This house offers the feeling of being outside “inside” and that is what makes this 3 bedroom and 2 bath home (Plus outside shower) a true gem. The interior is skillfully handcrafted wood designs that set this house apart from any other. -This house is artsy and whimsical and we loved every minute of our stay- are exact words from 2009 guests.
The first floor offers a bright and airy kitchen, living room / dining room combo, bath and bedroom not to mention the entry way with stairs up to the second floor. The second floor offers 2 large bedrooms and a full bath with a claw foot tub. Lots of windows and french doors on all bedrooms for natural light makes this home feel “cozy” and for being an in town home there is plenty of privacy with a large spacious back lawn and 180 degrees of water.
What’s great is you can barely see this house from the road which is rare for an “in-town” property. So enjoy the bonuses of a waterfront home and take advantage of being able to walk to everything in town, you almost won’t need a car when vacationing at this home! Bring your bikes and pack a lunch while using the car just for day trips to places like Acadia National Park or try your luck in Bangor’s newest Casino Hollywood Slots. Both places only about 40 minutes away by car. Wild Acadia in Trenton is a must for anyone with kids and Pirates Cove in Bar Harbor where you can mini golf through caves and putt on a pirates ship! With so many things around to do you won’t be bored and with so many restaurants within walking distance of this property we are positive you won’t go hungry feeding on fresh Maine seafood!
A few aspects of this property may not be suitable for small children— such as the lack of handrails on the interior stairs. In other ways it’s just perfect for kids who are capable of independent activity.
Kids at Blue Hill House can walk to the water’s edge, collect rocks, shells and mud at low tide, walk to the library, bookstore, park, grocery or to the “Fish Net” for a soft drink or to join their friends, all without Mom or Dad ever touching the car keys. Expose your family to the joys of country waterfront living, while being part of the vibrant life of one of Maine’s loveliest bustling vacation villages. This is a fabulous and unique opportunity that is difficult to find in the rental market.
