This 2 bedroom 2 bathroom is a beautiful and comfortable villa. It's a short walk from the villa to the beach and is located in a quiet neighborhood. Shopping, bars and restaurants are nearby; you walk, bike or drive to these slightly more commercial areas. Fiddler's Cove Resort is a great vacation place for small families, couples and active seniors. You can hear the surf at night from the deck. The unit faces east so the deck is in the shade from the afternoon sun. You can sit out on the deck in the afternoon enjoying a cool drink while you decide what you want to do about dinner. You can also just walk across the parking lot to the Clubhouse to enter one of 2 pools on the property. A dip before dinner or before bed can be very relaxing. For 2014, all the beach chairs are new and I've put a deck box on the deck to store the chairs and other items. I hope this will protect them better from the weather. I've also added a garbage disposal in the kitchen sink. I hope that helps make clean up easier!
Fiddler's Cove does not allow pets on the property. This is a No Smoking unit. Beach towels and beach cart are available to help make your walk to the beach easy. There is cooler with wheels you may take to the beach if you want and there is a vacuum cleaner in the closet in the twin bedroom. There are also a couple of beach chairs under one of the beds that you should feel free to use. They just don't fit in the deck box. There is parking, bathroom facilities, boardwalk and fresh water outdoor showers to rinse your feet and 'stuff' at Folly Field Beach so you can drive if you do not want to walk the short distance. ...moreless

Hilton Head is a golfer's, beach lover's and biker's paradise. The beach is well within walking distance of the condo, shopping is just a quick bike ride away. The bird watching is fantistic, especially during the seasonal migrations. Pack your binoculars! Walk or bike around Pinkney Island Wildlife Preserve. Depending on the season, you might see fluffy baby egrets in the nest as I did recently. If you're walking around Ibis Pond, you might come upon Mama Alligator sunning on the edge of the pond. She's keeping an eye on her babies. I counted 5 on the pond bank with her and noticed several more in the water, near her. Leave her alone and she'll leave you alone. I recommend taking bikes to Pinkney, but if you have the time and energy, you'll see more wildlife if you're walking. Do you want to kayak? There are several outfitters on the island so join a guided group. There are also several outfitters who will rent kayaks by the hour so you can explore the salt marshes on your own. The perfect time for kayaking is just before and just after high tide. The tide timer in the condo is fairly accurate. Check it, and add about an hour to get an estimate for the tides for the next day.
Everyone loves the Salty Dog Restaurant right on the dock at South Beach in Sea Pines. It's a great place to stop after an active afternoon of sightseeing and biking. The Salty Dog is a very popular spot; the dinner crowd starts to line up around 5. The other popular destination in Sea Pines is Harbor Town where you'll find the light house as well as shops and other restaurants. Don't
overlook Historic Bluffton, on the May River if
you've had too much sun for one day. Historic Bluffton has lots of unique shops, galleries and several great restaurants. It is off the island but is a short drive towards I-95 on 278.Try The Cottage for a wonderful meal but make reservations.
Golfers will find many beautiful public golf courses nearby. Fiddler's Cove has 10 Har Tru tennis courts, available by reservation and 2 indoor racquetball courts. You can borrow racguetball equipment at the Security Gate. Other outdoor activities you can enjoy are surf fishing right at Folly Field beach, or try deep sea fishing on a chartered boat at Sea Pines. You can have rental bikes delivered right to the villa ( there are bike racks at the entrance to the building), and you can walk for miles on the wonderful sandy beach that is almost at your doorstep. The villa has a fully equiped kitchen; all the plates, utensils, cutlery and pots and pans were purchased specifically for the condo and I replace things when I notice wear and tear or when I am notified that anything is looking a little 'tired'. However, the island also has many excellent restaurants within an easy drive. So, eat in or eat out. The choice is yours.
A new attraction this year on the island is a Zipline adventure, off Marshland Rd., about mid-island. I haven't tried it yet but it looks fun. You'll pass it on the way to the Broadcreek Marina. I recommend taking a wonderful 2 hour cruise on the 'Island Queen' or 'Pelican' and see dolphins and sea birds up close. These boats depart from the Broadcreek Marina, on Marshland Road several times a day and provide a more intimate perspective on the sea creatures. They're also less expensive than some other dolphin watch trips. Even in the summer, take a sweater if you plan to take a sunset cruise. Once the sun goes down, the evening sea breeze can be chilly. As you may have gathered, you can be as busy or as chill as you like while you are on Hilton Head.
One final comment; the sand dollars you'll likely see at low tide are alive if they are brown. Please leave them on the beach or gently toss them back into deeper water. While sand dollars are not yet endangered, the are becoming scarcer. White sand dollars are dead ones and are fine for adding to your shell collection. I hope you love the island as much as I do!

Why the Owner Chose Fiddler's Cove: I have loved lakes and oceans all my life and when I found this condo that was just a short walk to the beach and a convenient driving distance from my home, I felt as if I'd hit the jackpot. I had looked at properties up and down the Georgia coast from Tybee Island to Jekyell Island, the Outer Banks of North Carolina, the Atlantic and Gulf sides of Florida as well as the Florida panhandle, but when my neighbors rented me their Folly Field Rd. condo on Hilton Head, I knew I had found the right piece of paradise for me. The Folly Field area on Hilton Head is a residential community, although there are several very nice hotels within walking distance on the beach, the beach in between these properties is rarely crowded.
