Great little cabin to get away

Guest: michael kline (buford ga)
Date of Stay: 04/27/12 Review Submitted: 05/03/12

I stayed in one of the cabins from 27-28 May for a wedding that was taking place at Brasstown Resort. The cabin was very clean and inviting. There were plenty of supplies (towels, blankets, plates, mugs, ect). In addition, there is a washer/dryer available as well as an iron. The flat screen tv in the living area kept my kids occupied while we got ready, and and the pull out couch made more than enough sleeping space for 4 people. I chose to stay here instead of the resort in order to save some money, and it was a smart decision. After seeing the 200$/night rooms my friends were occupying, I was happy to have this cabin. It is only 4.8 miles away from the resort, and close to the lake and other attractions. One of the best perks of this cabin is that there are no hidden fees. No $100 cleaning fees or application fees. The staff was friendly and easy to deal with. I would definitly recommend this cabin to others for a getaway weekend.

Great little cabin in a lovely, peaceful area

Guest: Patricia D. (Ontario, Canada)
Date of Stay: 04/02/12 Review Submitted: 04/24/12

My husband and I spent 12 nights in one of these delightful cabins, the one with the rooster theme. The place was clean, beautifully decorated, and outfitted with everything you might need for a self-catered stay. We even cooked Easter dinner there, with another couple for company. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather, so we spent a lot of time on the front porch, relaxing after our busy day. Our main purpose for being in this part of Georgia was to hike, and the cabins are situated within a couple of hours of many great hiking areas in Georgia and North Carolina. We enjoyed hiking Brasstown Bald, Raven Cliff Falls, Anna Ruby Falls, Hemlock Falls, the Miller Trek, and trails at Vogel, Unicoi and Black Rock State Parks and Lake Winfield Scott, as well as the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest in NC. We would certainly recommend this property to anyone.

My girlfriend and I were attending an event at Young Harris College last weekend, and we stayed in one of the cabins for just one night......we wish we could have stayed longer. The cabin was very comfortable, well decorated and incredibly clean. I don't know if a better deal can be found. We will definitely be back!

This place is fantastic! Fresh and clean, no smells, great bed and comfortable fold out sofa. The decor is very attractive and the giant flat wide screen tv in the living room is a treat, also the flat screen in the bedroom is nice. The front porch offers privacy as you sit in the big rocking chairs and surf the internet on the "WIFI" while taking in the fresh mountain air. The only thing is I wish we could stay longer. I would highly recommend this for anyone to stay at. Thanks Matt for your hospitality, you have been very helpful to us and we appreciate everything done for us. Thank you!

Excellent Stay!! The cabins were extremely clean and cozy. Matt was there to welcome us as soon as we got there. Just like other guests have said, the cabins are close to town, but are just far enough to give you that privacy. Definately will be staying again!! THANKS!

My girlfriend and I stayed here between Christmas and new Years for 2 days. I simply can't speak highly enough about this place. First, Matt, the owner, was absolutely fantastic in handling all of the details and made it a very easy registration process. The normal price to stay here is 85$ a night peak season. Off season the price is $60 a night that starts on Jan. 1st. He charged us the $60 price even though the off peak season hadn't started yet. Finding this place was very easy. From Atlanta downtown it's only a 2 1/2 hour drive through the mountains and the drive is simply amazing. take your camera. When we drove in to the cabin area, Matt came up behind us and got us settled in. These cabins are quite possibly the most amazing place I have ever stayed at. Simply gorgeous, quiet, secluded, yet only 10 minutes from Young harris and Hiawassee. Also, 10 minutes the other direction is Crane Creek vineyards, which if your interested in wine, you have to visit. Staying here, if you were to live here, you literally only need to bring your clothes and food and you literally wouldn't want for anything. Matt and his wife have simply thought of everything for these cabins. Everything was gorgeous, and tastefully done. Our cabin was a bear theme. All the things they have put in this place was not skimped on in any way. The pot and pan set was wolfgang puck, just to tell you about the quality of this place. They have a 37" HDTV and dvd player along with Dish satellite. We took our Roku box along so we could watch Netflix and Matt even had component cables already wired into the TV. All we had to do was plug it in and go. Oh, they have wireless internet for your laptop, all free of charge. The only thing we had to do was buy an extension cord to reach the outlet. So if you you stay in the middle cabin, there should be the cord in a kitchen drawer. Ciomparing this place to all the other places we looked at, you simply can't find a better deal. Price, location and everything included, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to spend a couple days in the mountains. I know my girlfriend and I will definitely be back. Without a doubt.

