very every thing was clean. A very short walk to a beautiful beach and less then 10 minutes to 5th Ave. We had the most amazing holiday. Would go back tomorrow.

We arrived at the Cancun Airport Feb23/09 for one week and our ride was there waiting for us just as we arranged and suggested by the owners. The Villa was absolutely beautiful. Just like the pictures provided in this site. The pool and the grounds were kept very neat and clean. The fridge was stocked by the property manager just as we requested. The housekeeper was effecient and left the villa sparkling. A private pool and beautiful beach for us made our trip perfect. A short walk to town where you have all the clubs, restaraunts and shopping you could want. Be sure to check over Nancy and Ed's suggestions for restaurants and things to do....we did and very glad of it. Had a wonderful time...Thanks for sharing your beautiful property!! Would love to visit again!

We had a fabulous time at your place. It was the absolute perfect set up for us. The kids loved walking back and forth to the beach and the proximity to the beach was perfect. The home was beautiful and we loved Julien and Adriana. As an fyi – our son, who is 2 go the krup while we were there and we took him to the hospital that Julien recommended. They were very good and we had a better experience at that hospital than at our local hospital! Thank you once again. We will surely recommend your home to anyone we know heading to Playa. Becky

Our family could not have had a better holiday present to each other than to stay at Casa Caracol. It absolutely fulfilled all 7 of our requirements for a perfect vacation. It was a little slice of paradise for each of us.The house is phenomenal in not only being beautiful but also providing for all our needs. We could all enjoy each others company and still feel like we had our own space to retreat to when needed. We must admit that we did not spend as much time in the house as we would have liked because there was so much to take in while we were visiting Playa Del Carmen. There were activities for every age group, between swimming in the pool, beaching, snorkeling, ferrying to Cozumel, scooter riding, shopping and dining on 5th Ave, heading to Excaret, visiting a bird sanctuary, and walking amongst the Mayan Ruins, we were quite busy every day. We all loved spending a part of each day either swimming in the crystal clear pool or walking the few steps to the beautiful beach. The owners of this home made our trip even that much more enjoyable by providing us with every piece of information that we needed from activities to restaurants. Each dining experience was both enjoyable and delicious. The owner's attention to detail was impeccable as was the service provided by the property managers. The house was cleaned and maintained each day. Julian and his wife provided us with everything we needed and more. We certainly appreciated all their kindness. We would definitely recommend this home and have in fact already done so to many of our friends and co-workers. We can't thank the owners enough and are trying to keep those palm trees, warm breezes, beautiful sky and aquamarine waters in our thoughts until we return again.

Our family spent a week in Playa in early November. Casa Caracol made the trip a total success! With the private pool, and the close proximity to the beach (15 second walk - literally), we couldn't have asked for anything better. We came with two small kids and they absolutely loved the vacation. The house is VERY kid-friendly and also adult-friendly. Plenty of room to spread out and have privacy on one of the roof-top decks or in one of the 4 bedrooms. The house was very close to downtown Playa - a 10-minute walk - which made for easy access to restaurants and shopping. Additionally, the home owners were very accommodating and provided plenty of resources for us to make our stay comfortable. I'd highly recommend this house to anyone interested in renting in Playa! We're already booked to go back in March!

Playa Del Carmen is a magical place and our stay at Casa Caracol went beyond our expectations. It was in a lovely setting surrounded by palm trees and 1/2 a block from the beach which afforded us more privacy than those properties located on the beach. The interior finishes were first class including the spacious kitchen and nice appliances. The personal touch of having our groceries purchased and delivered to the house before we arrived by the very professional house manager, Julian was exceptional. We were truly spoiled at Casa Caracol and will be making it a regular part of our vacation schedule from now on.

