This house was GREAT! close to Forsyth Park and easy to get to! We walked all over Savannah and never felt too far from anything! Great amenities at the house, coffee, towels, bikes, beautiful courtyard, even a binder with lists of different things to do, menus, suggestions, and maps! They've thought of everything!!! We would DEFINITELY recommend this rental to people of all ages!

My daughter and I spent a week in The Artist House. Very centrally located to historic areas and beach. We were never scared and it had everything that we needed and was extremely clean. Chuck and Deb have thought of everything and it had such "personality" unlike an expensive hotel. Loved the off-street parking. We will definitely stay there on a return trip and I definitely recommend The Artist House for your stay.

This condo is great! It is clean, cute, cozy and walking distance from just about everything. The kitchen is fully stocked and easy to use. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to call home while staying in Savannah. However, 5 adults found the condo a little tight. Two of the beds are only full size making them a bit small for two adults and comfy seating in the living room for 5 required a little bit of rearranging of furniture. Chuck and Deb were great to work with as we tried to get money from 3 states to pay and were gracious hosts. Easily five stars.

We stayed this last weekend and had a wonderful time. The house is very well maintained and extremely clean. The bedding is all in good condition and we all slept quite well. We've stayed at several vacation rentals on the coast of NC for spring break and none were this nice. Anything you may have forgotten was provided including hand soap, toiletries and tissue. The house is beautiful and the courtyard garden was a wonderful extra space for the kids. An earlier review suggested it was overgrown. It was lovely, I'm not quite sure what that person saw that I didn't. I would highly recommend this house. Although it was a slightly longer walk to the river, we were right next to Forsyth park and in a very nice quiet neighborhood. Parking was a breeze and the streets nearby were easy to navigate. Within walking distance we recommend Blowin Smoke for family friendly BBQ. We easily walked to Leopold's for ice cream and loved it.

The Artist house ( Upper) was small, but very adequate for two people. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed, except a washer and dryer. It was quiet and the location was very convenient for walking to Forsythe Park and local cafes. Savannah is a wonderful historic city and has so much character. Many of the homes were huge and beautiful! The people were friendly and the pace was slow. The shopping was great and there were hundreds of restaurants to pick from,. It was so much better to stay in an apartment as opposed to a hotel. The only two complaints I had were that the courtyard was very overgrown and needed to be better maintained and it also would be helpful to put a washer and dryer in the bathroom in the corner where the mirror is. That would save carrying the laundry up and down the stairs. Thanks for everything!.

We had 3 couples stay at this cozy little rental in the upstairs portion of the house. Good location with plenty of parking at an open lot across the street. I trailered a boat which I was concerned about being able to get it around downtown. This house worked out beautifully. We kept the boat in the water at Hogans Marina, they were incredibly helpful and the fishing was great. What an awesome town to hit both the bars and the ocean. Stopped by the Crab Shack on Tybee and ate our fill of seafood. I would recommend this house to anyone, especially for the price. The house was well set up and had really everything we needed, didnt need to bring/buy little things like toilet paper, coffee, sugar ect..it was already there. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We enjoyed our stay and found the house comfortable. We were lacking sheets for the pull out bed but once we made Deb aware of the situation we had sheets well before bedtime. The location is convenient to the many parks and within walking distant to downtown. We enjoyed the many amenities that came with our stay such as beach items, bikes, wifi and ect. We would recommend the house for a stay in Savannah.

This place was perfect! Exactly what we were looking for. Close to the park and downtown. Really nice with lots of extras....bocce ball set, beach chairs and the kitchen had everything you need....including a blender! We loved all the artwork, the bikes and nice touches with the bisscotti and a bottle of wine.

