Ridgewood Condominiums are on the corner of Ridgewood and Tyler. The beach is about a 150 yard walk down the street to a beach crossover boardwalk. This is a no-drive beach, and you can bring a cooler with whatever you like, just no glass. The Cocoa Beach pier is about a mile south, Ron Jon and other surf attractions a little further. Area is mostly low density residential, and there are no big public parking lots so the beach is nearly never crowded.
The Port is a couple of miles away and has gambling boats, fishing charters, cruise ships, and waterside restaurants. All kinds of restaurants just a short drive away. Kennedy Space Center about a half hour away, you can see the launches from the beach! Downtown Orlando and Disney, Universal, etc. a little over an hour away.
This is an owner used and maintained condo, and we take pride in it. In June 2011 we redid the floor and painted in the main living area, new curtains, new bathroom decor, new ceiling fan in the bathroom, you get the idea- we like to keep the place looking nice, in a fun beach theme. Oh, and a nice new table and chairs with an umbrella for the front patio.
The exterior of the whole complex has been renovated and has new stucco, paint and balcony railings a couple of years ago. They also just put in a little BBQ area right in front of our unit, just bring your own charcoal and you are ready to go.
Separate bedroom and bathroom off of main living/dining room. Full kitchen. Queen-size bed in bedroom and queen futon in living room, can easily sleep two couples or a small family. Big color TV with cable, DVD player, and stereo. There is a front fenced patio with a shower and hose for easy beach clean-up, room to lay out on the loungers, or just jump in the pool steps from your front door!
No smoking inside, but the outside patio is pretty nice for this. ONE DOG ONLY under 30lbs is allowed (condo association rules), it would require additional damage/cleaning deposit. Just ask, I am reasonable.

Why the Owner Chose Cape Canaveral
Beach and pool.... need I say more? And having the Cape close, you can watch shuttle and rocket launches from the beach just a block away!
Cocoa Beach Pier- fish from the pier, have a drink or meal overlooking the waves. A popular but usually crowded surf spot. Lots of action going on here! Watch where you park though, don't get towed or a ticket!
The wood walkway over the dunes is literally a two minute walk from the condo. Bring your cooler (alcohol is allowed) on wheels and enjoy the beach! BUT- no glass containers or dogs on the beach...
This side of the port is where you can take chartered fishing trips, or just go check out the cruise ships and have a drink or dinner on the water. One of our favorites is Rustys for no frills good food and drinks, at a reasonable price. Often there is live music outside on the deck. There are plenty of other good places all in one area, so you have lots of options.
Well, you have seen the billboards since Georgia or farther so do I really need to describe it? It is what it is, a gigantic store with about anything you would need for the beach. I surf, so I would rather you support local, small surf shops (they are all over the area), especially if buying or renting surfing specific products. But it is worth having a look, it is immense!
A classic Greek diner, with just about ANYTHING you could imagine on their menu. Go for traditional breakfast or authentic Greek food anytime of the day. Check their daily specials. One of our favorites. Think outside of the box and try the Gyro omelet, I have had others but they don't compete!
Good BBQ, beer selection, and fun outdoor patio and bar area (where we always sit). Lots of TVs with all of the games. Live music at night sometimes, usually just a local guy with an acoustic guitar who is really good. Really fun place, you won't be disappointed. Dress as you are....
Simply good food and plenty of it, great prices and friendly staff. The owner/cook will regularly walk the restaurant to make sure you enjoyed it. Never had a bad meal or left hungry. Little bit of everything.

When the condo is open I use it to be close to the beach to enjoy surfing and other beach activities. I also love the local restaurants and bars, and usually make a trip to Rusty's at the port at least once. I recommend the fish tacos! Or if you are feeling BBQ in a really fun outdoor bar setting, you have to check out Slow and Lo on S A1A (couple of miles past Ron Johns near downtown Cocoa Beach).

My husband and I rented this condo for 2 months (September & October 2011) and could not have been happier with what we got. Great apartment in the perfect location! If you are traveling down to Cape Canaveral and want to be close to the beach and shopping, look no further. Well maintained apartment with friendly neighbors as well, we could not have asked for anything more than what the place had to offer. I would definitely recommend to anyone out there!

This was the perfect place to live for the summer. It had everything I needed and the location was to die for!!! The beach is practically in your backyard and there is a lot of great places to eat in the surrounding area. The owner was very helpful and responsive if I had any questions or needed anything. The only downside for me was having to pay to do laundry, but besides that I LOVE IT!
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Great place! Very quaint and quiet location just a block or so from the beach. Clean complex with a nice pool. Owner keeps the unit in nice, clean, fully-fuctional condition. Highly recommended for a weekend getaway or an extended vacation!
