"Sunset Center" is an adjacent pair of family vacation houses. The "Ice House" is a new six bedroom, three and a half bathrooms vacation home featuring a private gated 24 foot heated swimming pool, six person hot tub, shared playscape, and wooded ravine lot. The house was just completely renovated, completed on June 24, 2006.
The property is an easy four block walk down the sidewalk to South Beach (Lake Michigan), Kid's Corner, and downtown South Haven shopping and dining. All comforts of home are provided, including new washer and dryer, linens, new appliances (including refrigerator with ice and water dispenser, range, dishwasher, and microwave), kitchen utensils, free long distance telephone, free wireless internet connection, computer, 7 TVs (3 with extended digital cable and 4 with basic cable), several DVD/VCR players, several CD players, just to name a few. The house is perfect for families with children of all ages. The pool and hot tub are gated for your protection. The back yard is completely fenced.
Family-friendly items included are books for all ages, toys, puzzles, movies for all ages, well-loved bikes, riding toys, high chair, full size crib with rocking chair, two baby gates, excer saucer, strollers, sipped cups, baby monitor, booster seats, and pool toys.
Enjoy the flexibility and convenience of having six private bedrooms, conveniently located throughout the house! Five bedrooms are upstairs. One is a master suite with private bathroom. Another full bathroom is in the upstairs hall. One bedroom is downstairs, also with a private bathroom. The house has a large 28 x 14 foot carpeted living room that includes two cable televisions (35 inch and 25 inch), each with DVD/VCR players. The hardwood floored 14 x 14 dining room comfortably fits an 8 foot dining table. The kitchen and adjacent powder room have ceramic tiled floors. The kitchen has sliding glass doors that open to the backyard deck and pool/spa area.
All six bedrooms are carpeted. 4 bedrooms have ceiling fans. The house has seven ceiling fans in all. All 4 bathrooms have ceramic tiled floors. The master bedroom has a faux balcony overlooking the backyard pool area. One bedroom has a trayed ceiling.
The house was completely renovated in 2006. Renovations included new vinyl siding, new roof, all new windows, new wiring, 18 x 18 foot two story addition, all new carpet, all new appliances, new swimming pool, new hot tub, new sod, new deck, all new paint, new furniture, and new white vinyl fencing.

Why the Owner Chose South Haven
We vacationed in South Haven for the first time in August of 2004. At that time, we had a family of 4, with a newborn and 1 year old. The town was so beautiful and kid-friendly that we knew we wanted to come back over and over. Since we are originally from Illinois and now live in the middle of Michigan, the South Haven location is a perfect meeting place for our family gatherings. We fell in love so quickly with the town that we purchased a 3 bedroom house in South Haven in November of 2004. We labored all winter to completely renovate the house into a 6 bedroom vacation home specifically designed for family reunions. We finished just in time for the summer of 2005 summer renters and the rest is history, with 100+ family reunions enjoyed at our homes! We enjoyed sharing our family reunion home so well that we purchased the house next door and repeated the same winter renovation process to have our 2nd home ready for the 2006 summer renters. Now we have created a unique setup, with 2 adjacent family reunion homes with 12 bedrooms between the two homes.

You will find our location to be among the most convenient in all of South Haven. We have the room for a large family, with 12 bedrooms total between our 2 six bedroom houses next door to each other. Enjoy family while still having some privacy! Our amenities on site on our property is 2nd to none. Heated swimming pools, hot tubs, playground, toys, games, WIFI, just to name a few. Kid's Corner park and South Beach are right down the South Haven street sidewalk. Downtown shopping and dining is right down the Center Street sidewalk. One of our favorite activities while in South Haven is heading down the sidewalk in our strollers, wagons, or on foot to the Kid's Corner park overlooking Lake Michigan, walk down the beach to grab an ice cream cone, head down the riverwalk from the pier and lighthouse into town, window shop at the downtown shops, and head back home down Center Street.

