Year Purchased: 1953
About the owner: I was born and raised in Corvallis. After high school, I spent 4 years in the military. Upon discharge, I enrolled and graduated from OSU with an art degree. After I graduated, I purchased the farm from my parents and built my studio and display room here. I have been a working ceramic artist since 1969 and I have been selling pottery and trees from this farm since 1973.
Why the Owner Chose Corvallis: My mother's family moved to Oregon via covered wagon in 1852. They settled in the Willamette Valley. My father traveled from the midwest in 1936, married my mother Lucille and they settled permanently in Corvallis. I purchased this tree farm from my parents when I graduated from college. I built my studio and I have been selling pottery and trees here ever since.
The Unique Benefits at this House: The city has grown up around us, the tree farm remains a peaceful refuge. There is a ring of ancient oaks around us. And almost every evening in the summer, a beautiful wind from the Pacific blows across the valley and through our oaks and firs.
