This large cottage sits on the crest of a hill overlooking Frenchman Bay, about 200 yards below. Meadows and woods surround the property. A spacious deck off the rear of the house provides a wonderful view and gathering area, perfect for an outdoor lunch, grilling, or glass of wine with cheese before dinner. The three bedrooms and full bath are found upstairs. The “master bedroom” overlooks the bay and includes a nook with a sink and mirror. The second bedroom has a double bed and attached half-bath. The third bedroom has four single beds.
The first floor has a large, open living room with a view to the bay and mountains, a dining area, and a wood-burning fireplace. Also on the first floor are the kitchen, a washer and dryer, and a half-bath. A screened-in porch attached to the kitchen can serve as a breakfast alcove, or more sleep area.
Walk down the hill from the house and you will reach a large cove, where a boat can be moored and kayaks kept on shore. The bay waters feature remarkable clarity, dolphins and seals, and nearby islands open for exploring.
Also within walking distance is a spring-fed pool (belonging to the town) which has a sand beach and sunbathing platform. For golfers, a scenic, 9-hole, public course, Bonnie Blinks, is about 1.5 miles away. The town also has tennis courts.
Nearby tide pools, paths, and sand beaches provide a natural playground for children. Hiking and exploring opportunities also abound.
Daily delivery of organic fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy and meats can be arranged through local providers (business names forthcoming).
Large circulation newspapers such as the New York Times and Boston Globe can be found, or reserved, at the gas station and 'mini mart' on Route 1, about five minutes away.
