Christmas at OMA Lodge

Guest: Family (Washington)
Date of Stay: 12/23/11 Review Submitted: 01/10/12

We had a wonderful family Christmas at OMA lodge. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The game tables were great and we had some very competitive games. Lots of space for everyone. Easy to get to with great parking out front which made easy access for senior family members. Beautifully decorated tree and cabin was very warm and inviting.

14 person friend gathering was flawless!

I searched for several years looking for that "wood cabin out in the middle of the woods" and FINALLY found it! Myself and 13 of my friends rented the Oma Lodge for a 'pre-holiday chaos' get together. This is a gorgeous building and my favorite part was EVERYTHING inside was made of wood and looked like someone walked out the back door, chopped down a tree and made the dining room table, the coffee table, the bunk beds, everything! Speaking of the beds, they are great! I've been in hotels that didnt have as comfortable beds. It was 25 degrees in the evenings and the central heat and wood burning stove kept the place wonderfully warm. I actually had to turn it down one night. The kitchen is stocked with nearly everything you'd find in your own house: utensils, casserole dishes, tupperware, wine openers, etc. With 14 people, I never felt crammed. Tons of stuff for everyone to do all over the cabin from the X-Box, foos ball table, air hockey table upstairs, to all the board games and DVD player and flat screen LCD tv downstairs, outside they have the giant chess board (which is quite awesome) and the fire pit, the hot tub and tons of woods to play in. The stream is just a couple minutes walk out the back down. While these is nothing I would suggest that they change, advice I would give to future renters is: 1.) This is a real log cabin. There is not dry wall, no sound proofing, etc. There are spaces between the logs in a couple spaces which means you can hear throughout the cabin. I was in the downstairs bedroom by the front door and as soon as someone was up in the morning making breakfast, I was awake because I could hear them. People upstairs said they could hear others in the bedrooms. BUT... thats part of the novelty. 2.) The lofts ladder is straight up and down, has very little space for your feet on the rungs and you have to twist to get up into the loft because the roof slants over. Just saying, this may be best for teenagers. :) 3.) They say most people get cell service however out of the 14 of us, only 1 of us ever had cell service there. However they do rent a Verizon 4G WIFI unit you can use. Usage was a little shotty but good enough for everyone to get their internet fix. 4.) Take time to look around. Look for the bear head peaking out of one of the logs, the big fish coming out of the wall and take time to read the explanation about Oma's quilt. We felt like she was right there with us making sure we had a good time. Thank you Oma!

Our favorite vacation destination!

We love the Oma Lodge and have stayed there three times. Whenever we discuss heading somewhere different for the next year's vacation, the kids start waxing poetic about the Lodge and we go back again. It's gotten even better every visit. The log home is enormous and the owner continues to upgrade and add features with every year. We have a large group (12-14 depending on the year) and are able to spread out in the home with room to spare. There are activities for everyone if we just wanted to stay at the home and be cozy (hot tub, basketball hoop, swing set, wonderfully-equipped kitchen, 2 TVs, satellite reception, fooseball and air hockey, board games, puzzles, all the wood you could ever use for the wood stove and even laundry detergent for the washer and dryer. Each room is decorated in a warm theme. Lake Wenatchee is very near and is spectacularly beautiful. Leavenworth is close and there is much to do there (shopping, miniature golf, hiking, a theater, restaurants and cafes...). The owner is very professional and also very kind. When our van broke down as we left last year, she let us stay in the house after our contract had ended and helped us get transportation home--truly a Good Samaritan. We've rented vacation homes on the Washington and Oregon coasts in the past, but since we found Oma Lodge, we just keep going back!

Our family had a wonderful time at Oma's Lodge! Everything we needed was at out fingertips. We were able to create very special memories with Mom, Dad, 4 (grown) kids, and our 85 year old Grandma. We played games, ate, laughed, and soaked in the hot tub. It was a welcoming place to come 'home' to after snowmobiling. Would love to stay longer next time!

Oma Lodge was wonderful and I can't wait to plan a trip back. We had 5 couples and one single friend who took the sleeping loft. Everyone had plenty of space and really enjoyed the lodge. The firepit and hot tub really made the place special. The living room was perfect for setting up Rock Band with enough seating for all the non rock stars to sit back and "enjoy" the show. The beds and furniture were all very clean and comfortable. This is the perfect group getaway location no matter what time of year.

A group of friends and I wanted to enjoy Oktoberfest in Leavenworth - but also have some time to ourselves. Oma Lodge was perfect. We had a group of 20, but it never felt crowded. The amenities were a perfect balance - some enjoyed the hot tub while others played Foosball. Lots of games. Great sound system. It was clean and comfortable. They were a pleasure to work with and their property is gorgeous. I can't wait to go back!

Our office used the Oma Lodge for our annual Staff retreat and we had a blast! The living/working space was plenty to accomodate all of us and the entire house was perfectly clean when we arrived. All of us want to take our families to Brunner's now!

Oma Lodge was awesome - a perfect fit for us. There were 15 of us ranging in age from 27-43 and everyone absolutely loved it. We fit 15 of us easily, the hot tub and firepits and foozball table were a total hit, and we couldn't have had more fun. We'd definitely come back.
