Amazing attention to detail

Date of Stay: 07/31/11 Review Submitted: 08/11/11

My family of 5 love the Sundance area and we visit often; having rented a number of different private homes as well as the Sundance resort condos. This home is our new favorite! The lot is large and feels private; the location ideal and simply lovely. There is ample parking on a private circular drive, which is tastefully well lit, as is the entire exterior of the property, creating a beautiful ambiance at night. Extremely well maintained inside and out. The home was immaculate and so much artistic detail was put into each room. You really do feel like you are in someone's much cared for home and not a rental property. The master bedroom is on the main level with two separate bedrooms upstairs; allowing privacy for everyone when wanted. The beds were so comfortable, with luxury bedding and each bedroom had its own flat screen TV with satellite. All furniture, appliances and appointments of this home are high-end. The large decks of this home (5!) are beautifully appointed and allow a wonderfully private and quiet place to enjoy the breathtaking views! My kids loved the fire-pit, hot tub and grounds that they roamed each day discovering all kinds of wildlife; turkeys, birds, deer and of course, Lucille (the resident squirrel). Trieste and Traci were wonderful to work with and very informative about the area and what was going on in Sundance during our stay. Some of the things we did in Sundance: We loved the Sundance summer theater production of "The Sound of Music" - the setting was perfect and an awesome experience for our kids to traverse up the mountain by lantern at the end of the play! The Foundry Grill was exceptional as always; well worth the $$. We hiked Stewart Falls by way of taking the chair-lift up and crossing over to the Falls and then back down to Sundance. A great hike with our kids-took us about 2 1/2 hours. Drove the Alpine Loop and saw a Moose! We hope to return again to this magical home in the trees!

Beautiful cozy cabin

Guest: Mel (Mountain View)
Date of Stay: 12/26/10 Review Submitted: 01/03/11

What a wonderful luxury cabin to spend a week! The views from the decks are beautiful, the hot tub and fireplace kept us warm and cozy and Trieste is a wonderfully helpful host. Our family (including 4 legged ones) had a great time playing in the snow and enjoying the wildlife visitors. The listing and photos are accurate but in fact don't fully convey the cozy ambiance of the cabin. Everything was meticulously clean and well maintained. Note: you must have 4WD/AWD or tire chains to safely get up to (and down from) the cabin in winter.

5 Star Cabin Sounded Like An Oxymoron, But It Was Fabulous

Guest: Cheesehead In Dubai (Houston, TX)
Date of Stay: 03/14/10 Review Submitted: 03/23/10

This cabin was wonderful for our family of 5. The listing description and photos don't do justice to how nice the cabin really is. Every room is unique and has decorator touches. It is spotlessly clean and maintained. There were lots of extras that we weren't expecting, like a welcome basket, spa robes and slippers for the hot tub, snow shoes and sleds, plastic wine glasses for hot tub safety (as well as glass ones for the table), etc. Watching wildlife was a favorite early morning activity and relaxing in the hot tub after skiing was a favorite evening pastime. We went skiing and snowboarding at Sundance Resort. The lift tickets, rentals and lessons were much less expensive than at nearby Alta or Brighton. We would recommend this cabin to our friends and relatives.

(Taken from greatrentals website guest review of this property)We have gone two times to the cabin in the fall to celebrate family birthdays and have loved it both times. The setting in the woods with its view of the mountains is stunning. The cabin is beautifully decorated and very well and thoughtfully equipped. We loved the fact that we can use the kitchen and grill when we wish, or take a quick walk down to the Lodge for sandwiches or a restaurant meal. Because the cabin is so well equipped and close to the resort (but still out in the woods) we had the flexibility to make each day whatever we felt like. Sitting in the new hot tub admiring the fall colors and the views of the mountains was also splendid. The kids are already planning the next trip---thank so much for another wonderful stay.

(Taken from greatrental guest review of this property)We had great expectations and we were quite surprised that it exceeded our expectations. Trieste is wonderful and stays on top of her clients needs. My wife and family enjoyed feeding the squirrels, humming birds (100's) and all kinds of wild birds. We saw raccoons, wild turkeys on the property as well. We had a 7 day stay of fresh mountain air including caving, hiking to Stwart Falls but nothing prepared us for how much we enjoyed the cabin! It totally lived up to the 5 star rating. Total class inside and out. My wife and I were constantly commenting about the quality of the decor. First rate. Every night I sat on the bueatiful decks and looked up at Temp and wondered why I moved away... Sundance was a treat and Redfords dream is still alive. My family will never forget this vacations! So much to do we are going to have to return. Again first rate and well worth the expense of great memories.

(Taken from greatrental guest review of this property) We stayed at the cabin in June of 2007, before the renovations, and again at the end of July 2009. The first time, the only thing lacking was a second full bath upstairs (which wasn't a big deal anyway). To our delight, the renovations not only improved the cabin's appearance and functionality on the outside, but added an amazing, beautiful full bath upstairs. Everything is done with the highest care and with great taste. Between the luxurious cabin and the surrounding nature and visiting wildlife, the word heard most was "heaven." Everything was perfectly clean and cared for. For anyone there for a short stay in the summer, don't forget to take the Sundance ski-lift up for the view and a short hike. We are dog-lovers, but for the sake of the wonderful wild animals (and the opportunity to see them all), we suggest not bringing Fido; or plan to keep him inside and/or on a leash. If you're a night owl, watch for the wild turkeys gathering in the very early morning hours. And bring some extra unsalted, bird- and animal-safe peanuts for the squirrels and jays!

