My husband and I enjoyed staying in this apartment that overlooks the colloseum. It is a bit small but perfect for two people. The terrace is the best part, especially at night when the colloseum is lit up. The neighborhood is non-touristy and felt like a more authentic experience than the city center. The beer bar across the street is awesome and the restaurant just up the street is good and cheap - unlike so many others. I would stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The apartment was perfect and in a great location. We were able to walk very easily to the ancient roman sites. Alessandro was extremely helpful. He met us to show us all the features of the apartment and gave us lots of tips for the area. The view from the balcony is incredible both day and night! We had a wonderful time in Rome and would highly recommend this apartment and Alessandro's hospitality.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

A bright, sunny, small apartment that had a great location. It also had air conditioning and was a haven for us from the hot Rome summer. The apartment is a bit "tired" but great value.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We LOVED this place. All the reviews written are correct, and all photos truly show the apartment. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Perfect location, great communication ahead of time, and there was a nice supply of travel books. It was so nice to be able to sit on the deck in the fresh air, or close everything up and relax in the a/c. There are restaurants and a nice market only a couple of blocks away. The internet worked great, and there was a tv to keep up on then news. Best way to get there from FCO is to buy a ticket from terravision - ticket office is in Terminal 3. The bus ticke is only 5 euros to get to the main train station, and then less than 10 euros by taxi to the apartment. The Roma pass is ideal. This includes 2 free visits to your 1st choice sights, it gets you to the front of the line, gives you discounts on other sites and includes metro and bus for 3 days. I highly recommend this apartment. It would be my first choice if I return to Rome again. Thank you so much. My husband and I stayed in this apartment for four nights this past week in July. Irina met us at the agreed-upon time, showed us around and left us the keys. It was nice to stay in a place that wasn't a hotel for a change- where you have the freedom to come and go and no one is cleaning up after you immediately. This gem was a nice relief after travelling all over Italy all week- cozy, but comfortable. Perfect for one or two people. The bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning was heaven sent after staying so many places without! The view of the Colosseum out the kitchen window and the balcony is magical! The apartment was clean and useful. Cable TV was available, although we hardly used it, as the only channels en English were the news, as to be expected. Bus and metro lines are conveniently close, although we walked to several sites. Irina was even nice enough to call and arrange a car for us for transport to the airport. It was a nice, comfortable stay, and I would recommend it to others. A nearby restaurant is recommended to avoid the touristy spots- Naumachia was a very good experience and only a block away!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We spent nearly a week here during our stay in Italy. Irina met us and got us oriented with maps, directions to the nearest market. She also arranged for taxi transport to the airport on our departure. As others have noted, the location cannot be beat. I was surprised at how quiet it was considering the location. Everything worked (I really appreciated the air conditioning). Many restaurants nearby. We walked most places and took the metro (Colosseo stop) elsewhere. A number of buses go through this area as well. The little electric bus 117 was fun to ride and because it took the smaller streets, was good for sightseeing as well.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We were referred to Alessandro's apartment rental by friends who had stayed there, a huge help after trying to wade online through dozens of apartments available in Rome. We were not disappointed. The process with Alessandro was easy and reassuring, he set up a car to pick us up from the airport and we were met there and given detailed instructions on the place. The apartment was perfect- compact and comfortable. We made great use of the terrace, perfect for sunset dinner and wine after a long day of exploring. The kitchen was handy for making light meals, for making first coffee of the day and is generally well equipped. There are a number of shops and a small fresh street market with wonderful produce within a two block radius for picking up supplies, and a fantastic gelataria one block away. A wash and fold service is located nearby, very expensive, but clean and pressed clothes can enhance a vacation experience. We found the apartment to be very handy to seeing sights- it was nice to be in the center of things, a few minute walk to the Coliseum and the Forum and the Coliseum Metro station. Termini station is a half hour walk, or a very easy metro ride, handy for day trips to Pompeii, Ostia Antica or Orvieto. We look forward to returning, and would rent this apartment again. It was our home away from home for 9 days, and we have the fondest of memories!Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Wow! Just got back from Rome and wanted to drop a note to recommend Alessandro's place. It was so convenient. We actually chose this place because of the picture (the one from the deck facing the Colosseum), but I think the actual value of this place is the proximity to the sites we wanted to see. We ended up walking almost everywhere, except the Vatican. I think by walking we covered almost everything we wanted to see in 4 days and some unexpected things we may not have found if we had taken buses (even though the buses provided quite the experience as well). We didn't rent a car and don't have any regrets--the place is ideally situated for people with even reasonable mobility--buses close by and great places to eat right in the nice little neighborhood. Great place that we would recommend to anyone who needs a place to crash and relax at the end of a long day. It would probably be too small for any more than a couple or anyone who wants to spend a bunch of time in their room. I would definitely recommend this to any of our friends! Thanks Alessandro!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Loved this apartment! It was the perfect choice for my husband and me to spend a week in Rome. Great food at the little pizza places in the neighborhood. We loved the wine and pasta shop right across the street, the local fruit vender, and small grocery store in the next block. Since Romans eat dinner at 9PM, we made most of our meals in the small, but very well equipped kitchen. What a view as you prepare dinner with glass windows all around, overlooking the rooftops of the neighborhood and the Coliseum beyond. We are walkers and went many places on foot, but also found the buses to be quite useful. We did buy a Roma Pass which we used to enter three museums and enabled us to have unlimited bus travel for those three days. The bed was large and comfortable. The hosts left a nice assortment of food for us to enjoy, bacon, eggs, fruit, and bread for toast with jam and butter. They also arranged a driver from the airport for 38 Euro. When we got through luggage claim he was there with a sign. Made the transfer to the apartment very easy. It also helped that the weather was warm and sunny all six days so we could use the balcony for dining. We did not expect that for the first week in November. It might be a bit cramped if the weather was bad and one couldn't do that. You would then have to eat at the desk, which was usually covered with our guide books and laptop. I would highly recommend this apartment. It is small but very efficient.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed at this apartment from June 27 to July 1 2011. The description and pictures on this website are very accurate. It is a 5 minute walk to the metro and coliseum and the buses are just up the block. The studio has a tiny but functional kitchen with all the tools to make a simple meal. The patio overlooks the coliseum and it was beautiful to have breakfast here each day. The apartment was very clean, neat and orderly with room to store your clothes and a desk to set up a laptop and WIFI is included. There were available tour books of Rome, a DVD player and cable TV. It was extremely hot when we were in Rome and the air-conditioning was a dream - worked perfectly. There is also a small elevator in the building. Irina met us when we checked in and her scheduling was flexible. She showed us the ins and outs of the apartment and showed us a book that many of the guests who stayed here have filled out. This book has many reviews of restaurants and things to do in the surrounding area of the apartment as well as other things in Rome. It helped us to find some good places to eat! I would highly recommend this apartment to either a single person or a couple. When I do return to Rome, this will be where I stay. The owner communicated well with us when we were making our plans. I couldn't ask for a better apartment in such a busy city - we loved it.Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

There is no beating the view of the Colosseum - especially at night! The apartment is a short 5-10 minute walk from the Colosseum and the metro and it is very close to restaurants, banks and groceries. The apartment is small, but it's clean and very functional. The attention to detail is nice - the apartment includes games, books, DVDs, free internet, thousands of TV channels, and a drawer full of Italy guidebooks. The only negative thing was the heater - it makes running water noises and can be kind of loud when trying to sleep. Of course, that can be avoided, though. Overall, we had an excellent experience. Thanks!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Sorry for the inconvenience with the heater, just needed to add water to the system. Had Mandi called me or Irina,we would have fixed it in two minutes.