The bedroom/bathroom set up is ideal, the kitchen was so nice and spacious, and the pool was never without someone in it. Adriana (never did see spelling) is a treasure! She truly worked so hard every day. I almost wanted to stop her at times. You can be sure that she is taking great care with your home! You never led us astray with restaurants…we loved Tango Taco and Ajua!! And, we did take out from CH Meats TWICE!! The only bummer was the extreme wind which made doing water sports impossible until our last day but we got it all in that day! Thank you, again, for everything! You were great to work with and we wouldn’t hesitate to go again!! Your friends in Kansas

My family just returned from a week's stay at Casa Caracol, and I must say that the home was considerably nicer than even the owners' description. The stonework is magnificent, every room is spacious and prestine, and the decor is perfect. It is so well-kept it's as though you're staying in a 5-star hotel. The beach is very close, and the pool is refreshing yet warm enough for the whole family to enjoy. We'd definately stay in this lovely home again!

We had the pleasure of staying at Casa Caracol and it was truly an awesome experience. The house is beautifully layed out for a large family or group, decorated and on one of the most gorgeous and quiet streets I've ever seen. There are Mayan Ruins directly across the street from the house! A few steps from the beach and short walk to town made it the best location we could have stayed at. We will definitely be returning.

The trip to the Mayan Riviera was probably the trip of our lives. My wife and I and kids ranging in age from 16 - 27 thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Playa del Carmen and all that we were able to do in eight days. The villa was very comfortable for the eight of us and our two guests. There was plenty of room, the pool was great and the location allowed us to stay out enjoying the clubs until 4AM. We either walked to and from town our on a couple late nights paid $5 for a quick taxi ride back to the villa. We took trips to Cozumel, Tulum, Akumel (swam with turtles), Chicten Itza, and Xelha. One of the highlights was renting scooters for the day on Cozumel and riding around from beach to beach, snorkeling and enjoying the great weather. The private beach just down from the villa is breathtaking,we have never seen waters with so many shades of blue. We thought we were in paradise. The kids were able to swim with the dolphins, sky dive and land directly on our beach, and party at the clubs. It was truly an amazing trip and I would recommend it to any family, group or couple. Hopefully you will get the great weather we experienced and not have to deal with a hurricane.

We just returned from a wonderful week spent at Casa Caracol. Our entire family of 10, including two grandchildren, had an absolutely wonderful time. The house was beautiful and very comfortable with everything we could possibly need. We arranged our transportation from/to the airport through David Gomez (recommended by Curt) and we couldn't have been more pleased with all of their drivers. They were all friendly, professional, reliable and very accommodating....they took us on day trips to Tulum to the Mayan ruins, a wonderful snorkeling trip, and to Swim with the Dolphins...arranging lunch stops, and anything else we needed to do while we were out. We thoroughly enjoyed the house pool (and left some water toys for future visitors), the beach was beautiful with white sand and just a few steps from the house. We felt very safe in the gated community and when we were out with our drivers. We all recommend Casa Caracol and Playa del Carmen to anyone who wants a relaxing, fun and safe family vacation.

I can sum up Casa Caracol in one word “WOW”. This was my first trip to Playa and staying in Casa Caracol made ALL the difference in the world. This house had more than enough room for my friends and I to enjoy ourselves. The entire house is absolutely gorgeous but the pool quickly became the main hangout as it was located right outside the kitchen’s wide double doors. This house had all the amenities 4 guys could ask for, private bathrooms, large beds, beautiful views etc. We had the house stocked with food and drinks (well worth the added cost) and Julian was great! Anything we asked for he provided, including a van and driver for our day trip to Chichen Itza (ask for Jorge). The walk to 5th street was only minutes away as well as Senor Frogs and the fairy to Cozumel. This house was definitely worth the trip in itself and I cannot wait to take my family back to Casa Caracol as they will just fall in love with it as well. Thanks to Mr. Henderson for providing such a nice house to stay in Playa and thanks to Julian for providing such great service during our stay.

