Why the Owner Chose Gig Harbor

Some of my favorite times with my husband or girl friend has been to escape to a Cottage and just be "us". I wanted to create a space for couples or a single person that helped forget the fast pace world for a few hours or days. And how can you do that with out your buddy, your dog. So we also created an enviroment easy to maintain for visiting pets. I've been told the Cottage has a great calming effect.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage

I have escaped there with girl friends, alone and with my husband and always come away feeling relaxed. I love the changing moods of the water, sitting on the patio not seeing another house near, watching the birds and ducks stake out their territory and yet knowing minutes away is the Village of Gig Harbor.

Spent another winter week at the cottage. Just as great as the first visit. Everything as described on the site and Jo is so great to work with. Will be back again.

Wow. Full view of Burley Lagoon.

I stayed here for a quiet winter retreat in December 2010. The cottage is an open floor plan with separate room areas. This allows for views from all "rooms" via the wall of windows overlooking Burley Lagoon. Great for cloud and water watching, as well as an assortment of birds. The waterline is a short distance down the yard. Access to Gig Harbor, and other small towns is very close. The cottage is well stocked with about anything you could need. I would highly recommend. It would be perfect for a romantic getaway, or solo trip. One of the couches converts to another bed, so 3-4 people or a family could certainly stay here.

Recommended for:Romantic getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+.

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time at the cottage. We were able to get oysters, clams and mussels right out in front of the cottage on the beach. We also saw otters and seals in the water almost daily as well as the resident eagles and baked quite a few pies from the apples & blackberries on the property.We will be back next summer!
