Casa Beya, which simply means "Beach House" in Spanish & Garifuna, is a vibrant, colorful partially thatched private retreat that has a unique, open-air, multi-level outdoor living space design!
The house is located in Maya Beach, which is six miles from the Placencia Airport and 8 miles from the village. The best part is it is a 100 yard walk to The Maya Beach Hotel, which serves the best food on the Peninsula.
Outside: Enjoy your coffee on one of the upper decks, let the gentle breezes lull you sleep in one of the many hammocks, eat all of your meals at the outside table, have cocktails in the "outside living room", relax under the new palapa on the beach or swim off the dock in the warm, Caribbean surf.
Inside: Is an absolute work of Art!!; with it's hand-carved stairs, unique arches, bright colors, and many special touches throughout ** plus Wifi! ***

About the owner: We are family of 3 (Midge, Aaron & Bodi, age 8) from land-locked Carbondale Colorado.
Why the Owner Chose Maya Beach:
We initially came to Belize in 2005 for a 7 day epic mountain bike race, which started and ended at the Placencia Hotel. We fell in love with the culture, the people and the vibe on the Peninsula. On one particular bumpy bike ride down the rode from the village we came upon some newly constructed condo which were offering "pre-construction" prices. We nibbled at the bait and were caught hook, line & sinker! However, we just knew we were not condo folks....so when we saw Casa Beya on the market, we never looked back. It has been a dream come true to be able design and run this house as a rental. We have had many return guests and even several memorable weddings on the property!!
Then 2 years later, the house next door went on the market and we tried our best to get either friends or family to buy it, but when that did not work out, we scrounged together enough to put in a very low offer. Mike, our wonderful caretaker took on the task to remaodel the house, which took 4 months. The Seagrape Escape (VRBO listing #158794) is now open for rental---it's open floorplan & huge screened porch is ideal for larger groups and families. The 2 houses are connected by a narrow bridge through the trees that sit between the properties.

These 2 houses are playfully decorated and designed for relaxation, romance, family-fun, and entertaining. There are a variety of seating options depending on your mood: in the sun or the shade? on the beach or the dock? in a hammock or swing bed? on the porch or the observation dock?
Mike, our wonderful caretaker lives on site & if you read our reviews on Trip Advisor, you will see that he adds a lot to our guest's experience! nothing but praise!