When we arrived, we found that we were on the second floor instead of the first floor as previous emails stated. No picnic basket available. Had to contact the owner of the property for deposit refund when we were told they would contact us. This property rental is NOT for anyone who can climb any stairs. The stair are extremely steep and long. The chairs were not beach compatable. The garden out back was infested with bugs and mosquitos. When we arrived, there were termites climbing the walls in the bathroom. The tub didn't drain properly, therefore leaving you standing in your dirty bath water. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Owner response:We are very sorry you did not have a pleasant stay. I mistakenly sent you the lower floor receipt which I apologized for, but you did request listing 17324 which is the upper floor. and is on our emails. If I had known you had difficulty with steep stairs I would have made you aware. The picnic basket is on the shelf above the stove/stemware. The property description says a beach basket and towels, not beach chairs- But we have added "beach" chairs as well. We would have responded immediately to the water drainage problem and the insects inside if you had let us know-if we are not told about problems then we cannot fix them,( these problems have been fixed). As far as the courtyard, it is hard to control insects outside, especially for summer in Savannah. I leave insect repellant and citron candles. Again, I am sorry it was not what you expected. We have always strived to make our guests comfortable and happy! Sincerely, Chuck and Deb

Your house is fantastic! Beautifully decorated; loved the courtyard; a very comfortable home-away from home. The location was perfect of us. We spent our days at the beach, cooked out on the courtyard grill in the evenings, and later walked to and/or road the bikes in the backyard to nearby Forsyth park. We'll definitely return. In fact, I tried to rent your property recently but, unfortunately, it wasn't available. Believe me...I will try again!

We stayed during parent weekend at SCAD. My son enjoyed having us right near by. The accommodations were sufficient for the 6 of us and plenty of seating when my son dropped by for a visit. The property was clean and the owners were very kind. It was rainy and there were umbrellas there for us to use. Bikes were provided as well and my husband enjoyed using one to see the near by sites! We will definitely stay again, there is plenty to see in Savannah!

A group of 4 of us stayed in the artist house the week of St. Patrick's Day, and it was the perfect location! We were close to Forsyth Park and the parade, and were able to walk downtown to River Street and City Market for the festivities afterward. Downtown was only a short drive away if we didn't feel like walking. The house was away from the crowds but still close to everything!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for Christmas. We loved every second of it. The place is so charming and close to everything. The bikes were definitely great. We took them out to the river one day. What a fun ride that was! This place has everything: location, comfort, Southern charm, a book of things to do, a kitchen with all necessary cook ware, and bikes.

We have just spent a month in this beautiful well-maintained house which exudes the historical character of Savannah. Located at the south end of the historic district, the major attractions are within a twenty minute stroll down tree-lined streets. We only used our car when we wanted to go further afield. The supermarket is just a ten minute walk away. The house is comfortable and well-furnished with a special Georgia touch given by the owner's paintings. Having wireless was an asset. We were greeted by a bottle of wine when we arrived. Given the many rental choices there were, we were thrilled with the place we chose. The rental description was very accurate, and the house was a great home away from home. Savannah is a great city for history and architectural buffs. We loved the Davenport House and the Owens-Thomas House in particular. Thanks Deb and Chuck

My boyfriend's sister had her wedding in Savannah, with her ceremony being in Forsythe Park, and this turned out to be the perfect location for us. Between running around town for wedding needs and also squeezing in some sightseeing, this location could not have been more perfect. It's only about 2 blocks from the park and a short drive or nice walk to everything else. Not only was the location ideal but the condo was too cute. It had everything we needed, including an adorable courtyard that helped us unwind after long days. We loved having a kitchen too - there are tons of great restaurants but it's also nice to be able to wake up and make a pot of coffee and a good breakfast. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone and everyone (I'm actually trying to talk my parents into visiting now). We had 4 adults staying there and it was the perfect size for us. We definitely did not want to leave. Thanks Deb and Charles! We had a great time :)
Owner response:We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to having you return with your family. I love weddings in Forsyth park!

The townhouse is so conveniently located--close to downtown, the historic district, and really easy to navigate from. The previous visit to Savannah we stayed in a hotel on Bay, and this was better in all ways. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment, even a blender, and it was a relief to be able to cook dinner and stay in some nights. It was really wonderful to get back after a hot, sticky day of sightseeing and feel at home. And the front hallway smelled so good! We spent the entire trip trying to figure out what kind of air freshener or potpourri was in use. If we're ever back in Savannah, we are definitely going to stay here again.