Wonderful location with easy walking to sites and transportation. This was a perfect home away from home for an eight-day adventure in Rome. The apartment is cozy, neat. and clean; and we were provided with everything we needed plus -- food staples, holiday treats, guide books galore. There is internet service, phone, TV, books, CD player, and even a cell phone available if needed. We ate in for breakfast and two evening meals. The neighborhood is delightful and the apartment is safe and secure. There are good restaurants and a grocery close by. The view from the balcony is spectacular. We had the pleasure of watching amazing New Year's Eve fireworks over the Colosseum. We would love to return some day and do not hesitate to recommend this apartment to others. Thank you Alessandro and Irina.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This place was perfect for our 5 nights in Rome. The apartment was charming, well thought out, and Irina and Allesandro were both very helpful to two Americans in Italy for the first time! We found a lovely place to eat down the street where we ate every evening - minutes from the door, that was affordable, charming, and delicious. Of our 2 weeks in Italy, our time in Rome was our most memorable. We walked to everything from this apartment. Grazie mille!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This place is great! And the view is even better, it is far enough away from the colosseum that is isn't loud but close enough that you can be in the thick of things in no time. The apartment is certainly cozy but has every thing that you need to have a comfortable stay in Rome. My husband and I loved walking around the area and finding shops, restaurants, and stores. There is a bar right down the street (tree folk) to enjoy a beer or glass of wine after a long day of sight seeing and a restaurant down the street that had a line of people every night (it moves quick) so they could enjoy a big plate of pasta or a pizza for 5 euro. There are books and maps in the apartment and even a cell phone if you need it (use with a calling card). This place was perfect for what we needed... Thank you Alessandro and IrinaRecommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This small tidy flat is ideal for one person or a couple. It is wonderfully situated in a neighborhood adjacent to the Coliseum and easy walking distance to many of the major sites. Metro is just a few minutes away, and the main train station is an easy 15-minute walk through a park studded with ruins. Stroll past the Coliseum and in 15 minutes you are at the Pantheon, which is just a few minutes away from the Trevi fountain. Piazza Navona is in the neighborhood, as well, studded with old world ambience and sidewalk cafes along the little streets that connect with the fountain-studded center. The neighborhood where the flat is located has a comfortable, lively flavor, with small restaurants and a super market. Enjoy the view from the this top-floor flat; the pictures say it all. Don't expect luxury, but not even the Hilton provides a room with such charm and amenities. Relax with a soothing CD library of classical music or pop in a video after coming home from a day of sight-seeing. Alessandro was the perfect, congenial host, making sure that I knew how everything worked and pointing out from the small terrace where everything in the neighborhood and beyond was located. Drink in the atmosphere, feel the history that's all around you, and above all, enjoy Rome as the Romans do.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Great Location! Walkable to almost all major sites and just a 5 minute walk to Metro station. Beautiful view. Right by everything, but quiet enough to sleep at night. We really enjoyed our stay here. Small but cozy with everything you need. We really appreciated that the fridge was stocked with coffee and breakfast fixings. We would stay here again...Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We stayed in this apartment in May 2009 and ADORED it! Our first stop on our long 6 week tour of Europe and we couldn't have asked for a better introduction! The apartment was clean, tidy and well-equipped - so we could make our own meals. The outdoor terrace was just wonderful, waking up each day to gorgeous sunrises and the Colosseum and St Peters in the background. The apartment was secure, and a short walk to the Metro, bus stops, restaurants and grocery stores. We would recommend this place to anyone wanting a central place in Rome....Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/4

I spent a month in this jewel of an apartment. The apartment itself and the neighborhood are far better than the website lets on! That magnificent view of the Colosuem, Forum, and St. Peter's Cuppola can also be seen from both the kitchen and the shower! In addition to the well-known tourist sites, there are many other underground Roman and paleo-Christian sites within an easy walking distance. The owner and neighbors are quite friendly and helpful. The apartment has everything one could possibly need and the decor is fabulous. Thank you so much for this perfect stay! It was a wonderful retreat! Hi Alessandro, we loved your apartment, and we wanted to thank you for the bottle of wine you left for us.We enjoyed it immensely watching the Colosseo light up at night. We found the neighbourhood to be a delight-close to Metro and bus,and good little restaurants and mercatos and prices lower than what we saw elsewhere.Again thank you for your hospitality. We found it unusual that there were not visitor comments on the VRBO web site.We will be sending a favourable review to them. Thanks again Ciao,Geoff and Karen BellDid you find this review helpful?
