03/02/2011 - Well...the Bear just made a return visit to this home and "Bon Bini" still lives up to expectations! "Bon Bini" means "welcome" and this home again welcomed my buddies and me for a great stay in one of Destin area’s great beachfront neighborhoods "Destiny by the Sea". This prestigious gated community has only a ‘beary’ small number of homes, each fancier than a bear is accustomed to, and Bon Bini among the nicest of the bunch. All the streets are brick, and the private beach has enough room for hundreds of bears! The beach is made up of pure-white, clean, ‘beary’ soft sand, and the water is crystal-clear emerald green, as the Destin area is famous for, making it one of the premier beach areas in Florida.

Bon Bini was very comforting and packed with lots of amenities. From the moment we unloaded suitcases, I was thinking about how we would get them up 3 flights of stairs in this 3 story masterpiece, but right inside the front door was an elevator! Considering all three floors have their own master bedroom, we were sure able to spread out as if we each had our own den. As you may have noticed, I like to sit on the deck wherever I go, and Bon Bini had enough decks to go around a dozen vacation homes! Each deck was open and inviting, each lined with glass doors, providing a nice open ambiance. Every deck had wonderful views of the ocean, Florida palms, or this truly unique and quiet neighborhood.

Even though bears usually live off the land, this bear was dining on seafood every night, and Bon Bini is just seconds away from many of Destin’s great seafood restaurants. Destin is, after all, the world’s luckiest fishing village, so you can enjoy all the fresh, local seafood you want and don’t need a bear’s fishing skills.

Bon Bini is truly an amazing vacation home, full of fine furnishings, conveniences you can only imagine, unbelievable room and comfort, and a golf cart for leisurely cruises around the neighborhood. If you want a solid first-class vacation or hibernation experience in the family-friendly Destin area, you can't go wrong by staying at Bon Bini!

Nice Vail Colorado Ski Condo!!!

02/25/2011 - What an amazing place to come out of hibernation!!! As you may know I’m not your typical bear because I find it hard to stay in my rock cave when there are such lavish comfortable places to stay and play in my native mountains. Vail is one of my favorite ski hills in all of Colorado and this cozy condo fits Bears and cubs just right. If skiing is your activity, the free Vail busses will pick you up just a block away, which is only a 10 min ride to Vail Village. I found this extremely convenient since the condo home base to me and my traveling companions.

Since the streams were frozen and hard to scoop fish out of, we were happy to find a shopping center 5 min down the road. The shopping center provided everything including a grocery store, liquor store, sports store with rental gear and restaurants. If you forgot something at your den or needed anything, you could find it there.

The main floor of the condo is great for family or group together time. The kitchen, dining and lounge area are wide open and will keep everyone together. There is a great deck with lots of privacy just off of this great room. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you’d need to whip up a meal before or after your day of mountain adventuring. When its time to clean up and retire for the evening we were surprised no one had to fight for a shower. Each bedroom has its own adjoined full bathroom.

This mountain escape is perfect for families, a few couples, or a few bear buddies looking to get away and enjoy the pristine mountain air. I’ve already recommended this place to all of my friends in the National Forest and will recommend it to you as well. Enjoy!!

Relaxing in this super Vail Village condo w/ views of slopes and walk to lifts!

02/11/2011 - A weekend adventure of snowy fun and rejuvenation was awaiting – just what this bear needed!

This cozy condo at the ‘Scorpio’ was just what I anticipated and more. The view of the Vail Ski Resort is inviting from the large living room picture windows. Just a hop, skip and a jump and you are on the slopes! Remodeled with impressive upgrades and elegant décor, leisure time by the fire was most enjoyable. I especially loved the kitchen, and bear in mind, a home cooked meal is a great way to spend a snowy evening in. The open floor plan includes a breakfast bar, perfect for conversing with the cook.

Each bedroom displays amazing views as well. They are both tastefully decorated, have comfortable beds and one of them even has an electric fireplace to warm frosty paws! Beautiful intricate marbled bathrooms – one with a steam shower and the other, a Jacuzzi bath.

On a short stroll from the condo, I found my paws on the heated cobblestone streets of Vail Village. Its unique charm creates an ambiance of European culture. Friends and I enjoyed a snowy evening walk with glittering trees lit along our path, where we enjoyed open fire pits and ice sculptures – what a great way to spend a Saturday night!

This lovely condo in Vail Village can be enjoyed year-round. There are hiking and biking trails, golf and river rafting activities during the warmer months. On your next visit to Vail, I highly recommend a stay in this lovely condo, any time of the year – I know you will love it as much as I did!

Loved our stay in this Rio de Janeiro 6 bedroom villa wpool--center of Copacana!

02/03/2011 - This Rio De Janeiro Villa is a miniature mansion located on a quiet dead end street in a great location. It's just three blocks from Copacabana Beach and only a block or so from the nearest subway station.

I could bearly contain my surprise upon entering the villa to see the enclosed covered atrium with its plethora of flowering, hanging plants and beautiful stained glass windows. I've never seen so many indoor plants in a home before! The floors are beautiful stone and or wood and many of the walls are made from wood as well. The furnishings and decorations are an eclectic collection of old and new, with many interesting and unique antique items. The kitchen and baths feature quality fixtures and equipment. While the rooms are not large, the beds are very comfortable, and the villa is in top quality condition. In the summer, you'll be pleased to know that the air conditioning works fabulously and there is even a small pool located on the top floor.

Perhaps the most endearing feature of the villa is the fabulous staff who took such great care of us. Upon our arrival, our luggage was carried upstairs to our room for us. Michaeljon spoke excellent English and was very helpful with directions and tips for things to see and do including arranging rides to/from the airport if needed. Denise cooked a fantastic breakfast for us each morning, at no additional cost, and will even cook lunch or dinner as well (there is a cost for this service). They made up the rooms for us each day, and even did laundry for us... Wow!

Awesome stay at this Breckenridge Log Home with Mountain Views!

02/03/2011 - Think of this house as your home away from home! The views are amazing, the house is fully equipped and you are close to skiing! What more could you want?

This weekend was an added bonus as I got to see the incredible Breckenridge Snow Sculptures. It was one of my favorite times of year to be in Breckenridge. There is always so much to do, like Oktoberfest, Art Fairs, and lots of races. You can see the ski slopes from the house and it is just minutes from the gondola that will take you up to the slopes. Not to mention the Ski Shuttle that is just steps from the driveway making it that much easier to head to the slopes for the day. There are so many amazing shops, restaurants, and hiking/biking trails that there is something for everyone all year long!

But if you are like us, and enjoy relaxing inside by the fire in a cozy mountain house then you’ll love this place! This house was not lacking in anything. The kitchen was fully stocked and included high-end appliances; each bathroom was supplied with plenty of towels and complimentary soaps; and the bunk bed room and pool table downstairs make for the perfect hangout. I especially liked the sunroom with an additional table and chairs and a large flat screen TV for those late night card games! Perfect for the guys! Each bedroom has beautiful log beds and a flat screen TV. The large logs on the ceiling and walls along with the beautiful mountain décor make this house even cozier. If relaxing is your style then you’ll love the large hot tub right outside to soak in after a long day of playing. The large dining room, beautiful hard wood floors, outside deck with amazing views, and large master bathroom are just a few of the things that make this house so great.

Come for a weekend or stay for a month. Either way you will have exactly what you need for a wonderful stay in Breckenridge!

Great Santa Fe Adobe Home with hot tub and fireplaces!

02/01/2011 - My companions and I rode in the BearMobile all the way from Texas to New Mexico but despite our weariness we were completely delighted to arrive in the beautiful historic neighborhood of Eastside Santa Fe. The low profile adobe houses on small winding roads possess all the charm of old New Mexico (the house is over 100 years old). After entering a cozy courtyard we found the door to Casa Encanto. We were greeting by a plush setting, decorated in tasteful southwest décor. It was a little bit chilly but the 3 kiva fireplaces assured us we’d soon be warming our paws by a crackling fire. The gracious owners, Marta and Mark supplied us with enough firewood for our entire visit.

