We are local owners and have the first Surf Shop in Kona since 1978, called' Pacific Vibrations Surf Shop'
Its a family run business. We are also involved with the Ironman Triathlon World Championship as
directors of the Waterpatrol since the early 1980's.
We take pride in doing a great job in whatever we do, so, hopefully you will want to book our home.

We are in a National Historical area, Kahalu'u, in the lower Kula Zone, within 250 ft. elevation. Traditionally, coincides with the highest density of residential, ceremonial and burial features in the ahupua'a. Coastal Kahalu'u are attributed to the presence of various ruling Chiefs. Legendary associations with Lono-i-ka-makahiki, Kalani'opu'u, the ruling chief. Ke'eaumoku, father of Ka'ahumanu and uncle of Kamehameha I, was awared Kahalu'u and Keauhou after Kamehameha unified the Hawaiian Islands. Kuakini was born in Kahalu'u, as were Miriam Kekauluohi, and Kamehameha III. From 1812-1813 Kamehameha I, Ka'ahumanu and Keouolani lived at Kahalu'u. All 5,443 acres of Kahalu'u were granted to Victoria Kamamalu during the Great Mahele in the mid-1800. Elite residence at the coast in Kahalu'u were their favorite place to live, because of the Beauty, and the use of the coastal enviroment of marine resources procurement activities, clustered permanent habitation and communal structures. So, come and enjoy where the earliest ruling chiefs called home. Their love for Sunny , dry weather, a calm ocean for fishing, rolling waves for Surfing, and productive upland gardens, enumerated as the reasons the area was an especially favored place for the ruling chiefs. Estimated to date from the early AD 1600s.

We arrivered Christmas and were welcomed with a little tree with gifts under it! We had a baby with our extended family and the owners had many toys for her to play with, very thoughtful... The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare dinner, make sandwhiches and make drinks. They had a washer & dryer (which we used many times) a BBQ grill. Best vacation ever!Owner response: It truly makes me " Hauoli", (Happy) when my guest feel this way. We try to make their vacation special and memorable. Having a comfortable relaxed stay in our "Hale" (Home), is what we strive "Live Aloha"! Our "Ohana" (family) has been in the retail business in Kona for 35 years. We are the First and Oldest Surf Shop in Kona, "Pacific Vibrations Surf Shop" since 1978. We work daily with people so its our lifestyle, its quite easy...if you" Give Aloha! you get "Aloha"! Mahalo! The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals, make sandwhiches and make drinks too. We had a washer & dryer (we used them many times!) and BBQ grill. The owners of this home definitely made us feel welcome and valued! We had a group of 10 all with different likes and dislikes, no one "wanted" for anything! Staying here was just like being at home. We were a decent drive from anywhere we wanted to go or a quick walk to the beach up the road. The neighbours were also very welcoming and gave us great insight into "local" places to eat, to see and to enjoy! A great place to celebrate a 50th birthday! Aloha and Mahalo!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

Our rates start at $225 per night up to 4 people. Additional people is $25 per night, per person, up to 10. Rates start at $250 for Ironman, Christmas, and New Years. There is a cleaning charge of $250 and a refundable security deposit of $500. Taxes are 13.42%
Its $200 to make the reservation, then the full balance would be due 30 days upon arrival date. And, 60 days prior to Ironman, Christmas, and New Years. We accept Visa, Master, and American Express. Also, we do accept checks provided its paid well in advance.