Couldnt have been any better...

Guest: Reggie & Virginia (Tallahassee, FL)
Date of Stay: 12/25/10 Review Submitted: 01/18/11

My husband and I can honestly say that our stay during Christmas of 2010 couldnt have been any better. This was our FIRST 'cabin-rental-experience' and it was wonderful. The cabin was SPOTLESS, comfortable, and very nicely decorated. The kitchen had every thing that you would have in your own kitchen and then some. The bathroom was a delight, as we are used to hotel bathrooms, and there was nothing 'hotel' about this one. I can honestly say that we couldnt have found any faults if we had tried. Everything is well supplied, from the clean, soft towels, plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, foil, dish soap, paper towels, to the coffee, wireless and satellite TV - we lacked for nothing. The comfort level could easily make it a place where you would want to stay longer than just a week. The owners were so nice, helpful in every way, accessible if we needed them, and the property was very peaceful and quiet. When we got there on Christmas Day, we promptly got snowed in and it was a delight, a dream property in a dream situation. :) And I can imagine it will be just as delightful visiting in the Spring, Summer or Fall. We have heartily recommended the property, area, owners, price and everything about it to many people since our return home, and will continue to do so. Thank you, Matt & Melissa, for making our first 'cabin-rental' experience such a JOY!! :)

What a great blessing from God to be able to stay in this wonderful place and be able to enjoy the beauty of all His creation! We just spent the weekend here while getting our daughter settled in Young Harris College and this place was immaculate. The owners were so welcoming to us and we can't wait to go back again and know for a fact that we will come here very often for the next 4 years while she is in college. The cabins were so quiet and secluded, yet just 5 miles from Young Harris College, not to mention the fact that when you are coming down the road from the cabin, the mountain views are Absolutely Amazing. To put icing on the cake, so to speak, each and every individual that we came in contact with in the town of Young Harris, Hiawassee, and even in North Carolina were so incredibly nice to us. We were just amazed all weekend long and felt as if we had been in this area all of our lives. I can't say enough about this place or this weekend. Thanks so much for your Southern Hospitality!!! Perfect stay and great management

Date of Stay: 08/01/10 Review Submitted: 10/05/10

I just stayed about two months at Countrytime Cabins and I couldn't have had a better stay. Matt & Melissa keep the cabins absolutely immaculate and they've thought of everything in terms of your needs as a guest (kitchen items, linens, Internet, HD Dish TV, DVD player) and the overall presentation/decoration of the cabins. I remember several instances in the kitchen of, "oh, there's not a ______," only to find what I needed moments later. It's really as good as the photos, and the grounds are similarly maintained to perfection. Matt & Melissa are around whenever you need them, and not around when you don't need them. Upon arrival, Matt sketched out a map of the area and immediately made us feel welcomed and at home in our new surroundings. Highly recommended--you simply can't go wrong (especially with no cleaning charges, which are often way overpriced).

This cabin has all the comforts of home -- and then some! It's in pristine condition and it's quite obvious that Matt and Co. take GREAT care of the property. They went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable, and I can't wait to go back in the summer to get away from the South Florida heat and humidity! Perfect for a romantic getaway or a much-needed break from the "real world." Next time I'll bring the girlfriend, though -- not the dog. Wink!

Me and my wife went up to this cabin in October and with so many places to choose from, we were blessed to find this location. This is a great place to stay for a vacation, way up in the mountains. Extremely clean and neat. We went up to Brasstown Bald (got great pictures) and the Georgia Mountain Festival and had a blast! The owners are extremely nice and helpful (i.e. if you need a map or directions, places to eat). The location is perfect for anybody looking for convenience to Young Harris, Brasstown Bald, Hiawassee, and North Carolina. Very private, secluded, and peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Great place to kick back and relax. We will be back shortly!