I couldn’t ‘bear’ another minute in my traveling clothes so I hopped in the large jetted tub in the master bathroom. It was well stocked with everything to get my fur looking fresh, and plenty of fluffy clean towels. When I was ready for the full tour of Casa Encanto, even more surprises were in store. There was a hot tub outside our window and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud! My traveling buddies reported that their beds were equally as heavenly. We also found our own private courtyard and a gorgeous kitchen covered in pretty colored tiles. There was a fireplace there too, and plenty of supplies for cooking a meal including some green chilies from the Santa Fe Farmers Market, which is a must see!

After we soaked in the luxury at Marta and Mark’s exceptional property it was time to explore Santa Fe! Thankfully they made it completely effortless by giving us a great list of sights and restaurants. But as if that wasn’t enough they equipped the house with an iPad – BEARY generous. We ate so much great food and experienced lots of New Mexican culture. And to top it all off Marta even stopped by with some homemade delicious gelato and made us feel right at home.

We simply could not have had a better trip, thanks to Marta and Mark and the enchanting Casa Encanto – the ultimate home base for a trip to Santa Fe.

Skiing minutes away from this great lake and mtn view condo in Summit County

01/06/2011 - My family and I were fortunate enough to spend the holiday season skiing in Summit County, Colorado. What’s more, we were lucky enough to stay at this beautiful condo overlooking Lake Dillon, just minutes away from Key Stone, Breckenridge and Copper Mountain ski resorts. In the description, the owner mentioned it was just remodeled. She thought of every little detail to give you all the conveniences of home but added luxurious comfort of a vacation: a nightlight in the second bathroom if you bring kids, steamer in the master shower to warm up tired and sore muscles, and artwork that give the condo personality and warmth you’d never find in a hotel! I was very impressed by the thought and effort the owner put into this condo, providing an enjoyable stay.

The new modern kitchen with cabinet lighting and granite countertops is fully stocked with plenty of spices, cooking oils, condiments, and any kitchen tool you’d ever need for cooking here. Make yourself a great cup of coffee with the coffee maker while you enjoy the fabulous view of Lake Dillon.

The living room furniture was extremely comfortable, perfect for ending the day relaxing with a movie or TV show in front of the fireplace. Record your own program using the DVR! Internet strength was great if you bring a computer.

The beds were very comfortable. We all slept well on the memory foam. There are plenty of extra pillows and blankets if you need more.

My personal favorite was the master bathroom. The shower is large and as mentioned, has its own steamer!

Everything was very clean when we arrived. And the owner was very helpful and responsive during our stay, offering us any help we needed. I hope to return again and would recommend this Lake Dillon condo to any traveler.

Great Ski-In/Ski-out Copper Mountain Colorado 2-bedroom condo with fireplace!

01/06/2011 - After a snowy ride through the mountains, my traveling companions and I were pleasantly surprised to arrive at this warm, comfortable ski in/ski out condo. We immediately felt at home.

Large windows give you a great view of the Copper Mountain resort. We felt spoiled so close to the mountain. I was really excited!

The family room is fabulously luxurious. Be forewarned, even the most dedicated early morning skiers might want to hang around in the morning. The rustic looking dining table with log-cabin style chairs and cushions make it a perfect spot to linger over coffee or hot chocolate and even catch up on email if you like! What’s more, the instant fire place, HD LCD TV, comfortable couch and chairs make it an inviting spot to return to after a full ski day.

The two bedrooms and two bathrooms are quite spacious. The bedrooms have enough room to fit all your ski gear and move around freely. No one is cramped in here! You can also use the pull out couch in the living room for extra guests. Both bathrooms are also fairly large.

With parking under the condo, you can drive in to the garage and not have to get out in the cold. That’s a little luxury you don’t expect. Get warm and stay warm! The laundry is just down the hall making it convenient to wash or just dry off your wet winter clothes.

This is a fabulous condo for ski season, and definitely convenient to Copper for spring season too! I’d love to stay here for much longer and return again!

Delightful Downtown Austin Condo - Beautifully furnished and walk to everything!

12/18/2010 - I just got back from Austin, where I love to visit. I had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful condo so close to everything downtown. The weather is usually nice, so you’ll be happy to do without the rental car and walk to all the best places to eat and shop.

The home is spacious for a one bedroom in downtown and so much better than a hotel! The kitchen included spices, cooking utensils, pots and pans – with a lovely granite countertop just begging to be used. There’s also a kitchen patio with a barbeque grill and outdoor seating. One of the special things about this unit is its views of the city. You can go out on the upstairs balcony and see up and down 6th street as well as views of the city skyline. At night, the city lights are fabulous.

Even though its location is on a popular street, I was surprised at how little noise I noticed at night. I slept like Goldie Locks in a bed that was ‘just right.’ But best of all was the big onyx shower with rain shower head. Now that was luxury! You’ll love the big master suite.

Thank you to Trey and Brandy for being wonderful hosts – offering tips, supplying restaurant and activity guides, they are really focused on making your stay delightful. I’m already looking forward to my next trip to Austin.

Florida Villa near Disneyworld - Great family vacation home!

12/01/2010 - From the airport to this breathtaking home, there is no shortage of special places to visit and explore -From Sea World to water and amusement parks, every member of the family will enjoy. Situated on the outskirts of Orlando, Legacy Park in Davenport, Florida is a peaceful and calm neighborhood. Beautiful archways welcomed us into the home and I couldn’t stop admiring the size and amount of space this property has to offer. The 6 bedroom and 5 bath home is absolutely stunning! Decorated with modern furniture and appliances, the living room and kitchen are great for gathering and entertaining. The games in the garage are great for the kids and adults alike and even with a cool breeze; the star gazing from the pool and spa was a highlight of my stay.

International Drive is one of the “hot spots” in Orlando. Located only 20 miles away, there are many things for the whole family to experience. I went simulated skydiving at Skyventures, which I highly recommend. From there my companions and I went to Crystal River, also known as “The gem of the nature coast” where we experienced a once in a lifetime trip on King’s Bay to swim with an endangered species; the Manatee. While in Orlando, we cheered on the Orlando Magic at the new Amway Center. We wrapped up the trip with a visit to Magic Kingdom and Epcot Theme Park at Disney World, which you shouldn’t miss. You’ll never run out of things to do during any season in this wonderful location!

Whether you’ve visited Orlando before or never been, after you visit, you’ll want to keep coming back, there’s just so much to do and see. Bring the whole family, stay in this spacious home and you won’t be disappointed.

Ballpark and Coronado views from this great downtown San Diego condo!

11/29/2010 - From the moment I arrived and walked through the door of this downtown condominium, I could see the wow factor in the phenomenal views of historic downtown San Diego. The views were so expansive; they encompassed not only the beautiful downtown San Diego skyline, including the Historic Gas Lamp Quarter but also the fabulous panoramic view of the San Diego harbor and marina.

This modern condominium complex with its stunning architecture is just moments away from the historic Gas Lamp Quarter and all of the shops, galleries and restaurants that one would need. It is also only a short walk to the home of the San Diego Padres stadium -Petco Park, a perfect location when taking in a ball game.

This unit is completely equipped with everything necessary for a trip into the city. The modern kitchen with its high end finishes and appliances were perfect for preparing meals. The master bedroom boasts floor to ceiling views with a king size bed along with a luxurious master bath with all very warm finishes.

This brand new complex has all the amenities that one could possibly need. There is a fantastic swimming pool and Jacuzzi, along with several patio areas that are equipped with stainless steel barbeques and ample seating for great outdoor entertaining. There is even a large private lawn area to enjoy that is central to all of the outdoor facilities.

Great stay at this Waterfront Austin Home on Lake Travis!

11/23/2010 - The home is incredibly gorgeous, with a large, open floor plan and well-considered details from marble counter tops and stainless steel appliances to gorgeous fixtures and lighting. Two large patios spanning the back of the house made the perfect place to unwind with a glass of wine in the cool evening air.

As the inner-most property on a short cove, the house has the best of both worlds – a sweeping view of the water as well as a near-private swimming area where the cove ends into a fabulous grotto, isolated from the main lake traffic. November weather is a bit chilly for swimming, but you could imagine floating in the grotto in warmer months, perfect for the young cubs. A rare find on Lake Travis, there was a large flat lawn perfect for running and tossing a ball or Frisbee but also safely surrounded by a beautiful iron fence to keep kids and pets from getting too close to the water.

