Fastest Route - through Salt Lake valley and Orem/Provo (about 60 minutes from SLC airport)

Take I-15 South from SLC. airport. Drive Approx 40 miles. Take the Orem, 8th North exit and drive East toward the mountains. After Approx. 4 miles you will arrive at the Provo Canyon entrance. Drive Approx. 8 miles and proceed through a tunnel in the mountainside. Make the first left turn (about 1/4 mile after exiting the tunnel) and drive Approx. 2 miles up this side canyon and turn left onto Stewart Road (just after you've passed Sundance Resort). Take a quick right onto Timphaven Road. Drive Approx. 1/2 mile. Pass by Meadows Drive. The cabin is located about 1/10th mile ahead on the right side of the road. It's set back in the trees and is only visible from the road during winter months. The street address (#8928) is posted on a massive rock that sits just above a stone retaining wall. A large Dream Catcher hangs from a tree above the sign. Turn in and park. The cabin is to the right.

Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2006

Trieste is a native Utahan, born in Salt Lake City. She was wisked off to California by her family of course, when she was five years old, where she grew up with the beach boys, mini skirts, Disneyland, and the ocean.

Trieste moved back to Utah with her family when she was sixteen and immediately took to the outdoors. She fell in love with the mountains and wasted no time learning to ski. Years later, Trieste's work took her to the East where she spent 12 years on the coast of North Carolina and in Washington D.C. Though she loved her experience on the East coast, Trieste eventually returned to Utah, where her love for the unique land was re-ignited. Though she considers the red rock country of Southern Utah as a second home, Trieste squeezes most of her winter fun from the beautiful ski slopes of Sundance.

(Taken from greatrental guest review of this property) Had a really beautiful stay amidst stunning surroundings, only sorry we didn't stay longer at Sundance and less at Park City. The standard of the cabin was excellent, spotless with lots of little extras, really great stay, would love to return.

(Taken from greatrental guest review of this property)We had great expectations and we were quite surprised that it exceeded our expectations. Trieste is wonderful and stays on top of her clients needs. My wife and family enjoyed feeding the squirrels, humming birds (100's) and all kinds of wild birds. We saw raccoons, wild turkeys on the property as well. We had a 7 day stay of fresh mountain air including caving, hiking to Stwart Falls but nothing prepared us for how much we enjoyed the cabin! It totally lived up to the 5 star rating. Total class inside and out. My wife and I were constantly commenting about the quality of the decor. First rate. Every night I sat on the bueatiful decks and looked up at Temp and wondered why I moved away... Sundance was a treat and Redfords dream is still alive. My family will never forget this vacations! So much to do we are going to have to return. Again first rate and well worth the expense of great memories.

(From greatrentals guest review of this property) My family of four stayed at Sundance over Christmas. It was very relaxing and well equipped with everything we needed. The views from the home are amazing and it was a great location with the Sundance resort a quick drive. Trieste was great at helping us before and during our vacation with any questions we had. I would highly recommend it!

(from greatrentals guest review of this property) Best Sundance Cabin Ever! We absolutely loved this cabin! It is immaculate and beautiful. Forget Aspen or Vail- This Sundance cabin is what you dream of! There was plenty of room for our family of 4, with two bedrooms and a large, cushy pull-out sofa in the loft upstairs. The kitchen is well-equipped,too. After a long day of skiing, a bubble bath in the huge soaking tub upstairs hit the spot. We enjoyed movies and games provided by the owner plus snacks from a cute welcome basket~ She truly thinks of everything so your vacation feels very special. Our favorite restaurant was the Foundry Grill at Sundance (they have breakfast, lunch and dinner) We also stopped by the General Store at Sundance to pick up cold drinks, sandwiches, and cookies. I'd give the cabin 10 stars! We'll return again for sure.