This was our second visit to Country Cabins. The cabins are so beautiful, warmly decorated and have everything you need, all top of the line. The owners are very friendly, warm people, who are always available for whatever you might need. At our first visit, Matt (owner) helped us setup a Christmas Tree to surprise our son (he lives in Young Harris). We take our dog,Pablo, and he is welcomed. We will continue to return every year, as this is our home in Georiga, that is the way Matt & Melissa (owners) make us feel. Treat yourselves, visit Country Cabins. Our Cozy Cabin was above our expectations! With the other cabins we were worried about privacy, we got privacy and more. We (my boyfriend and chiweenie) enjoyed having satellite TV along with a kitchen fully stocked with any of utensil you would need. We thoroughly enjoyed the coziness of the cabin. On our last day we grilled on the private grill we had. It was wonderful. We will definitely be back. Far but easily convenient to town life including a winery nearby. Thank you!

We spent one of the nicest Christmas we have ever had. The cabin was fantastic from the second you saw the outside to when you walked inside. Everything said "WELCOME" and you just felt all your worries lift of your back. We loved the cd's of the fire places and could imagine the heat coming from them. Everything was top quality, especially the silverware. We have already told many about your great cabins. What a great place to plan family get togethers for any occasion. Thank you so much for the great stay, we will be back!!!!!!!!!! Ruth, Tom & Brandy

We were looking for a getaway location, and this is it. One of our activities was to do some mountain stargazing. Well, it was rainy and cloudy the entire time, so we never saw many stars. However, we view this as just an excuse to come back again to this delightful place ;) The Young Harris College planetarium was nice, and the John C. Campbell Folk School was awesome!

Good morning! I've been meaning to email you all last week and just never got around to it. Trying to catch up after the amazing time we had in the mountains. I wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our time at your cabins. They are not only beautiful, but so useful. When I say useful, I mean the layout of the cabins is so functional and "user friendly". The decor was fantastic! We loved the towels, the dishes and silverware were of incredible quality and the linens were clean and comfortable. The children slept on the sofa bed and said it was very comfortable and our bed was firm and so nice to lay down on after a day filled with walking and looking at the leaves. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. Thanks so much for letting us use your sticks and lawn chairs. We will definitely recommend your property to all our friends and we are already planning our next visit. Thank you again for your hospitality and may God continue to bless this business venture and you and your family. Sincerely, L. Hinson

Very nice out of the way place to stay. The property is very clean and quiet. The cabin has all the necessary items you could possibly need. It has close access to stores. I have stayed there a few times and I was thinking about an extended stay while building a home in the area. The BBQ grill and flat screen TV(with movies) are my favorite. All amenities are modern.

We've stayed in these cabins twice now. They are always clean and the service is excellent! The location is great for the North Georgia area as it's close enough to ride the train in Blue Ridge, drive over to the lake in N.C., see Brasstown Bald, etc. The cabins are very cozy and secluded. The star gazing at night is amazing as there is about a 2-3 acre open field directly behind the cabins. There is also a fire pit for making smores and roasting marshmellows. You can hear the stream behind the cabins too. It's very calming. We've stayed at a few different places in the North Georgia mountains and this is definitely one of our favorites. The owners offer fresh eggs from their free range chickens too. We made fresh pancakes one morning using their eggs. They were awesome!!! The kitchen is very functional and there is an Ingles food store only a few miles away. As far as dining, there are several local eateries to choose from. We hope to go back up later in the winter when there might be a good chance of snow.

My husband and I (and dogs)have stayed at Countrytime Cabins twice and were very impressed. The owners have done a beautiful job designing, building, finishing, and decorating these jewel-like cabins! Every little detail has been thought of to make the cabins clean, cozy and comfortable. There was even a fresh container of half and half in the refrigerator to accompany the selection of coffees! No powdered creamer!!! We loved the privacy and the accessibility to Hiawassee, the cabin ambiance and the high speed internet. What a find!