Sleeping arrangements were easy. Each bedroom has its own bathroom so even 3 couples with kids are able to manage showers. An array of quality, inflatable mattresses and blankets makes tucking the kids away a no-brainer.

In my group, kids and adults were entertained all weekend. Our choices suited all ages ranging from: Wii games and ping pong in a true “man cave,” wide selection of DVDs and satellite TV in the media room, foosball, board games and a closet full of toys and dolls for the little ones!

Last but not least, one of our absolute favorite features was the surround sound in every room of the house. You could turn the music on or off in each room. The kids could nap or watch TV while the adults listened to music.

I highly recommend this house for families, reunions, and other groups looking to relax and reconnect.

Panoramic Views of Ocean - Incredible Oceanfront House in Seaside, OR

11/23/2010 - This oceanfront beach house was the perfect retreat for a beary special birthday weekend. Felt like home from our first step through the door. The panoramic views of the ocean were breathtaking – quite picturesque!

The home was fully equipped with everything we could have needed from linens to pots & pans. There was also an outside shower for rinsing off sand from excursions to the beach. With two double car garages, there was ample parking available for our party as well.

You may have heard great grandpa bear tell the story about ‘Goldie Locks and the Three Bears’ and how he liked his bed firm and hard. Well, I must admit this next generation appreciates true comfort. All of the beds at this beach house in Seaside were like sleeping on a cloud – once you layed down, your entire body was supported in complete relaxation. I couldn’t help but close my eyes and say, “This is just right.”

This incredible vacation rental has something for everyone:
• stroll through the dunes to the beach
• make a fire on the sand before sunset to roast marshmallows and sing songs
• relax in a comfy chair reading a good book with the view of the ocean at a glance
• bake a cake in the fully equipped kitchen
• watch a movie and lounge on the couch
• stroll the Seaside Promenade and take in the sites
• visit local art galleries, restaurants, and specialty shops, or
• take a short 7 mile drive to Cannon Beach to shop and take pictures of the incredible Haystack Rock

Enjoying the beauty of theColorado Rockies inthis Buena Vista Mountain Property

11/12/2010 - Welcome to the Pines at Chalk Cliffs! This modest house provides a simple, cozy and relaxing getaway for any group. Whether you are on a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a hunting trip this is the house for you!

It didn’t take us long to figure out once arriving that this house provided all of our needs. It was like the owner had previously thought about everything we might need to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We enjoyed swinging on the front porch while admiring the spectacular views of the Chalk Cliffs, exploring the ponderosa pine forest right out our back door, fishing at Wright’s Lake (which was within walking distance to the house), and just relaxing in the house enjoying each other’s company.

The bear cubs were especially happy about the many games and toys to play with that were provided for their use. Meal time was a breeze as the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we could have possibly needed. The décor around the house was both welcoming and inviting and had a cozy mountain cabin feel, which we loved.

If you are looking for things to do there is plenty in the area. The Mt Princeton Hot Springs is just 1.8 miles away and Monarch Ski Resort is 45 minutes away just to name a few. The house is conveniently located between Salida and Buena Vista.

So come to the Pines at Chalk Cliffs and leave feeling rejuvenated just like I did!

Loved my stay in this Gulf Coast, TX Port Aransas house close to beach!

11/10/2010 - This week I traveled with a young family to Port Aransas. I enjoyed a long weekend in this home close to the beach but with an updated and modern feel. The couches in the living room are so comfortable! We found them perfect for relaxing with our morning coffee, evening drinks, and just an afternoon rest with our favorite books. But don’t sit down, or you won’t want to get up!

Stainless steel appliances, great wine glasses, bar seats that face the kitchen, next to elegant table and chairs provide a great setting for good meals with friends and family. The kitchen looks out to a fabulous second story deck with a grill, table and chairs, and plenty of space for family and friends. Kids and dogs will be safe on the deck with a sturdy wrap around railing that’s approximately 4 feet high.

For a great night’s sleep, we found two very comfortable queen beds with lots of pillows and blankets and even LCDs with Dish Satellite TVs to watch movies in bed. The master suite has privacy and its own bathroom, slightly separated from the other two bedrooms but still close enough to hear a child milling about in the night. The kids fit comfortably in the third bedroom with two twin beds, right across from a bathroom.

Labeled “The Tree House”, the living, sleeping, and dining areas are on the second floor. On the ground level, we found a hammock for relaxing outside surrounded by a grassy fenced in area for kids or pets to run around. This vacation rental is fantastic. More friends visited for a day and kept commenting that it is absolutely gorgeous! They were surprised to see such a nicely decorated house that was perfect for entertaining but also kid-friendly so close to the beach and downtown.

We enjoyed dinner and great beer at the Port Aransas Brewery. Try their famous Burgers and sweet potato fries! There are plenty of activities to try as well: Free Tour at the UT Marine Science Center, dolphin tour at Woody’s Sports Center or tour the most famous aircraft carrier, the USS Lexington.

For a perfect relaxing getaway or family vacation, I highly recommend this Port Aransas vacation rental home!

DestinFL Condo at Baytowne Wharf. Nice!

11/08/2010 - This property is very nicely appointed and is perfect for anyone who enjoys the lap of luxury. I had a beary nice time staying in Le Jardin. The home is in the perfect location—in the heart of Baytowne Wharf, just steps outside the door are all the shops, restaurants daily entertainment. The Wharf has all sorts of entertainment going on all day long so you will never be at a loss for things to do here.

This home is a rare find with three master bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, which is perfect for three couples to share. The beds were delightful with luxuriously soft sheets. The double sided fireplace in the third floor master was a nice surprise; you can see it from the master bedroom and the master bathroom.

Overall, I found the home to be well-appointed and upscale but at the same time comfortable enough to kick back and cozy-up on the sofa.

Great Ski-In/Ski-out in Breckenridge, Colorado 4-bedroom house with fireplaces!

11/01/2010 - “Our Mountain Honey” is a very special home nestled in the pine trees in Breckenridge, Colorado. No detail has been overlooked, and the “Bear” décor made me feel right at home.

I could tell that a lot of effort went into making this home special and welcoming. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and spaces to come together. This home was perfect for all the different ages of our group. The movie selection was excellent!

The den with the pool table was a popular for some friendly competitions, while the den with the fireplace was used for reading, playing checkers and watching the snow fall. Relaxing in this home was easy as the comfortable furniture and beds were almost too inviting!

In the historic town of Breckenridge, we discovered unique shops and restaurants as well as the main-stream coffee shop we couldn’t live without. The Outlet Shops in nearby Silverthorne made for some great bargains to bring home.

This Bear could stay forever in a lovely home like this!

You'll love the landscaping at this amazing Wailea Luxuury 2bdrm suite in Maui!

10/26/2010 - Even the VRBO Bear family needs a beach vacation once in a while, and there is no better place than on the island of Maui!! And when visiting Maui, the Wailea Beach Villas and Unit Number 210 cannot be beat for location and amenities!

Located on the sunny south west side of the island in the Wailea resort area, the property alone coupled with the Wailea beach adjacent to the property would be enough to keep a happy family busy for a great vacation. The condo was incredibly spacious and very well furnished, with two bedrooms plus a den providing ample space and sleeping room for us and the cubs. The kitchen was immaculate, with top-of-the-line appliances, including double ovens and two refrigerators to keep all of our honey and salmon fresh during our stay. In addition to the indoor kitchen, the outdoor lanai includes a Viking gas grill and table setting for those evening cookouts and dinner while overlooking the impressive family pool area and the Pacific Ocean.

Of course while in Hawaii, a family doesn’t want to spend too much time indoors, and that’s where the immaculate grounds of the Wailea Beach Villas come into play. Everything is so tropical and very well manicured, including many types of flowers, several streams and waterfalls along the resort sidewalks. Even the TWO pools each have a waterfall in them! I have to admit, the first couple of days I ate a little too much honey while relaxing by the pool, but fortunately was able to work off that added weight in the fitness center located right by the ground floor pool.

The WBV beach staff was very helpful as well, setting up complimentary chairs and umbrellas on the best spots on Wailea beach if we wanted; they were happy to help get us situated for a day of playing on the beach.

Mrs. Bear of course needed to get some shopping done, but that was easy since The Shops at Wailea was located right across the street, an easy walk from Unit 210. Several restaurant options are located at the shops as well for those nights when we felt like eating out.