(Taken from greatrental guest review of this property) LOVED IT, LOVED IT! My fiance and I chose this cabin for a last-minute getaway with our dog, Mr. Bear, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The cabin was romantic and wonderfully decorated... what appeal! Plus, the fact that our dog was allowed to stay there made it extra special. We hung out on each of the five decks and took in the scenery while relaxing and enjoying each other's company. This is definitely our new favortite "get-away spot" and we can't wait to get back. Thanks Tirest for making us feel so welcome! Hugs, Adria, Brett and Mr. Bear P.S. We forgot to mention how much we enjoyed meeting Lucille (the friendly squirell) and her friend, Mr. Raccoon. They were great entertainment!

(Taken from greatrentals website guest review of this property)The ultimate escape! What a treat!! We arrived late in the day and spent our first evening exploring the cabin. Trieste has an incredible eye for detail and what a joy savoring all the small touches in every room. In the morning, we were met with beautiful rays of sunshine streaming through the windows. We then realized that no matter which seat you chose in the cabin, you had a gorgeous view looking out at the incredibly beautiful surroundings. Trieste was welcoming and helpful - even to the point of delivering wine on our first night! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, skiing in 70 degree weather the first day and finishing with a snowstorm three days later. We found all the locals to be wonderfully warm people. And we were completely entertained by the resident squirrel, blue jays and turkeys. I soaked in the tub every night of our stay and will never forget looking out at the mountains with snow falling and feeling completely relaxed. It was our first time skiing in Utah and we will definitely return! This property was pristine - very clean and luxurious and well-managed. Great job, Trieste!

Added from Greatrentals reviews Amazing, relaxing and beautiful surroundings. I've always wanted to visit Sundance. The owner did a beautiful job in decorating this amazing and relaxing cabin. It was everything I expected and more. My family and I stayed in April 2009 after the ski season. Our first day was a delightful warm day, we took advantage of the weather to venture out in the area. Beautiful! We also had some snow and it was very exciting and wonderful!! (we hardly get snow). We really enjoyed our vacation, the beautiful surroundings, and the view of Mt. Timpanogos. The bluejays, turkeys, racoon and squirrel were great visitors. We visited the Planetarium and the Heber Railroad station. The other activities we wanted to do were not yet open for the season, but I get a feeling we will be returning to this beautiful cabin. Our vacation was amazing, peaceful, relaxing and overall a wonderful place to stay. The owner is very friendly, courteous and very knowledgeable about the area. The cabin is well-maintained and superbly decorated and comfortable. I wholeheartly recommend this cabin at any time of the year. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your amazing, relaxing and beautiful cabin!

It's obvious that Trieste takes plenty of time to make it perfect for when the guests arrive- and their entire stay! She takes every detail into account as she prepares to make your stay as special as possible! She is wonderful to work with! In the winter the cabin is decorated with magical lights and in the summer you'll want to be outside as much as inside!

*Comments taken from guestbook located at cabin. We love this cabin for its charm - it is just the right size, with decks and mountain views everywhere. It is tastefully decorated - mainly rustic, with some Asian touches and beautiful artwork. The wildlife is friendly, the owner is too. There is always a gift basket and friendly note - this time she also left my girls mint chocolate chip ice cream we did not have time to try. A highlight is the tub with a view of Mt. Timpanogos. Skiing, art shack and award-winning dining are a short drive down the mountain. We don't tend to stay in places more than once but we've stayed twice and probably will come back again!

(Taken from guestbook comments located at cabin.) We absolutely loved this cabin! It is immaculate and beautiful. Forget Aspen or Vail- This Sundance cabin is what you dream of! There was plenty of room for our family of 4, with two bedrooms and a large, cushy pull-out sofa in the loft upstairs. The kitchen is well-equipped,too. After a long day of skiing, a bubble bath in the huge soaking tub upstairs hit the spot. We enjoyed movies and games provided by the owner plus snacks from a cute welcome basket~ She truly thinks of everything so your vacation feels very special. Our favorite restaurant was the Foundry Grill at Sundance (they have breakfast, lunch and dinner) We also stopped by the General Store at Sundance to pick up cold drinks, sandwiches, and cookies. I'd give the cabin 10 stars! We'll return again for sure.

