Great Stay for Large Family
Great Stay for Large Family

We stayed there during the summer of 2010. While this review is quite late, we have to say it was one of the best experiences we've had as a large family (grandparents, two daughters, husbands and children - 8 of us total). The photos don't do the property justice. The Kitchen was completely updated and we all experienced some Kitchen appliance envy. It was beautifully laid out and well stocked. The only rule is that you replace what you use. It seems that there were 5 bedrooms, but one bedroom down in the Basement was unused and could be considered more of another recreation room although there was a bed in there. We were pleased to have access to a full size washer and dryer as well as it allowed us to keep up on our laundry and travel home with clean clothes rather than having to come home with dirty ones. There was loads of room for all of us and we had the opportunity to get away from each other as well when too much closeness became too much. We were close to shopping for stocking up on groceries and necessities and very close to all of the activities that we chose to participate in (hikes, rafting, tours, shopping, etc.) We didn't eat out at all as we chose to cook and bbq out frequently. The house was/is beautifully maintained and everything worked well. The hot tub was not working and a part was on order, so we didn't have the use of that, but it was not missed and it is not a complaint. It was fixed on our last night there so the kids enjoyed sitting in a very cold tub with massaging bubbles - but that's kids for you. The owners were available and made sure that everything was as it should be. We had the highlight of seeing nature daily with visits from a deer family every evening. We saw some elk and a family of racoons. The neighbor had donkeys and some chickens which added to the rustic charm. The neighbor, by the way, is far enough away to grant you some valuable privacy. We enjoyed the fire pit in the back yard and tried our hand at fishing as well. The only downside was the mosquitos which were very large and agressive as they have such a short life span...bug spray was the only answer. The stars out at night were gorgeous (there are no lights out there other than what you choose to have lit) and we witnessed a full moon which was amazing with the backdrop of Glacier's mountains. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we had everything we needed. Should we be out that way again, we'd choose this home every time.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

With the doe that visited daily, came a well-stocked and appointed log cabin that easily sleeps at least eight. The kitchen was modernized and the showers never ran out of hot water. The beds slept as comfortable as the ones back home. Near GNP, it serves as a great base for all local activities. Highly recommend!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