All in all, Unit 210 at the Wailea Beach Villas was a wonderful condo and a tremendous place to spend a Hawaiian vacation!

Rocky Mountain Views from this great Estes Park 2 bedroom Condo!

10/26/2010 - The drive up to Estes Park is one of the best drives in Colorado…and this drive was no different. Walking up the steps to the condo, we could look over our shoulders and see the amazing mountain views and clear blue skies. The view from the deck is magnificent and a perfect place to spend the morning, drinking coffee! The 2 bedrooms were comfortable and were nicely decorated. The bathrooms were fully stocked with plenty of towels. Every amenity was covered, from matches to coffee to plenty of dishware. If I needed something, I could find it! There are menus and tourist recommendations so you can make a choice as to what you want to do. In case you want to check your email, the Wi-fi is really fast and works great! The condo is clean, quiet, comfortable and very accessible.

Making my way through town and up the road to the house, I knew that this condo was perfectly located. The historic Stanley Hotel is less than a 2-minute drive away. The condo is close to Safeway and the Estes Park visitor center. Rocky Mountain National Park is about a 5-minute drive to the entrance, where there are many hiking trails to choose from! The trail I hiked was only 20 minutes from the condo. Drink plenty of water, get rest and enjoy your time here. I will be back!

Living it up in this great Master Suite w/fireplace in Stowe Village Vermont!

10/22/2010 - My first word when I walked in the door was “Wow!” This is an awesome townhome—truly elegant and at the same time comfortable, warm and inviting. With a family room downstairs and the kitchen, dining, and living areas in an open floor plan on the second floor, it is perfect for large groups. The ambiance and décor also give it a nice, cozy feel for a couple or small family. I’ve heard people say “It doesn’t get any better than this!” And now I know what that can mean. I enjoyed hanging out in the family room on the first floor where the games and pool table are. Humans like the Jacuzzi in the master bath after a brisk walk in the cool fall air. The beds are comfortable. The furniture is comfortable. It’s just a great place!

Stowe is a wonderful town with charming shops and an excellent assortment of restaurants to choose from for those meal times when you don’t want to cook. Our last day there was rainy, but my traveling companions decided that we should take a drive up the mountain anyway to see the ski resorts, which are just a short distance from the townhome. The trip was well worth our time—I love the woods, and the streams and rocks and fall color were extraordinary even in the rain! There is no way to be bored in this area—so much to see and do…. Your time there will pass too quickly!
I loved everything about this home and the area and wish I could go back to enjoy every season.

Great stay at this Eleuthera, Bahamas, Caribbean vacation home!

10/21/2010 - From the airport pick-up to the must-read house manual (though it’s really more of a manual for the entire island), no detail has gone unnoticed in this Bahamian abode. And you know what that means— more time to explore, relax and have fun! Now, I’m an adventurous bear, but traveling to a place off the beaten path like Eleuthera is absolutely exhilarating no matter how often you travel.

I arrived on the island on a cloudy day but stepping inside this house immediately lifted my spirits. The decoration and colors were the most cheerful of any beach house I’ve ever been in. As I was taking it all in, I realized that the cubs were missing. Where did they go?! I could hear their voices but they were nowhere to be found… Of course, I should have known— they were immediately distracted by the immense DVD selection and Wii system downstairs. They had already settled into making themselves right at home by the time I made it downstairs.

The next day we awoke to perfect weather and a chance to explore all the island had to offer. We drove to Harbour Island, rented golf carts, and saw the famous pink sands. After a snack and a brief paws on some lawn chairs we found, we took in the sights at the Glass Window Bridge. The rest of the days in Eleuthera were spent fishing, snorkeling and meeting the locals.

After returning home, we realized there was one thing we especially missed about Savannah Sunset—the Nature’s Sleep mattresses. Not too hard, not too soft, but just right. Just like our trip to Eleuthera! Thanks to Don, Trish, Peter and the rest of the gang for an incredibly memorable vacation.

Canyon Lake waterfront property in the Hill Country of Austin Texas!

10/20/2010 - Have you ever been to Canyon Lake? It is a 45 minute drive from Austin and you should really make plans to enjoy the beauty and everything it has to offer for a vacation full of family bear fun.

Situated on the pristine waters of Canyon Lake is a magnificent and unforgettable house: ‘Serenity Cove.’ It is a breathtaking bi-level 3 bedroom and 2.5 bath with panoramic views of the lake from every room. There are over a thousand square feet of balconies with plenty of seating to view the lake and to entertain family and friends.

There are so many activities for the whole family to enjoy, including boating, fishing and tubing the nearby rivers. There are two boat ramps close by to launch your boat or jet ski. The water is a stone's throw from the house, and there is a well maintained walking bridge that takes you down to Canyon Lake for a day of fun. The nights are absolutely beautiful with wonderful sunsets and bright stars to enjoy while sitting in the large Jacuzzi.

The home is located in a secluded area only minutes away from area attractions such as the "horseshoe" on the Guadalupe River, Whitewater Amphitheater, historic Gruene TX, New Braunfels TX, Schlitterbahn, and the Guadalupe and Comal Rivers that are famous for their many festivals and fun family activities.

Each room is well appointed with quite comfortable furnishings throughout. The full gourmet kitchen is large enough for several cooks in the kitchen! You can either enjoy your meal out on the deck or at the beautiful dining room table with enough seating for six. The living room coffee table is full of board games for the whole Bear family to enjoy and play. The large master bedroom is located on the main floor and has a luxurious bathroom with a huge shower. Downstairs on the lowest level are the guest bedrooms that also have TVs, DVD players and video games to keep the cubs occupied. There are plenty of pillows and blankets for the two pull out couches located in the lower living room and bunk guest bedroom.

VRBO stayed 1/2 block from Grand Canal in this great penthouse apt. in Venice

10/14/2010 - If you want to live like a true Venetian, this top floor apartment is for you. Just make sure you don't mind walking up 3 flights of stairs as there is no elevator in this original 17th century building (Hey, but that's part of the experience!) Since I had human friends with me, we really appreciated that there are two separate sleeping areas (one bedroom and one loft) and two separate baths. Everyone said that the mattresses were very comfortable (I slept on the sofa bed, which can be used for extra sleeping space as needed). The baths both contained newer top of the line fixtures, and the kitchen area even includes a dishwasher and washing machine (bet they didn't have those in the 17th Century!). The High Speed WIFI Internet worked like a breeze and it was great to be able to email photos to my bear friends back home (boy were they jealous!)

We REALLY appreciated all the help that Judit the property manager gave us. She gave complete instructions so the water taxi could drop us off close to the property. She met us and walked with us to show us how to get to the property and how everything works. She was fantastic!

Being able to explore Venice from this property was super; the location was very centrally located. The building is about 1/2 a block from Venice's Grand Canal and in about 3 minutes, you can be shopping for fresh fish and vegetables at the Rialto Market. A couple minutes more and you are at the Rialto Bridge. In ten more minutes, you are at San Marco Square - and all along the way, there are the most fabulous shops to explore. There are so many interesting places you can walk to in Venice. Next to the gelato, walking was my favorite pastime! When you plan your trip to Venice, I recommend that you take a serious look at this property.

Enjoying the great views of Bass Lake from this vacation home in Yosemite area

10/14/2010 - “Brrr!” was my first thought when I walked in. The owner came to our rescue! She was so helpful; she stopped by and showed us how to turn on the electric fireplace and heater. The house warmed up quickly and soon felt like home. I slept like a bear cub in hibernation! The next morning I found games and puzzles and ample room for entertaining.

The view of Bass Lake from the deck was spectacular! There’s nothing like early mornings on Bass Lake! The view of the lake when the sun peeks over the mountains and begins to shine through the trees and causes a morning mist to move across the lake is a sight to behold! It is like a slice of heaven!

Some friends raved about the hamburgers at the Forks Resort Restaurants. They lived up to their reputation – the hamburgers were awesome! While I didn’t take time to visit the Yosemite Valley, I thoroughly enjoyed browsing around Bass Lake and Oakhurst. The neighbors are so friendly!

I had breakfast at Pete’s Place in Oakhurst before heading home. I highly recommend a trip to Bass Lake for a beautiful fall vacation or plan to getaway just about any time of year to enjoy this vacation rental.

