Directions to the cabin from Salt Lake City Airport:

Fastest Route - through Salt Lake valley and Orem/Provo (about 60 minutes from SLC airport)

Take I-15 South from SLC. airport. Drive Approx 40 miles. Take the Orem, 8th North exit and drive East toward the mountains. After Approx. 4 miles you will arrive at the Provo Canyon entrance. Drive Approx. 8 miles and proceed through a tunnel in the mountainside. Make the first left turn (about 1/4 mile after exiting the tunnel) and drive Approx. 2 miles up this side canyon and turn left onto Stewart Road (just after you've passed Sundance Resort). Take a quick right onto Timphaven Road. Drive Approx. 1/2 mile. Pass by Meadows Drive. The cabin is located about 1/10th mile ahead on the right side of the road. It's set back in the trees and is only visible from the road during winter months. The street address (#8928) is posted on a massive rock that sits just above a stone retaining wall. A large Dream Catcher hangs from a tree above the sign. Turn in and park. The cabin is to the right.

Take I-80 East toward Cheyenne, Wyoming. Drive approximately 20 miles through Parleys’ Canyon and up into the Park City area. Take I-40 East toward Heber. (Note: Take highway #224 instead of I-40 East if you plan to stop in Park City along your way.) Stay on I-40 East for approximately 20 miles and drive through downtown Heber. When you get to the far end of town, turn right (at a large intersection) onto highway #189 toward Provo and drive about 12 miles. Stay in the right lane when 189 widens into additional lanes and turn right into the first side canyon (usually there's a "Sundance" sign marking the canyon.) This side canyon is just before 189 turns into a tunnel cutting through the mountainside. *from this point, refer to the 1st set of driving directions to get to the cabin.

Why the Owner Chose Sundance

It began with A perfect "bluebird" ski day. WE bought our cabin with the idea that we might rent it out 2 or three times per year to fund our own vacations. As it turned out..., the cabin was such a perfect vacation rental that it began to rent much more than we'd planned, and the rental income was a very good thing (to put it mildly), as we'd just begun new careers. For a long time now, we've been investing our rental income back into our cabin, creating one unique project after another. I call it my expensive hobby, but really, it's a wonderfully artistic outlet for me.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

Hummm, where do I begin? I am in love with Sundance! I treasure he stunning beauty of the mountains and wildlife. I like the skiing, hiking, snow shoeing, horseback riding, fly fishing, rafting, birding, the fun concerts & theater under the stars, full moon lift rides, and oh, did I already mention SKIING?!! I love the peace and seclusion, but I love the social village atmosphere, and the killer restaurants & Owl Bar. And the Sundance Film Festival, awesome!!!

Owner's Map of Sundance

Trieste is a native Utahan, born in Salt Lake City. She was wisked off to California by her family of course, when she was five years old, where she grew up with the beach boys, mini skirts, Disneyland, and the ocean.

Trieste moved back to Utah with her family when she was sixteen and immediately took to the outdoors. She fell in love with the mountains and wasted no time learning to ski. Years later, Trieste's work took her to the East where she spent 12 years on the coast of North Carolina and in Washington D.C. Though she loved her experience on the East coast, Trieste ultimately returned to Utah where her love for the unique land was re-kindled. During the ski season, Trieste can be found on the beautiful ski slopes of Sundance nearly every day (even if only for an hour or so.) It's wonderful to be able to call Sundance "Home"!

Ultimate Rental in Sundance

This cabin is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever stayed. The views are phenomonal and the cabin is in pristine condition when you arrive. The owner is lovely and a joy to do business with. She is extremely knowledgeable about the area and gave us some great recommendations. However, I must warn you, once you walk in to this cabin, you won't want to leave. It is cozy and the HUGE upstairs bathtub w/ the views of Mt. Timpanogos will put you into total relaxation. Oh, and don't miss the resident squirrel - Lucille and the Stellar's Jays - they provide hours of entertainment!

Amazing attention to detail

My family of 5 love the Sundance area and we visit often; having rented a number of different private homes as well as the Sundance resort condos. This home is our new favorite! The lot is large and feels private; the location ideal and simply lovely. There is ample parking on a private circular drive, which is tastefully well lit, as is the entire exterior of the property, creating a beautiful ambiance at night. Extremely well maintained inside and out. The home was immaculate and so much artistic detail was put into each room. You really do feel like you are in someone's much cared for home and not a rental property. The master bedroom is on the main level with two separate bedrooms upstairs; allowing privacy for everyone when wanted. The beds were so comfortable, with luxury bedding and each bedroom had its own flat screen TV with satellite. All furniture, appliances and appointments of this home are high-end. The large decks of this home (5!) are beautifully appointed and allow a wonderfully private and quiet place to enjoy the breathtaking views! My kids loved the fire-pit, hot tub and grounds that they roamed each day discovering all kinds of wildlife; turkeys, birds, deer and of course, Lucille (the resident squirrel). Trieste and Traci were wonderful to work with and very informative about the area and what was going on in Sundance during our stay. Some of the things we did in Sundance: We loved the Sundance summer theater production of "The Sound of Music" - the setting was perfect and an awesome experience for our kids to traverse up the mountain by lantern at the end of the play! The Foundry Grill was exceptional as always; well worth the $$. We hiked Stewart Falls by way of taking the chair-lift up and crossing over to the Falls and then back down to Sundance. A great hike with our kids-took us about 2 1/2 hours. Drove the Alpine Loop and saw a Moose! We hope to return again to this magical home in the trees!

Beautiful cozy cabin

What a wonderful luxury cabin to spend a week! The views from the decks are beautiful, the hot tub and fireplace kept us warm and cozy and Trieste is a wonderfully helpful host. Our family (including 4 legged ones) had a great time playing in the snow and enjoying the wildlife visitors. The listing and photos are accurate but in fact don't fully convey the cozy ambiance of the cabin. Everything was meticulously clean and well maintained. Note: you must have 4WD/AWD or tire chains to safely get up to (and down from) the cabin in winter.