(From greatrentals guest review of this property) This home is a true find. It's beautiful! Very reasonable rates. The view of Mt. Timpanogos is spectacular! Our family visit was so much fun! We skiied, played in the snow and explored. We took a short train excursion on a Snow Tube n' Train from Heber. My 11 year-old son loved it! The Tube 'n Train Adventure departs from the Heber Valley Railroad Station and goes to Soldier Hollow Station and returns to Heber Valley Railroad Station. Great winter fun for the whole family! Sundance offers a mountain range of culture all year long. Sundance is my favorite place to visit. It's peaceful. It's artsy. It's good for the soul. I can't say enough about the beauty and grandeur of this home and the area. And, the owner of this property is lovely and such a pleasure to work with. I would not stay anywhere else! And, Sundance Resort is practically right next door. Visitors staying in this lovely home are welcome to enjoy the many amenities the resort has to offer, the white powder, soaking in a luxurious hot tub, treating yourself to a massage or facial. We also enjoyed the wonderful and tasteful goodies in the gift shop. Check it out. The food is delicious at Sundance, although we cooked many of our own meals. We felt very warm and cozy. After a full day of adventure and playing in the snow, we didn't want to leave the comforts of home. You won't want to leave. Lots of hidden surprises!

(Taken from greatrentals guest review of this property) Rather than writing about this as a cabin, it would be more accurate to write about it as an EXPERIENCE, since its merits cannot be reduced to the simple term of a living space or cabin. It is an accumulation of a splendid location and exterior and a class A interior. Outside, it is surrounded by a wonderful mountainous area with panoramic views, awestriking nature and a wonderful diversity of wildlife. Because of its location, your adventure will vary depending on the season, and having stayed there during both winter and summer, we can encourage you to try both (and probably all four). The cabin itself supports the scenery perfectly in its spaciousness, design and comfort. It is distinguished by its wodden interior, high ceilings and huge windows, and as you enter, you feel the stress of the everyday world withering away. With its unique interior design of furniture and artifacts, it is clear that the owners have put their heart and soul into creating a comfortable but interesting place. There is an abundance of room, a well-furnished kitchen, and TV and books if one prefers to take a quiet day by the fireplace. We have definitely not visited the place for the last time, and I hope that as many other people as possible will get the chance to have the experience that we have had during our visits.

This cabin is beautiful! My 6 year old daughter never wanted to leave!

(Comment was taken from guestbook located at cabin.) This cabin is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever stayed. The views are phenomenal and the cabin is in pristine condition when you arrive. The owner is lovely and a joy to do business with. She is extremely knowledgeable about the area and gave us some great recommendations. However, I must warn you, once you walk in to this cabin, you won't want to leave. It is cozy and the HUGE upstairs bathtub w/ the views of Mt. Timpanogos will put you into total relaxation. Oh, and don't miss the resident squirrel - Lucille and the Stellar's Jays - they provide hours of entertainment!

My family of four stayed at Sundance over Christmas. It was very relaxing and well equipped with everything we needed. The views from the home are amazing and it was a great location with the Sundance resort a quick drive away. Trieste was great at helping us before and during our vacation with any questions we had. I would highly recommend it!

Finest Place Ever

My wife and I and another couple spent 3 nights in this wonderful place in Oct. of 2008. The house was decorated far better than any rental property we have ever seen, and we travel extensively. The attention to detail was over the top. The setting could not have been better. I was able to photo up close and personal deer, jays, squires, wild turkey, and other birds. It was also extremely clean and comfortable. I just can't say enough about it.

(Comment taken from guestbook at the cabin.) This cabin is really awesome. Not at all like any vacation rental we've ever stayed at. Beautiful and very unique furnishings (not rental furniture.) The owners have a very artistic touch. Everywhere you look, you spot something amazing. The property is perfectly kept and spotless. Beautiful, rustic wood floors in every room, huge picture windows and beautiful views. There's this an incredible soaking tub in the loft area and you can bathe while looking out a big window overlooking Mt. Timponogas. The decks are wonderful and the wildlife is a delight. We saw a group of 15 wild turkeys on the property, a flying squirrel, baby raccoons, deer, and many, many birds at the birdfeeder on the main deck. Wonderful experience!!!

Comment from guest book at cabin) Dear Trieste, Our stay in your beautiful mountain cabin will be remembered by Lorne and I forever. Your attention to every little detail & marvelous flair for decorating made our honeymoon and Valentine's day very, very special. This place is truly nature at it's best! Lucille (squirrel) is a joy, the Steller's Jays visited us every morning, singing happily, with rewards of peanuts which they devoured! On our 2nd day we were surprised by the gobble gobble of many turkeys, and we were pleased when the curious raccoons stopped by the windows for a welcomed visit. The views from the tub at sunset were spectacular! Unforgettable, that is what our stay has been. We are both very sad to be leaving but hope to return yearly. Oh, almost forgot, the skiing "FANTASTIC." Love & Many thanks! Janice & Lorne

(comment from cabin guestbook) We loved it here and we love Sundance! I am so happy my husband chose this piece of heaven to be together at and ski. Our son watched Lucille the squirrel eat the stuffing out of the snowman decoration on the deck table. She took pieces of stuffing away to the trees. We took the snowman away, but when we put it back, she came for more! Funny little squirrel. Thank you for the Christmas tree and the fresh garland. We look forward to coming back. Merry Christmas. Dan, Teresa and Joshua

HOME AWAY FROM HOME

This home is a true find.