Enjoying the great vacation rental in Beacon Hill area of Boston, Massachusetts

10/13/2010 - This week I lived among the locals in Boston’s revered Beacon Hill neighborhood. This gorgeous 3 bedroom apartment is located seconds from the corner of Charles and Beacon Streets. This very comfortable home had everything I needed. Three levels up, I marveled at the absence of street noise while enjoying the local flavor. The roof top deck is an ideal spot to enjoy a morning coffee, local pastries and take in the view. The home is artfully decorated. The beds are quite comfortable and the bathroom lovely and spacious with a fabulous shower. The modern kitchen had everything we needed.

My companions needed no car at all. Everything is truly within a few minutes walk. I strolled down streets and soaked up the culture. I chatted with locals, had croissants at a local bakery, shopped "The Hill" and grabbed some groceries at Savenor's Market - a Julia Child favorite. There is a wonderful day spa a few steps from the apartment, Boston Common is a block away, and a variety of great dining choices abound!

This apartment is also very close to any type of public transportation we needed to go out and tour all the many parts of this fantastic historical city. If you do bring a car, a public parking garage is just a block away under Boston Common. Take a tour of the city, walk the neighborhoods, visit the museums, and experience the fabulous history of America's birthplace! Boston is a city for all seasons and this Beacon Hill apartment is a wonderful home away from home.

Great vacation property,close to all there is to see in Cape Cod, Massachusetts!

10/13/2010 - Cape Cod Bliss! This cottage was my home base for an exciting Cape Cod adventure. Situated in the quaint town of West Harwich, this lovely home is so centrally located on the Cape that I could literally explore the entire cape in both directions. I felt right at home with exceptional comfort.

This cottage has everything I had hoped for, including two truly fantastic patios to enjoy the outdoor experience. The large side patio on the side of the home looks into the spacious yard, with a family size table and chairs, umbrella and lots of space for a large gathering. There was also great yard to play in and explore. The Front patio is a fully screen-enclosed room and provides a perfect place to enjoy morning coffee, sit down for a good read or just enjoy a glass of wine at day’s end.

Each of the bedrooms is decorated in the traditional Cape Cod style, welcoming dreams of the seashore. The home is quiet, serene and peaceful. I found it well stocked with wonderful books, games, and puzzles as well as local information, including maps and personal recommendations. If you want to prepare your own meals, the kitchen has everything you need.

I was so close to the shore, restaurants and markets, there was no need for a car. There were also excellent trails nearby for walking and biking! The owners even offer a wide selection of bikes for guest use!

This lovely cottage is the perfect choice to spend an entire season on Cape Cod!

Enjoyed this new luxury home beachfront with pool in Nassau, Bahamas, Caribbean

10/12/2010 - After a long flight, I could 'bearly' believe my eyes when I arrived at this modern Nassau home. Not only was it fit for a king, it was also fit for the cubs. While this house is incredibly beautiful with attention paid to every detail, the pool, hot tub, and flat screen TVs mesmerized and entertained the little ones as soon as their paws were in the door. I knew this was going to be a great trip for everyone.

The next morning we awoke to see the perfect aqua waters of the Caribbean right outside our windows. We stepped out onto 3 different floors of beach-facing balconies with lounge furniture, perfect for serving meals during the mild Bahamian summer nights. What a perfect place for R&R!

Bear in mind, I traveled with an active group, so we didn’t want to lounge around in the den for our entire vacation. Luckily, this home has no shortage of activities. From the snorkeling right in our backyard to the close proximity to downtown Nassau, there were so many things to see and do. For quiet nights close to home, we enjoyed the pool table and movies.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Nassau and hope to return soon!

Great 3-bedroom townhome with mountain decor in Vail, Colorado!

10/12/2010 - You’ll love the brand-new EVERYTHING in this Vail townhome - this bear and VRBO friends sure did! When the owner renovated, they chose high-end, top quality kitchen appliances (we love the huge fridge!), wood flooring, countertops, tile, furniture, new flat screens TVs, etc. Even the cookware is top of the line.

We found this great Vail townhome to be warm and inviting, with the furnishings of mountain-casual décor. The master suite was resort quality, with premier bedding and an extra-comfortable mattress.

We awoke to the beautiful golden aspens out our window. The townhouse is ideally situated in a quiet area of East Vail, yet conveniently located to freeway (I-70) access. Just across the street is the Vail Racquet Club, where we enjoyed our morning latte at Wendy’s Alpine Coffee Shop. The free Vail transportation is just steps from the Mountain Meadow Townhomes and just a few-minutes ride to the ski lifts. In Vail you’ll find world-class restaurants, entertainment and plenty to do each season of the year.

10/12/2010 - Wow! This was the perfect house for a classy bear like me during my visit to Austin, Texas. From the top floor “yogi” room where I did my “yoga” bear exercises all the way down to the 1st floor, this amazing house was a wonderful place to stay. There was lots of space for my friends to visit together, but plenty of individual retreat space as well so we could have quiet time when we wanted it.

This home was located in a nice residential neighborhood, several blocks from the main road. There were large yards and lots of big trees, but we were still a very short drive from downtown and the airport, so it was easy to get around the fun city of Austin.

Our hostess was wonderful – she left DVDs, CDs and lots of books here for us to enjoy. She has decorated this house with many fun extras – and there’s a fireplace, a hot tub, BBQ grill, huge multi-level deck, and even a jungle gym for the “cubs” to play on in the enclosed back yard. We loved the special touches – towels near the hot tub, a welcome sheet that explained where to find things and how to lock up the house, stained glass, beautiful art pieces, and a hammock. We felt at home and very welcomed.

The kitchen was huge, with many modern conveniences. I loved the way it opened up into the great room (with fireplace) so that the folks cooking or eating in the kitchen could still be part of the conversation with the folks relaxing on the couch. The flat screen TV was in the “other” living room so that visiting and TV watching didn’t have to happen in the same room.

Lots of windows throughout on every side along with skylights made this house very cheery and bright. Everything was clean and shiny. All in all, this lovely home has left me with perfect memories of my recent trip to Austin.

Great mountain view log cabin in Basalt, Colorado close to Aspen!

09/27/2010 - What an amazing property, a true “getaway” gem! My bear family and I felt right at home in this true Real Mountain Log home. There’s a breathtaking view of Mount Sopris from the large living room windows. There is also a second story viewing deck which makes a perfect place to sip coffee and just take it all in. In fact there are 3 "under the tree" viewing patios to get lost in a book or just relax with friends and family. Groups of deer frequent this heavily treed lot, and several other creatures you’ll enjoy watching. With Aspen, Basalt, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs so close, you won’t have to worry about having plenty to do. The only problem will be trying to decide where to spend your time. We spent most our time lounging at the cabin, hiking in Carbondale and having a blast at the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool.

When you think mountain log home, you may think you’re working with the “bear” necessities, but that’s not true here. You’ll have wireless internet, cable/satellite TV, and a giant drop down projector with a Blu-Ray player. There is plenty to keep you physically entertained as well including a billiards/game room area, and ping pong table in the garage. And who can resist a top of the line 7 person (or bear) hot tub?

So, come to the mountains! Relax in the in the master bathroom jetted bathtub, or live it up by riding your mountain bikes to and from Aspen. Whatever kind of vacation you are looking for, this home will deliver. With 2 kitchens and 5 bedrooms you can comfortably sleep 10 and have plenty of room to spare!

Relaxing on the deck of this great vacation home in Huron, Ohio

09/27/2010 - I was trekking along the banks of Lake Erie in northern Ohio when I arrived at this charming home in Huron. I needed a relaxing place to stay while still being close to all the fun and excitement in the area – this place was it!

There’s plenty of room in this house for a bear and his family. Each room is thoughtfully decorated in warm, inviting colors. The bedrooms are comfortable and a perfect spot for relaxation while affording everyone in the group some peace and quiet. The cubs found plenty to do in the finished basement; toys, videos, coloring books, soft couches, space to play games. They had a great time having their own space away from the family.

I had a fantastic time whipping up bear-treats in the updated and beautiful kitchen while the family kicked back in the comfy living room. I think Mama Bear even snuck away, now and again, to take a nap in the cozy sunroom, though she insists she was just reading a book!