I stayed in the upper room this past weekend and had a wonderful time. The bikes came in handy, and the rooms were more than what I had expected. The antiques and artwork gave the place a real Savannah feel adding to our already wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this place to others. This was my first experience with using vrbo dot com, and I am thoroughly impressed. Sorry hotels dot com, you don't compare.

My daughter, son-in-law and I stayed in this very well maintained and quaint townhouse for a weekend in early Sept. '09. It was very comfortable and had lots of helpful info on the area in a binder. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Accommodations were great. We had the good fortune of meeting the owners as we left. A very nice couple.

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful home on Valentine's Day weekend. It was charming, clean, and comfortable. The location was ideal. We enjoyed the short walk to Forsythe Park and other historic sections of town. The owners were very accommodating. There were directions and pamphlets available within the home so we could familiarize ourselves with what historic Savannah had to offer. Overall, our stay was wonderful, and we look forward to returning again next year. Thank you, Deb and Chuck!

During our stay in early February 2009, the Artist's House provided, as advertised, what we had been hoping to find: convenient location, comfort (great bed!), clean and charming quarters, welcoming-responsive-thoughtful hosts with a sense of place, and quiet surroundings. All the appliances, plumbing, and the entertainment center were in working order (unlike home!). The bottle of wine awaiting us on the kitchen table was a nice touch. Only regrets: We weren't able (gimpy knees, etc.) to take advantage of the hosts' bicycles and the lovely walking areas in beautiful Forsyth Square -- and we wished we could have stayed longer.
Owner response:It was a pleasure to have met you as well and we are so glad you had a lovely visit. Next time, try the pedi-cabs (bicycle taxis) to tour Savannah.- Deb and Chuck

This was the perfect place for 2 close couples to spend a long weekend. We were in a great neighborhood, close to everything, and the flexibility of having great spaces "at home" to relax in along with perfect access to a wonderful city made for a truly enjoyable experience. The property was clean, the owners courteous, and the transaction free of hassles. We'll definitely be back!

3 Girlfriends and I had the best time ever staying here. We considered moving in. Everything was perfect....the wine, flowers, furnishings, art. Kitchen was just like home. It had everything. We loved the patio. Enjoyed the bikes. Location was perfect. 15 minutes from the river and 2 blocks from Forsyth Park. Restaurants were fairly close. We had no need to drive all weekend. I can't even begin to say how much we enjoyed the house or, how much fun we had!!!!

Location was just two blocks from the free city shuttle bus, steps to Forsythe Park and near a grocery store. The place was completely stocked with everything we needed plus much more....original art, knickknacks, wine and fresh flowers! We felt like valued quests instead of renters and completely at home. We will definitely recommend this property to anyone traveling to Savannah.-

This was so much nicer than a hotel. We took our grandson and I thought he would miss having a pool but he was so interested in doing the ghost tours and walking around Savannah that he never mentioned a pool. We loved Broughton St. esp the art supply store and Leopold's. It was especially nice to come back to the artist townhouse and relax. We were already talking about coming back before we left Savannah. Thank you again.

We stayed in the lower unit with our two daughters just last week (March 19th through the 21st, 2008). It was conveniently located (2 blocks) to Forsythe Park and you could actually see the Park's famous fountain if you stood in the middle of the street outside the unit. We sat in the Courtyard each afternoon before headed out to dinner, enjoying the wonderful Spring temperatures and the plants that were all just starting to bloom. It was a leisurely walk to City Market, heading through a number of the squares for which this town is so famous. It was a great place to use as a base, as we explored the area for the first time. We will be back.

My 1 year old also enjoyed playing on the nice playground in the beautiful Forsyth Park that was only steps away. I enjoyed the gorgeous strolls to city market & river street…lovely oak lined streets with hanging moss and massive houses next to Forsyth park. And if you are not up for a walk, the city provides free trolley rides all around the historic district of Savannah with one of it stops at Forsyth Park. We had a great time, thanks!

The courtyard is huge and very peaceful in this quiet yet convenient neighborhood. We were all ready to move in permanently if we could have!