After returning from our week stay at Casa Caracoal we are already planning which week we will return next year! We had our extended family with grandparents and grandchildren and the house could not have worked better for a large group of people. Every bedroom was comfortable with a private bath and tv for privacy. The beach was so close that you could walk back and forth throughout the day. And the walk to town was so easy, we walked for dinner every night. The house was clean and tidy. And we used Julian to go to the grocery and arrange taxi service and this worked perfectly. What a great place to stay. We are already planning to go back soon. We would give it a 10. Jamie Malato

It's probably difficult to find 8 people who are compatible enough to spend a week together. But, we have managed to do this for several vacations now. Casa Caracol made it extremely easy. This home is spacious and beautiful. The decor is amazing. You have a choice of being tranquil at home or at the nearby beach, or taking a short walk and becoming part of the scene on 5th Ave. Some of us took daytrips, and some of us chose to catch up on our reading. The beauty of it was that we were all without pressure and responsibility from the "real world" for a week. The house staff met all of our needs. The local people were very friendly and we always felt safe. The restaurants that we chose were excellent. We are all still in withdrawal from leaving this beautiful home. Look no further for heaven on earth, you've found it.

Casa Caracol is a fabulous home in a nice gated community. After opening the master drapes for a sunrise view of the ocean, we enjoyed breakfast by the pool just outside the dining room. We spent our days on the nearby secluded beaches, shopping and lunching in Playa, and day trips to Excaret, Tulum, and Akumal. We enjoyed ending the day with cocktails on the upper deck watching the sun set and the birds in the open space across from the house. One of my favorite features of the house is the beautiful marble floors. The bath areas also are very spacious and clean, And the kitchen is huge! The daily maid service was a bonus, and the house manager was always willing to help us out. All in all, a beautiful home with great amenities, in a beautiful spot on the Mayan Riveria!

A group of friends of mine and I have just returned from a wonderful week in Playa del Carmen made PERFECT by our stay at Casa Caracol. We have been coming to Playa for years, staying in all inclusive resorts up until this year when we decided to "try a house"...well NEVER again will we stay in a resort after our wonderful experience with Curt and his great "at home" staff at the Casa. The place is kept "sparkling clean" both inside and out. The kitchen has EVERYTHING one would need..the bedrooms and beds are comfortable, each with it's own private bath and lots of running HOT water. In fact the entire house is a treat and a pleasure to expeience. CLose to a beautiful beach and to town. We will be back. Thank you Curt

My wife and I spent 4 wonderful days at Casa Caracol this past October '06. This house is the perfect vacation destination. The location, furnishings, and amenities found at Casa Caracol are second to none. From the time we arrived we felt comfortable and safe in this beautiful and private home so close to town and literally steps from the beach. Because the home is in a gated neighborhood there is little vehicle or pedestrian traffic and the nearby beach is very private. We were sharing the house with 3 other friend couples. Picking bedrooms was easy since they are all absolutely great and each has its own private bathroom. Our group had a blast and never felt crowded in Casa Caracol. The pool just outside the living space is incredible day or night! You will not be disappointed in choosing Casa Caracol! There will be cold Coronas in the fridge!

From the minute you walk into Casa Caracol, there was no doubt we were going to have a fantastic & luxurious vacation. The house is beautiful from top to bottom. Great bedrooms ( and mattresses) gourmet kitchen, lovely dining room etc. The pool area was where we spent much of our time alternating with a mere few steps to a private beach. The best of both worlds! The house is very close to town, although you would never know it by how serene the house is. It's just the ideal location. And above all, I found Curt fantastic to deal with. He made it very easy to book the house, show up, have fun and relax.

The house is awesome and the location is perfect! We really enjoyed the large bedrooms all with their own private baths. We loved having the fully furnished Kitchen including all new appliances. The furniture and decor are perfect for the house and we felt right at home. We spent plenty of time in the swimming pool and the private beach was just a few steps away too! The housekeeper and caretaker were very friendly and took good care of us. We are DEFINITELY coming back for another visit soon! Overall, this is simply a GREAT place to stay!