When we weren’t spending time enjoying the house, we found plenty to do thanks to the helpful area information that the homeowner provided. Turns out we could visit the beach, ride ferry boats, and even experience the world-famous coasters at Cedar Point amusement park, all a short drive from this great home.

Come visit this delightful home. You’ll be glad you did!

Relaxing by the spa in this great Orlando house close to Disney!

09/23/2010 - The Pelican Cove Villa was everything that its VRBO listing promised it would be. I loved the easy access to shopping, restaurants, and local attractions. I could sleep in late each morning and still manage to spend long days at the local parks. There was so much to do and restaurants to enjoy! With all the activity, I could eat all I wanted without storing up too much fat for the winter.

In the evenings, I relaxed with some of my stuffed friends who lived at Pelican Cove Villa. The pool was a nice private retreat to cool off my paws after long days at the local amusement parks. Your cubs will love the well-stocked toy box to entertain them while mom and dad whip up one of their favorite meals.

Everything about this home was designed to make a bear’s vacation stay magical… and it was.

Entry to this great 2-bedroom condo in Washington DC close to mall

09/21/2010 - I had so much fun staying at this apartment! Upon arrival we met our gracious host, who showed us the unit and several other features. The fresh flowers in the kitchen and in the entry way of the building were a very nice welcoming touch. Since a member of my party had a conference to attend in another area of town, our host had taken the time to pick up a bus brochure and gave us transportation options. He also suggested several restaurants within walking distance. What a wonderful host!

We loved the apartment in this historic building. One wall even had exposed brick. The large size and layout gave us privacy and quiet when we needed it, but a nice living room with a flat screen TV and iPod player for social time.

I can’t say enough about the kitchen. So many utensils and gadgets, even a gourmet chef could find what was needed. Our host left us several “extras” like tea, coffee, spices and other goodies.

All in all, this was a great place to stay for a classy bear like me. I can highly recommend it for folks that have business in our nation’s capital, or just want to enjoy a vacation and see the city.

Great stay in this 2-bed condo near Boston in Cambridge near Harvard & Trains!

09/21/2010 - Walking inside the condo you’ll find a comfortable contemporary style living room with a flat screen TV, recliner and couch. The bedrooms are equally comfortable with contemporary furnishings that are the perfect setting for your Boston vacation. The full size kitchen is spacious and open with dining room for 4. The owners were very pleasant and welcoming. If you have an emergency or need advice or directions to local areas, they are just upstairs and always eager to help!

Driving through the neighborhood of Inman Square I knew this was a special place! The many boutique shops, local coffee shops like 1369 and Italian pizza joints make up this eclectic area. At any given moment you can watch the energy and activity of the locals, running, riding their bikes, listening to iPods and drinking coffee. It’s a fun neighborhood with so much to do and see. Getting around was easy with only a 10 minute walk to the “T” that takes you right into Boston. Also, a quick 5 minute trip on the local bus takes you to Harvard Square and the Cambridge Mall. Once at Harvard Square you can tour the famed school, eat at a local restaurant and grab coffee at the corner shop. Thinking of going to Boston? Hop on the Red Line and in less than 15 minutes and you can be there! This condo is conveniently central to all the attractions in Cambridge and Boston.

If you want to stay and experience Boston like a local, this is the place!

Great spot to curl up and observe Colorado’s great outdoors!

09/17/2010 - No matter how much snow may accumulate outside, this warm, inviting home will be cozy inside. My first impression as I opened the magnificent, handcrafted entry door was the unmistakable richness of fine wood throughout. It was the foundation and heart of this home. Each piece of furniture and hand picked décor created a retreat to share with family and friends alike. From the stunning tile with wood inset floors to the lofty ceilings, this home was truly pleasing to the eye.

Large, granite counter tops in the kitchen provide the working space atop custom cabinetry in the open, gourmet kitchen. The sun drenched morning nook with window seat, gas fireplace and flat screen TV is the perfect place to sit down with a hot cup of coffee to start your day. An elegant dining table with high backed upholstered chairs is set between the kitchen and the great room. There is ample seating for a large group to enjoy their meals together. The double sided fireplace, which dominates the great room, is flanked by floor to ceiling windows which reflect the beautiful Colorado landscape. Also on the main floor is the master bedroom with large floor to ceiling windows, a fireplace, flat screen TV, a grand shower and private sauna room.

The upper floor has three uniquely decorated bedrooms, each with its own private bath and a flat screen TV. A den/study provides additional sleeping with a pull out sleeper sofa. The lower, walk out level of this home has a spacious entertainment room with a large flat screen TV, a sectional couch large enough for the whole family and two additional bedrooms & bathrooms. A bonus sauna room to use after a long day on the slopes can also be found downstairs as well as an outdoor hot tub.

While this home is nestled in the pines on a quiet cul-de-sac, downtown Frisco is just a stones throw away. Frisco, “The Main Street to the Rockies” provides a number of dining options, boutiques & shops. For those visiting during the warmer months there are several hiking/biking trails within walking distance. Dillon reservoir, also near by provides fishing opportunities as well as boating, windsurfing and additional walking & biking paths. Shop til you drop at the Silverthorne Outlets, just 6 miles away. Frisco is also known as the heart of Summit County because of its close proximity to the many surrounding ski resorts.

Enjoying this historic cabin in Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park

09/14/2010 - My arrival to Estes Park was nothing less than breath taking. I and my friends arrived at our Rocky Mountain Cabin, pleased to find that that it was close enough to walk to town, but still nicely tucked away and peaceful. The cabin was built by the Rocky Mountain National Park and is kept immaculate. It was well appointed, spacious with very comfortable furnishings, beautiful photography and a fully stocked kitchen.

After the cubs got settled we found that the owners had set us up with coffee for the morning so we did not need to rush to the store. The cabin has a flat screen TV with dish network, many books to read, DVD’s and a nice stereo system for the all to listen to music if we wished.

We also discovered that the owner is a photographer, and left us a wonderful 8 x 10 photograph that she had taken of the snow capped mountains. What a nice gift! I was able to bring a piece of Estes Park home with me.

The night skies were brightened with stars like we had never seen! Every evening we sat out on one of the three patio areas to star gaze and soak up the cool crisp mountain air. The back patio is equipped with a very nice grill to cook your meals.

The mornings were just as glorious as the nights. After making some coffee we walked from the cabin to do some downtown shopping and over to the Historical Stanley Hotel for a tour. Estes Park has several trails to hike or bike, as well as a number of lakes where you can feed the ducks or rent paddle boats to get out on the water. Keep an eye out for the Elk, they are everywhere.

Great mountain home in the heart of Rocky Mountain skiing!!

09/13/2010 - My recent travels took me to Granby, Colorado, a beautiful mountain town just outside of Winter Park and Sol Vista ski areas. I was fortunate to be able to stay in this lovely spacious home on the mountainside overlooking the Granby valley. The aspen trees were just barely starting to turn to fall colors. In just a week or two the golden aspen trees will be spectacular.

This mountain home has plenty of space for a large family or two to spread out. The upstairs has 4 bedrooms, 2 with bathrooms and 2 sharing a bathroom. The beds are plush and the comforters cozy, just right for a fall or winter evening. The walk-in closet in the master, has lots of room to store your luggage.

The main living area provides plenty of seating and a gas fire place to lend a warm atmosphere for evening gatherings. There’s also a pool table and electric dartboard near the entry. The kitchen was well supplied for entertaining and feeding a crowd. There were plenty of pots and pans, a blender, hand mixer, crock-pot and even a waffle maker! Our host even provides cookbooks so you can whip up your favorite treats.

The lower level provided a large area with table and chairs as well as 2 couches and a comfy oversized chair to watch videos or movies on the big flat screen TV. Great stay at this classic Victorian home in Castro District of San Francisco!

08/31/2010 - This classic Victorian home in the Castro District was the perfect “den” for our San Francisco getaway. Bear with the steps leading up to the entrance – the charming décor and modern furnishings are totally worth it!

Whip up a bowl of honey using the vintage style appliances in the fully-appointed kitchen, and enjoy a meal at the large dining room table in front of a Victorian fireplace. Step through the French doors, and warm your paws at the outdoor fireplace on a cool San Francisco night.

