Contemporary Beach House with Vaulted Ceilings and Lots of Sunshine

The house is contemporary styling with a great room with plenty of light and 25 foot vaulted ceilings. Two large California redwood chairs wait for the king and queen to entertain or read a good book. Attached to the great room is a large eat-in kitchen with brand new A/C. The master bedroom has it's own bathroom with shower and there is another bathroom with tub for the guests. Each bedroom has new ceiling fans. Large brand new deck and outside shower. There is a new barbecue and patio set. New washing machine, dishwasher and refrigerator. Located on Cayuga St, centered between Flynn's Restaurant and the Fire Beach House Hotel and the Hurricane Bar and Grill. The ferry is a 10 minute walk to the house. To the east of the house is the private community of Point of Woods and Sunken Forest State Park and to the west is Seaview and Ocean Beach, a town unlike no other. You can take a leisurely walk to any of them down the beach or on the walkways or jump in a water taxi to get anywhere you wish to go.

The Point of Woods baseball field lies directly behind the house and is only used by the summer camp for the children There are no houses behind this one which provides more privacy. There are bicycles there, Men's, Women's and Child bike. The house also has beach chairs, satellite T.V. with large screen Flat Screen on a Pivot mount and wireless internet..

As Expected
The home was convenient to access and laid out in a way that worked well for our group of 6 adults and a few children. There is a small deck space, and no yard space but a good amount of living room space. Being 5 houses from the pantry and down the block from the hotel and beach was perfect for us.

Ok experience.
My friends and I spent little time in the house. The location is nice and so is the back deck, but the house had outdated features.

About the host

I grew up in West Islip across the bay from Fire Island. We moved there from Brooklyn when I was 8. I am a lifelong Long Island resident and spent most of my working career in Manhattan. I now operate my own business in the office technology arena serving Manhattan to Montauk.

Why they chose this property

Growing up in West Islip, many people I knew (including myself) went to Fire Island by personal boat. It was right in our back door across the bay. Anytime you wanted a break or wanted to have fun, this was the place to be. I lost my boat in the Noreaster of 1996 and Pat Meade, selling real estate, showed us this house and is was love at first site. I bought the house the same day I saw it

What makes this property unique

Open and ariy with vaulted ceilings, modern contemporary styling and sheetrocked walls this hoouse was very well built. It is located between Flynn's restaurant, the Market, and the Fire Island Hotel and minutes to the beach or bay.
