Lake Lure house description
This immaculate mountain home is ideal for a quiet escape from the fast pace of life.
Just over two miles to Lake Lure Beach!! There is so much to do - or do nothing and just relax. Asheville and the beautiful Biltmore Estate are only 25 miles away. Or, shop in the quaint towns surrounding the area.
Lake Lure sits in the heart of Hickory Nut Gorge. East of Asheville, the Rocky Broad River tears its way in a series of rapids down through Hickory Nut Gap. This crystal clear water flows through a valley shaped like a Maltese cross to make Lake Lure. The National Geographic has called Lake Lure one of the most beautiful man-made lakes in the world.

My friend and I were both pleased with the cottage. Its location was ideal; not far from the beach or Chimney Rock. There is a new Ingles grocery store just a few miles from the cottage on NC 9. We came from the Biltmore Estate in Asheville and the cottage was very easy to find coming from that direction. The cottage itself is nice, clean, and well stocked with everything you might need for a comfortable visit, definitely a bargain with a reasonable rental rate. I will definitely rent it again, probably as soon as next year when I make an annual visit to my grandson in Forest City. We took a tour of Lake Lure and it was definitely worth the money. We also walked throughout the town of Chimney Rock and visited most of the shops there. We were unable to go through Chimney Rock Park this trip but will be sure to make it a priority next time. The scenery in the area is beautiful. I highly recommend a visit to Lake Lure and the surrounding area and especially recommend this cottage.

My family enjoyed everything about this beautiful, quaint, well maintained cottage. All of the accomodations were excellent. The owner provided us with directions, maps and area information which was very helpful. The cottage is ideally located in an elevated area overlooking Lake Lure but very near shops and stores. We highly recommend this cottage and hope everyone will help take good care of it so that we can return to enjoy it often.

Great Little Get Away Cottage
Great Little Get Away Cottage
We were very happy with our stay at this cottage. It was very clean, close to a very nice grocery store, easy driving to Asheville. We cooked several times and the kitchen was well stocked, and even though the appliances were old, they worked well. Neighbors were super friendly. The only item that would have made this cottage over the top is wireless access. Luckily, the cottage is located on top of a ridge so cell phone coverage is good. You can not walk to any local attractions from this cottage, so do not rent if you want to park and then walk everywhere. But there are restaurants, grocery stores, zip line adventures, etc., within 10 miles (not the mention Lake Lure and Chimney Rock State Park). Great for less mobile vactioneers as it is a one-story little cottage with only a couple of steps to navigate.

We had a very relaxing stay at Nancy's Cottage. We had everything we needed: the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked, and the linens were very good quality. The cottage was quite a bargain and we will definitely return!

Very nice accommodations, perfect for what we wanted. Privacy, feeling of being home, close enough to town, but not too close as to feel the confines of a city. Would definitely stay here again and hope to do so.

I stayed for 3 nights with my family (2 small children). It was a nice and comfortable place, close to Lake lure beach and Chimney Rock. It is a good deal for the price. I will stay again in the future.