Our sleuth of bears took full advantage of the Castro area, enjoying local eateries, walking to nearby Market Street, venturing to the Mission, and taking in the views from the top of Dolores Park. Castro was also a great jumping off point to grab mass transportation to other well known areas. From fortune cookies in Chinatown to chowder at Fisherman’s Wharf, we were really able to take in all that San Francisco has to offer.

Enjoying the great kitchen in Upper East Side Manhattan NY Apartment

08/30/2010 - I love NYC!!! I recently traveled to New York, and had so much fun! However, not all of my stay in "The Sleepless City" was spent touring around the busy city. A major part of my stay was spent enjoying a place to come home to out of the occasional rain or warm summer temperatures.

Because having a place to come home to and relax was high on my list, I chose this lovely apartment in Manhattan. This ground floor apartment was cozy and comfortable. The owner was kind enough to leave a big map on the table along with a folder full of suggested activities.

When I checked in to this apartment, it was very late in the night, and so I was thrilled to see a nice fruit basket on the dining table and milk and breakfast items in the cupboards and refrigerator. The air conditioning was turned on to the perfect temperature. I could rest comfortably and not have to go out foraging for my breakfast early the next day.

I especially enjoyed the nice snuggly bed. There was a flat screen TV in each room with channels that a whole family could enjoy! All the rooms had air conditioning, and were cozy and equipped with everything from closet hangers to ironing boards. The owner was very thoughtful and considerate (not only providing breakfast items) but leaving umbrellas for guests to use during the rainy season of my visit. My favorite thing about the unit, was the nice little shared backyard space, which was a perfect place to sit and relax on a sunny day.

The subway stations are a few minutes’ walk from the apartment, and I made full use of the metro system that ran along Lexington, so I did not have to take the taxi.

Next time you are in New York, you should really check this place out!

My personal pacific paradise

08/30/2010 - You will absolutely love the serenity of this beach house in Seattle, which is located just steps from the water with nothing to obscure your picturesque view of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. The home is equipped to make every guest comfortable as each bedroom has access to its own bathroom as well as either a Jacuzzi tub or a steam room.

There is so much to do just minutes away from the home such as shopping, dining, or browsing the Farmers Market. Downtown Seattle, Pioneer Square, and Pikes Place Market are also a short drive from the home. If you’d like to see the very first Starbucks coffee shop, eat some delicious seafood near the harbor, or take an elevator to the top of the Space Needle to catch a great aerial view of the city, it’s all close by.

From the many sites to see in Seattle to the luxuries this home offers, you’re sure to have a great stay at this waterfront destination!

08/27/2010 - This was my first visit to Turks and Caicos and I am “beary” fortunate to have been invited to stay in one of the “beary” best villas on the entire island. Blue Mountain Villas is located just a quick 10 minute drive from the Providenciales Airport (PLS) and conveniently located toward the center of the island, which makes it easy to do excursions to any part of the island. The home has so many great features that it’s difficult to choose which ones to write about. Upon driving up to the home you can see the beautiful views of the azure waters right through the front door windows. The entire home is open and airy with stunning views from practically every room in the home.

The 4 King Master suites were definitely a plus when traveling with multiple couples, and the children’s bunk room is uniquely furnished with custom bunks that will comfortably sleep 6 cubs. One surprise aspect that we really appreciated about this home was the multi-zoned A/C units. It’s not a top-of-mind amenity that we seek, but if Goldilocks finds it a little “too hot” or a little “too cold,” you could set your own temperature to make it “just right.”

This home also offers full services which make for a unique first class vacation experience. We took advantage of the concierge and private chef who cooked us some delicious gourmet meals utilizing the professional kitchen this home offers. I would highly recommend this home and cannot wait to return.

Spacious patio with gas grill, outdoor seating and hot tub!

08/23/2010 - I always love going to Steamboat Springs, but staying at the “Gondula Run” house made my visit even better! This ski-in ski-out house is amazing. With 6 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms in this well appointed home, my “bear” family and friends had more than enough room to stretch out and relax.

This house is made up of 3 floors. The cubs loved the first floor with pool table, arcade games, computer and even a wet bar. The cubs could play and sleep on this floor with a very large bunk room and one queen bedroom. There is also a good-sized mud room located on this level with boot warmers, glove warmers and storage for those that are coming to ski.

The adults in our group especially enjoyed the main floor of this “beary” spacious home. The open floor plan combines the kitchen, dining and living area into a large open space, where our group was able to spend time together. We spent time relaxing in front of the 4 sided fire place in the living area, playing board games as well as several games of poker at the poker table. For wine aficionados, there is a wine room (for viewing only) with an extensive wine collection just off the dining room.

Also located on this floor is the very well equipped kitchen and 3 of the 6 bedrooms. This kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal, whether it is large or small. You’ll find 2 ovens, a large stove and 2 dish washers for a quick clean up!

If you prefer, you can cook outside on the grill located on the deck. The 8 person hot tub is out on the deck as well. We had a nice time relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of playing and exploring in Steamboat Springs.

The master bedroom on the third floor, has spectacular views. I enjoyed sitting in the window seat and looking out at the beautiful views of the valley below. In the master bathroom there is a large air Jacuzzi tub and a steam shower to enjoy after a long day on the slopes.

You will find everything you need at “Gondola Run” whether you visit in the summer months or the winter months or anywhere in between, this place has it all!

08/17/2010 - Greetings from Steamboat Springs, Colorado! When your travels bring you to this wonderful ski resort town, look no further than the Eagle Ridge Lodge for a delightful vacation. My accommodations were first class. I stayed in a charming, newly built townhouse with over 3,000 sq ft of gorgeous space. I was surrounded by luxury and beauty, including tasteful decor. Whether you’re looking for a cozy getaway with just a few bears, or in need of ample space for your large party of bears, this property is sure to satisfy all your desires!

At the Eagle Ridge Lodge, I found myself surrounded by ‘5 star hotel’ quality, yet with all the comforts of home. The Eagle Ridge Lodge takes obvious pride in making your stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. For a bear with fine taste like myself, I especially enjoyed all the little touches in the home and the great service provided. I had everything I needed for a perfect stay!

The distinct open floor plan on the main floor makes it easy to enjoy the company of other bear friends or family. With a gas stove, granite counter tops, and a wonderful serving bar (which doubles for extra seating), the kitchen provided all I needed for cooking and entertaining. The dining space has enough seating for everyone. If you love to grill, you’ll also enjoy the BBQ on the spacious patio overlooking the ski slopes.

Steamboat in the summer is a perfect time of year to enjoy all the town has to offer. There is the alpine slide, horseback riding, tubing town the Yampa River, the natural hot springs, hiking, biking, golf, 4 wheeling and kayaking (just to name a few). With a gorgeous view of the Ski slopes, this bear couldn’t help but think of all the winter fun I could have here too; snowmobiling, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, tubing, and so many more of my favorite winter activities can be enjoyed here too. Of course, if you’re here to ski, you’re going to be spoiled being so close to the slopes! I even heard that the ski shuttle picks up RIGHT outside the front door.

I sure did enjoy the swimming pool here at Eagle Ridge Lodge. No matter what time of year you visit, the fantastic, relaxing hot tub is going to be one of the highlights of your stay. The hot tub and pool are close enough to see from the property, yet far enough that you don’t hear any noise. Another lovely highlight of this property is the gas fireplace. Picture yourself snuggling up in front of the fire on a crisp day with a loved one or a good book.

I recommend that you visit the Eagle Ridge Lodge if you’re looking for a vacation that is enjoyable, peaceful, relaxing, and simply delightful. This property is all you could ask for in a mountain retreat.

Really enjoyed this 2 bedrm condo at Atlantis on Paradise Island in the Bahamas!

08/11/2010 - When we arrived at Sunrise Beach Villas, we were greeted by the pleasant staff in the main office. It was such a pleasure to meet friendly locals after a long day of traveling. We were also very relieved to learn that we would receive daily housekeeping service, since we bears tend to track in a lot of sand on our paws.

Once we checked into our condo, we were extremely pleased with the cleanliness, spaciousness and overall comfort. It was going to be a great home for our getaway.