15 (8 adults, 7 kids) of us stayed at the house over Memorial Weekend 2007. We had a wonderful weekend. There was lots for everyone to do: pool, hot tub, swingset and sand box in the backyard, and the house was stocked with games and toys. This was the perfect place to stay with so many people! We didn't feel crowded and still had 2 extra bedrooms. The house was very clean and well stocked with needed items. South Haven was a nice, quaint community to visit. We enjoyed the beach, public playground, the shops, etc. We would definitely like to return for a visit in the future.

For our family reunion this year we stayed at the Ice House. Our family ranges from age 5 to 89. The kids loved having a pool and hot tub on site. It was great to be able to walk to the beach and into town. The Ice House was clean and each of the bedrooms was comfortably furnished. I highly recommend it.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

The house works great for large groups. We had 4 different families staying there and the bedroom set up was perfect with 2 of the rooms having a double bed, plus separate twin bunk beds. It's only a short 4- 5 block walk to a massive park and the beach.

The house was perfect for our needs. I and my two sons plus their girlfriends and my cousin from England and her two daughters along with their boyfriends spent a week there in June. We spent hours in the pool and hot tub, used both grills as we had some vegetarians amongst us, ate every meal on the deck and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The walk into town or to the beach is a very pleasant and easy one and with 10 adults we could all go together or not as we pleased. We took our bikes from Indiana so, with the ones in the garage, there were enough bikes for everybody who wanted to ride. Our outings included winery tours,brewery tour, boat rides, dune buggy rides, water sports and trips to the gym but horse riding was cancelled due a heavy thunderstorm. Also shopping in Saugatuck and Holland. I don't think it would have been possible to squeeze any more activities in. The bedrooms were beautiful and the house was immaculately clean. We would recommend the house and South Haven to anybody and everybody. A big thumbs up from everybody on both sides of the Atlantic.

The house worked out great for our family reunion with 8 adults and two kids. The house was stocked with bikes, strollers, toys and all the usuals which made the kids stay enjoyable and of course ours as well. Definitely would consider again for a future trip.

We love, love, love this house. This is the second year we stayed there over Labor Day weekend. It has something for everyone. My kids enjoy the bikes, the pool and the walk to the beach. Us "old" people enjoy walking around town, shopping, the hot tub and the beautiful sunsets (not to be missed). It's the perfect place for a family get together. Life is too short. Enjoy the family and plan a trip to S. Haven and this house. You won't regret it.

Our family stayed in the Ice house 8/16/08-8/23/08. It was fantastic! We had 11 adults and 7 children and there was something for everyone to do all the time. The house was very well equipped and well stocked. We had everything we needed and then some. We were really appreciative of the bikes/strollers/wagon in the garage and all of the toys in the house. The beach chairs were great! We put the clean pool and hot tub to great use. Everything was just perfect. Jim was wonderful to work with. We would DEFINITELY stay here again!

16 gueats (10 adulta and 6 children) We rented the house for our semi-annual family reunion. The house was spacious, clean and well equipped. The adults enjoy sitting and visiting, but the children want activity. The pool, hot tub, games, and toys kept them busy for hours. The adults also enjoyed the pool and hot tub. A 4 block walk to the beach to watch the sunset was another highlight. We had a great time.

8 Adults, 3 Toddlers and 2 infants stayed over Memorial Day weekend 2008. We had a wonderful time. Sleeping arrangements/bedrooms work really well for a group of our size. We enjoyed the hot tub, pool, Charcoal Grill and Gas grill, swing/slide in backyard. It's a perfect place for families with children - plenty of toys and strollers (love that double). We walked everywhere - downtown for shops and restaurants (about a 5-10 minute walk)and only a few blocks to a huge playground and the water. We really enjoyed staying at the house - it was big, clean and comfortable and felt like a home away from home.

My family stayed at this rental this summer(2006)and had a wonderful time. The house was clean and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, appliances, pots and pans, etc. There were 14 of us staying together and we had plenty of room to spread out. The pool and hot tub were great. The beach was also nice and the kids LOVED the playground. South Haven has many great shops and restaurants. We have rented many vacation homes over the years and believe this rental to be one of the best!!
