CHARMING is how guests refer to this home! This Classic Coronado Historical home offers you not only a memorable vacation but to become part of Coronado's history. Built in the early 1900's this home has been remodeled yet maintains the old charm with refinished original hardwood flooring. Enter the front door into your formal livingroom with leather sleeper sofa and loveseat with LCD HDTV and DVD. To your left is the smaller of the two downstairs bedrooms with trundle beds (two oversized twin beds which can be combined to make queen; sleeps two) and ceiling fan.
Continuing through the house you have a full bathroom, formal dining room with old style "European" expanding table seating six and buffet for all your entertaining needs. From the dining room step into your eat-in kitchen with expandable teak table seating three, marble floors and granite kitchen counters with bar seating for two overlooking the den with Chenille Sofa Sleeper (queen sz.), ceiling fan, swivel TV to view while cooking and entertaining and french slider to access deck, backyard and grilling! Around the corner from the Kitchen is the laundry room with iron, ironing board, etc. plus second downstairs bedroom featuring queen bed, ceiling fan and french sliders to access deck and back yard.
Upstairs in the Master Suite you'll find a King Size Bed, vaulted ceilings with open beams, ceiling fan, original cottage style tilt-out windows, TV with DVD and attached bathroom with large walk-in closet!

My husband and our boys stayed over the 4th of July holiday. If you have never been to the fireworks display on Coronado, you are really missing out on a spectacular event. For the past four years, we have vacationed on Coronado specifically because of the holiday event. This was the closest home to the Coronado Ferry Landing that we have stayed at. We were able to walk to the fireworks display and avoided paying the $20 parking fee! Jaci and Van are wonderful hosts and immediately responded to our minor requests for additional supplies to make us feel more at home. I would definitely recommend staying in this beautiful home. Thanks for your hospitality!

Wow, could not have been a better location, especially if you have privledges on the Navy base! Owner was very responsive if we needed her, but we didn't. She checked on us to be sure we had everything we needed, even brought over a pack-and- play crib for our grandson. We will definitely want to rent from Jaci again. She is honest as the day is long! There was absooutely no traffic noise even during transit times from the base. House is perfect for a couple taking a month off from the cold of Michigan. The one negative review is from someone who does not understand Coronado living.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.

We rented this home for the month of February 2011 and it proved to be ideal for us. We are a retired couple travelling with our dog looking for lots of relaxing time on the Island and a base from which to explore San Diego and the surrounding area. The location is few minutes drive or a manageable walk to all the amenities of the ferry terminal area and the village of Coronado. Although situated between the busy Third and Fourth Streets it is in the middle of the block and perfectly quiet and peaceful. The house is charming, clean and well-equipped and the beds are comfortable. We accommodated two friends for a few days and the space was more than adequate. The small back and front yards are pleasant and well-maintained and safe for dogs and small children. We found the owner of the property to be available and helpful when necessary but otherwise completely unobtrusive. We would not hesitate to rent this home again.
Recommended for:Age 55+, pet owners, sightseeing, families with young children.

This house is located between the two busiest streets on the island and there was a lot of noise. The front yard and back patio were constantly filled with dog poop from the owners' dogs. The house was stuffy and hot with no AC. The bed in the front bedroom was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The owner was not accomodating.
Owner response:For the record, these tenants, Jim and Stacy, came to view the property prior to renting AND knew there was no A/C; I can't control the weather, sorry. Even though I gave them an extraordinarily discounted rate for August, this is the kind of review one receives when blackmail doesn't work. They decided to leave a few days early and wanted a refund which unless I can re-rent the home, it won't happen. Tenants said if I refund them they would pull off this negative review..understand? We as landlords who list on VRBO are at the mercy of bitter tenants..it's a shame. Beware Coronado homeowners of these tenants!