After a brief 'paws,' we left to check out the two pools on the property, along with Viola’s Bar and Grill and the amazing beach with turquoise waters. And believe me – there is plenty going on. From jet skis to massages, I knew I was going to be a busy bear during this trip! We also enjoyed exploring the nearby Atlantis hotel and marina. Although it’s geared mostly toward families, they were very welcoming towards bears, too.

We could 'bearly' believe that our Paradise Island getaway had to come to an end, but we have a slew of memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Feels like paradise at this Bermuda Dunes, CA vacation estate w/spa like setting

08/10/2010 - Eureka - I found it! And what a find in the California desert: a beautiful oasis with a gorgeous mansion in the desert. This stunning Bermuda Dunes retreat has it all. The water features alone set this gem apart from other desert retreats.

When my traveling companions and I arrived, we were met by the property manager who lives nearby. Normally the owner or property manager will greet guests when they arrive and take them on a tour of the property. It was nice to have such hands-on guidance rather than reading through instruction manuals on how to operate the various amenities. The manager was very helpful and knowledgeable, taking time to answer our questions about the home and the surrounding area.

The home itself could certainly be anyone’s idea of a “dream house.” Spacious for entertaining, with a large kitchen and open living area, a surround sound entertainment system that you can plug your iPod into, play CDs or just listen to live radio. It can be played from speakers in all the rooms including outside with separate volume controls. Each bedroom is its own private retreat, with ensuite baths and flat-screen TVs. I enjoyed the master bedroom with blackout shades so I could do a little hibernating on my vacation. You can enjoy a sunlit morning bath in the large Jacuzzi tub – open the blinds and you’ll feel like you’re in a lovely garden paradise.

Outside is a spacious pavilion with a large built-in gas grill, refrigerator, bar and 2 flat-screen TVs. A picnic table, bar stools and lounge chairs provide plenty of seating in the pavilion. On one end of the pavilion is a putting green, complete with sand traps. On the other is a larger grass lawn for bocce games and sand pits for horseshoes. Just across the lawn is the 2 bedroom casita providing more privacy for additional guests.

The ‘river’ pool and spa is the centerpiece of this fabulous outdoor oasis. In fact, there’s also quite a light show at night as the pool can be lit up with multi-colored lights that change or stay the same – you decide. With 3 outdoor flat screen TVs, you won’t miss your favorite shows while relaxing poolside.

Unbelievable views at this Laguna Beach vacation house with 5 bedrooms and pool

08/06/2010 - This beautiful Laguna Beach home makes you feel like you’re high up in your own private tree house as you look out over the decks to the beaches below. From the decks off the kitchen and living area, to the master suite, you’ll have a 180 degree view of the coastline all the way from Dana Point on the south end to just beyond Laguna Beach at the north end.

When I first arrived at the top of the private gated community, my friends and I were met by the property manager, who graciously greets all his guests and takes them on a tour of the home, explaining the many amenities available. He also pointed out several points of interest from our hilltop retreat and restaurants we may want to sample.

The elevator makes it convenient to bring your bags up to the 2nd floor, where you’ll find 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms a game room/entertainment area complete with pool table that flips over to air hockey, a ping-pong table top to go over the pool table and a foosball table that turns over to mini pool and over again to a hockey table. There’s also an XBox with assorted games. Another sitting area off the game room can be closed off for an additional bedroom.

On the 3rd floor is the main living area, a large eat-in kitchen, dining room and master suite. You’ll enjoy the fireplace in the kitchen on a cool evening. The master suite also boasts a fireplace, sitting area and private deck. In this same wing of the house, you’ll find a wet bar with mini-fridge and an office with a deck and pool access. Oh did I forget to mention the pool? The best part is a beautiful lagoon-like pool and spa off the back deck. A gated screen that surrounds the pool and spa is provided for families staying with small children. In fact the house is very kid friendly with a gate for the stairway, a small table that can seat four small cubs and a high chair for baby bear.

The home is conveniently located at the top of Three Arch Bay, a private community with access to a spectacular private beach – you’ll feel like a celebrity. Treat yourself and your family to a beach get-away you won’t soon forget!

Ah! Great Destin Condo with two Master Bedrooms--and right on the beach!

08/06/2010 - When I arrived at this Maravilla condo, I was “beary” impressed with my new home for the next couple of nights. The unit was even more spacious than I expected with a very open floorplan and large balcony. The overall cleanliness and the comfortable appearance made me feel right at home. The beachy décor was some of the best I’ve seen – my favorite part was the bunk bed room with a flip flop theme.

Bear in mind that I had traveled for quite some time that day, and it was nice to arrive at such a welcoming home. The first thing we did upon arrival was take a stroll to nearby Pompano Joe’s, a delicious seafood joint within walking distance and right on the water. I even splurged on one of the best pina coladas I’ve ever had! We then came home to get some beauty rest in the very comfortable beds in preparation for the next day. After getting some much needed rest, it was great to wake up to the smell of eggs and bacon in our fully-equipped kitchen.

The location of Maravilla is perfect for enjoying all the Destin has to offer – shops, restaurants, kid (and cub!)-friendly entertainment, and of course, the beach! And at the end of a busy day, it was great to kick back on the balcony and enjoy the breeze or relax on the couch with my paws up. No matter the reason for your travels, you simply can’t deny the comfort and convenience of this condo.

Can't beat this Gaslamp area San Diego condo, w/Views of Petco Park and Coronado

08/05/2010 - What a treat this was for the bear, with so much to do and such a great apartment. The bear family could explore all the restaurants and activities that the historic Gaslamp District has to offer – and it was all right on our doorstep. While everything was within walking distance it was great to know that we had very convenient parking under the building where we could park our car that we used for some of our day trips to Balboa park, Coronado Island and Mission Beach. The Padres were playing during my stay, and I could hear the crowds cheering from the 20th floor balcony as we absorbed the spectacular views this property boasts.

The accommodation has all the amenities you would expect from an ultra modern apartment in downtown San Diego and was very tastefully decorated. Our hosts were very helpful in arranging keys, providing ideas for places to eat and making sure we had everything we needed.

Really great stay at vacation home between Aspen and Glenwood Springs!

08/05/2010 - My family and I found this home away from home to be absolutely stunning. From the spacious floor plan to the gorgeous kitchen and million dollar views of Mt. Sopris, we were as close to heaven as we could get.

The beautiful architectural and decorating details in every room made us feel like we were in a home fitting a king. No detail was left out of this home that has special touches in every room. The beds and quality bedding were so comfortable; hibernating was a piece of cake! Each bedroom has its own private bathroom and cozy robes were available for everyone - a nice touch of luxury for every member of the family.

The backyard was nothing short of spectacular. The patio with ample seating for everyone was very comfortable. The owner obviously enjoys gardening and the fruits of her labor were lovely. We enjoyed waving at the fishermen going by on the river, a few even had fish! The Jacuzzi provided a relaxing oasis in the evening. We did not want to leave!

The home’s location was very convenient and close to shopping in both Glenwood Springs and Aspen. There are so many activities all year round, you will surely find plenty to do - not that you are going to want to leave this fantastic home!

Great Maui condo with ocean views!

07/29/2010 - I just got back from a very relaxing vacation in Maui. I stayed at this beautiful condo in Kihei. Kihei is such a nice town - quiet and peaceful, yet lots of fun things to do within walking distance. There are plenty of shops and restaurants and even a club or two with live music for evening entertainment. There's a beach just steps across the road and many more within a very short drive. I swam on the beach and snorkeled, and relaxed by the very nice pools that the condo community has to offer.

Maui is a gorgeous island and this condo is centrally located in Kihei so that you have quick and easy access to things like helicopter rides or driving up the volcano for the incredible views of the island. I highly recommend the helicopter ride. It was the best! You are also a very short drive away from Maalaea where you can catch a sunset cruise, deep sea fishing or snorkeling cruises.

The unit itself is nicely decorated with local island flair. It has everything you need to have fun on the beach, including beach chairs, snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach mats and towels. It's situated at the front of the complex facing the ocean so you have an amazing view. I spent time out on the lanai just watching the ocean and relaxing.

The owner was gracious and helpful. He even provided a book in the condo with restaurant menus and recommendations as well as activities to help you plan a great time while you're here.

I highly recommend Maui for your next vacation and this condo is the place you want to stay in Kihei when you go!