(From greatrentals guest review of this property) This home is a true find. It's beautiful! Very reasonable rates. The view of Mt. Timpanogos is spectacular! Our family visit was so much fun! We skiied, played in the snow and explored. We took a short train excursion on a Snow Tube n' Train from Heber. My 11 year-old son loved it! The Tube 'n Train Adventure departs from the Heber Valley Railroad Station and goes to Soldier Hollow Station and returns to Heber Valley Railroad Station. Great winter fun for the whole family! Sundance offers a mountain range of culture all year long. Sundance is my favorite place to visit. It's peaceful. It's artsy. It's good for the soul. I can't say enough about the beauty and grandeur of this home and the area. And, the owner of this property is lovely and such a pleasure to work with. I would not stay anywhere else! And, Sundance Resort is practically right next door. Visitors staying in this lovely home are welcome to enjoy the many amenities the resort has to offer, the white powder, soaking in a luxurious hot tub, treating yourself to a massage or facial. We also enjoyed the wonderful and tasteful goodies in the gift shop. Check it out. The food is delicious at Sundance, although we cooked many of our own meals. We felt very warm and cozy. After a full day of adventure and playing in the snow, we didn't want to leave the comforts of home. You won't want to leave. Lots of hidden surprises!

(Taken from greatrentals guest review of this property) Rather than writing about this as a cabin, it would be more accurate to write about it as an EXPERIENCE, since its merits cannot be reduced to the simple term of a living space or cabin. It is an accumulation of a splendid location and exterior and a class A interior. Outside, it is surrounded by a wonderful mountainous area with panoramic views, awestriking nature and a wonderful diversity of wildlife. Because of its location, your adventure will vary depending on the season, and having stayed there during both winter and summer, we can encourage you to try both (and probably all four). The cabin itself supports the scenery perfectly in its spaciousness, design and comfort. It is distinguished by its wodden interior, high ceilings and huge windows, and as you enter, you feel the stress of the everyday world withering away. With its unique interior design of furniture and artifacts, it is clear that the owners have put their heart and soul into creating a comfortable but interesting place. There is an abundance of room, a well-furnished kitchen, and TV and books if one prefers to take a quiet day by the fireplace. We have definitely not visited the place for the last time, and I hope that as many other people as possible will get the chance to have the experience that we have had during our visits.

(Comment taken from guestbook at the cabin.) This cabin is really awesome. Not at all like any vacation rental we've ever stayed at. Beautiful and very unique furnishings (not rental furniture.) The owners have a very artistic touch. Everywhere you look, you spot something amazing. The property is perfectly kept and spotless. Beautiful, rustic wood floors in every room, huge picture windows and beautiful views. There's this an incredible soaking tub in the loft area and you can bathe while looking out a big window overlooking Mt. Timponogas. The decks are wonderful and the wildlife is a delight. We saw a group of 15 wild turkeys on the property, a flying squirrel, baby raccoons, deer, and many, many birds at the birdfeeder on the main deck. Wonderful experience!!!

(comment entered from greatrentals website review of this cabin) My wife and I and another couple spent 3 nights in this wonderful place in Oct. of 2008. The house was decorated far better than any rental property we have ever seen, and we travel extensively. The attention to detail was over the top. The setting could not have been better. I was able to photo up close and personal deer, jays, squires, wild turkey, and other birds. It was also extremely clean and comfortable. I just can't say enough about it.

(from greatrentals guest comments for this property) Tucked up on the mountain just a 10-12 minute stroll down to Sundance Resort, yet easily reachable by auto except for snow season(Chains recommended), this cottage has nice views and plenty of space for two. We went in mid September, enjoyed fall colors and leisurely strolls around the neighborhood. Plenty of good golf options at Watasch State Park 20-25 minutes away. Making use of the first class food at the Resort for bfreakfast and dinner made it an easy relaxing visit, although the cottage has good modern kitchen facilities. And working with owner Trieste was a delight in every way. Special note: comparable space at the Resort would have close to doubled the price and resulted in far less privacy!
