"What a Gem - Great convenient location, walk to all the conveniences. We didn't even need our car. Walk to the private beach, Hyatt, and restaurants. The townhouse was just perfect for our family even had a play area outside of the kitchen doors. The unit is very well equipped and maintained. The owner is very cooperative in answering questions and made it a very pleasant experience. The only negative was the TV operation but I am sure they can explain how the remote works or most men can figure it out. Would definitely recommend this one and we look forward to returning."

  • The Perfect Mountain Getaway

"The description of this place does not do it justice. We had family coming in from out of town and not enough room to accommodate everyone so we rented Hemlock Hollow in early March. The house is amazing. It has dozens of unique details that make it very special and there is plenty of room to stretch out. The outdoor fireplace and sleeping cabin are short walks from the house and the stream is just a little farther. The bridge connects to other hiking paths including one that leads to ruins from an old bridge. Nature lovers will be very excited about both the trails, outdoor fireplace and sleeping cabin! All the bedrooms have their own bathrooms and each one is different. The showers have adjustable shower heads to accommodate young ones too. Lots of care was taken to provide a variety of games, books etc. for those on an extended stay. This also makes it an excellent place to stay all year round. The kitchen has plenty of room for several cooks to work at once and not get in each others way. The downstairs living area is very large and would make a great place for movie night."

  • Wonderful

"Day 2...our first morning here, my husband and I took our coffee to the lanai and watched the sunrise over Haleakala. Mother whale and calf resting in the bay not too far out. Baby whale is up from its nap and boom, three breaches. Welcome to vacation! This is our sixth visit to Maalaea, and this unit and complex is by far the best we have rented. The pictures do not do the inside of the unit justice. I love - oh sorry distracted another breach at 5:45 pm right in front of us - I love how this condo is decorated. I am more of a safe traditional kind of 'decorator' and the wasn't sure about the bright colors. But it is awesome. Metallic silver doors and wide wood plank floors and the art is great. Someone used all of the interior paint colors on canvas and then used shells to highlight. Ingenious. Super fun vacation colors. The place is very clean and the property manager was a great communicator, something we have grown to appreciate with vrbo. Love that there is a washer/dryer right in the condo so we don't have to use the complex laundromat. Beds are comfortable and linens are in good shape. Waves are a little loud at night. Between that and my husband's snoring I ended up in the downstairs bedroom. Bring earplugs. BBQ area looks to be a fun gathering area as I type. The only thing I can complain about if forced is the unit is mostly stripped of basic spices and condiments except salt/pepper, a small amount of canola oil. We've rented more than a dozen vrbo units and they usually have a little collection of ketchup/hot sauce, etc in the fridge and spices, etc in the pantry. This fridge is totally empty except for a couple bottles of water (which were appreciated upon arrival). So plan accordingly if you grocery shop before you check in. Mahalo! We will be back!"
