Great vacation home at a Great Value!!

Guest: Happy VA Vacationers (Springfield, VA)
Date of Stay: 12/29/11 Review Submitted: 01/29/12

Our family spent 8 days this past New Year Holiday in this beautiful home. It is exactly as the site describes the home and more! The home was equipped with all the amenities of a real home and you once never felt like you were in a rental. We have family in downtown Hilo so we had to drive in everyday. It takes about 15-20 minutes to drive to Hilo but it was a nice easy drive. I recommend it highly and will definitely consider it the next time we go back to visit!

Xmas in Keaau

Guest: Doc (Santa Rosa, CA)
Date of Stay: 12/19/11 Review Submitted: 12/27/11

This house is a wonderful place, particularly for those who like Japanese style architecture and the ability to open things up with shoji doors. It rained most of the time, but that is to be expected for the area and time of year. The windward side of the island has lot to offer, from water falls to Kilauea volcano to the warm pool and surf in Kapoho. The Lyman museum in Hilo is also worth a visit. Fresh fruit and veggies are available nearby at the farmers market in Keaau, on the road towards Pahoa, or in Hilo.

Peaceful

Guest: Daisy (Minnesota)
Date of Stay: 11/16/11 Review Submitted: 11/27/11

Fun and interesting place to spend a few days with family. Plenty of room for our family of three. We only used the upstairs bedroom and the kitchen. I enjoyed the inside garden and loved watching the rain from the front lanai. Didn't get to use the pool because it rained everyday we were there. That's Hilo :) Clean comfortable and very peaceful. Mahalo for sharing your place with us.

Awesome little getaway

Guest: Weezie (Oahu, Hawaii)
Date of Stay: 03/03/11 Review Submitted: 11/05/11

My husband and I live on Oahu and really enjoy going to the Big Island every once in a while...this house is perfect for it. You can walk to the ocean in less than 5 minutes and the views from the cliffs are awesome. The volcano is close by, and Hilo is just a 20 minute drive away to explore shops and for the Farmer's Market. There are also smaller farmers markets in the smaller towns along the way that we loved going to. The house is clean, comes with the kitchen essentials and even some bonuses like a hand mixer, electric kettle, etc. There are a bunch of goldfish in the pond and our son loved to feed them. The pool and deck out back are nice for sunbathing and a quick dip whenever you want to cool off...nice and private too. The house itself is so beautiful too - a lot of the windows/walls are floor to ceiling and can be completely opened like sliding glass doors so it almost seems like you are outside, but also have panels that you can slide into place for privacy. All in all, so peaceful and awesome. We will definitely be back!

A little Slice of Heaven

Guest: Littles (Louisiana )
Date of Stay: 09/14/10 Review Submitted: 10/20/11

This little slice of heaven is surrounded by nature, in a peaceful, private, quiet neighborhood. The home is clean, spacious, and comfortable both inside and out. Take a walk through the backyard to see local plants and gather fruit off the trees. Or head straight to the pool to relax in the sun with a good book. If the sun is too strong, no problem. The walls of this Japanese inspired home open up letting in the warm breeze of the tropics. Yes, you read that right. The walls are shoji and completely slide open to give you a beautiful view of Hawaii. Both interior and exterior doors slide open and are also easy to lock so the home is secure. The inside of the home is built surrounding an indoor garden with a stream full of goldfish. This is one of my favorite features as it brings peace to the home without letting in the outside world. This is a one of a kind home and I will definitely come back. Special Bonus’s: Fully equipped kitchen Washer and dryer Books to read Guest sign in book where people share advise on the area Close to town and farmers markets
