The Hideaway is a cozy beach house (sleeps 4) plus a separate studio (sleeps 4), nestled into natural coastal vegetation. It is two blocks from the beach, with just a peek of the surf from the house. Along five miles of uncrowded sandy beach you'll see magnificent surf, seals, fishing boats, and-if you're lucky-whales during their seasonal migrations.
Located in tranquil Gleneden Beach, you will enjoy the quiet of a small community, solitude on the beach, and also be minutes from Lincoln City with it's movie theaters, restaurants, shopping, casino, antique stores, gift shops, glass blowing, and more. Less than 10 minutes from the crashing surf at Boiler Bay and the quaint town of Depoe Bay, where you can arrange for charter fishing and whale-watching excursions.
This home is very comfortable with newer appliances and furnishings and offers the opportunity to hang out together in the great room of the main house and then have the privacy of your own separate unit as well.
The main home was freshly painted and decorated in 2008. The studio has a new leather sofa sleeper. Overall, the Hideaway has a relaxing, non-overwhelming ambience.
Your well-behaved dog is welcome to stay at the Hideaway and enjoy this incredible beach with you. ($50 pet fee) Dog throws, towels, bed, and bowls are provided. There are some rules, to help the Hideaway remain clean and pleasant for all guests. Dogs MUST be housebroken and may not be on the furniture and bedding. They may not be left unattended in the Hideaway unless they are in a kennel crate. (Sorry to say, but not everyone has been considerate, so this paragraph had to be expanded.)
The main house features a friendly, open great room with a fully equipped kitchen, living room, dining area, gas fireplace-stove, futon sleeper sofa, and cushy sofa, love seat, and chaise lounge. Dining table seats 4. Bedroom has a queen-sized bed and shelves with books, games, and magazines. The main house also has a 10-jet Kohler body spa, laundry appliances, dishwasher, refrigerator-freezer with ice maker and through-the-door water, satellite TV, DVD, VCR, & wireless internet. Covered porch and extended deck let you sit outside rain or shine.
The second unit is a large studio with a new, queen-sized, leather sleeper sofa in the living room, queen mattress in loft, kitchenette with seating for four, and bathroom with shower. It also has satellite TV, DVD, VCR, & wireless internet. Wood-planked walls impart a warm, cabin-like feel.

- Pet Friendly: Your well-behaved, housebroken dog is welcome. $50 pet fee. For cleanliness and as a courtesy to others, dogs are NOT allowed on the furniture and beds. Also, they must not be left alone in the house unless in a kennel crate and MUST be reliably housebroken. Dog throws and dishes provided.
- Kid Friendly: The only caution is that young children should not be allowed in the loft. There is a sliding door to block access to the loft steps.

- Smoking Not Allowed: Outdoor smoking only. Please use ashtray that is provided on the porch and dispose of butts in trash.

- The Beach is two short blocks away and has low, easy, public access. It is a beautiful beach with very few people on it for private walks, very good agate hunting, and star gazing. Salishan Golf Course, Resort, Spa, Shops, & Siletz Municipal Airport are within about 0.5-1 mile to the northeast. Gleneden Beach State Recreation Area is a few blocks to the south, a nice place to look for whales, make S'mores, & watch the sun set over the sea! Property is ideally located for sightseeing forays along the scenic Central Oregon coast, souvenir and gallery shopping, many excellent small restaurants. Try your hand at crabbing from shore in Siletz Bay, watch the seals & occasional windsurfers. Charter fishing and crabbing out of Depoe Bay (4 miles away) or Newport (25 miles away).
