  • Beautifully remodelled spacious condo with breathtaking views

"We stayed 5 nights in this condo with our 11 month old. The kitchen and both bathrooms had just been remodelled and looks beautiful! The kitchen appliances, benchtops, sink, tap etc were sparkling new. It was spacious and looks so much better than our home! Both bathrooms also looks nice with the new renovation. Having our own washing machine and dryer was definitely a plus! The view was wonderful, and the staff esp conceirge Nathan were very friendly. There were ponds on the grounds with carps, beautifully tendered garden. We ate breakfast on the balcony every morning. The condo is right next to the The Whaler village and was very convenient. Would definitely stay here again."

  • Immaculately clean; Exceptional host/hostess

"This property is so immaculately clean that the entire inside looks new. The kitchen was fully stocked and even included a tea maker. There was a bottle of wine, crackers and cheeses waiting for us. We were late arriving and hadn't stopped to pick up food for dinner, so I called and asked Felicia where we could stop to get either a prepared meal or food to prepare our own. She said nothing was open late within 30 miles, but she generously offered us burgers and hot dogs from her own freezer!! When we arrived, not only were the meats there, but she had supplied condiments even including tomato, onions and pickles! THEN, as if that weren't above and beyond, she had left side dishes for us as well! The deck is huge and includes 2 picnic tables, so we grilled our dinner and sat outside just enjoying the quiet and beauty. Al and Felicia had also left us a small turkey and cheese tray, which we packed and took with us for a picnic lunch at Lassen Volcanic Park (only about 10 minutes away). Bring your food with you because there are no grocery stores here (only small camp-type stores). It is a beautiful area, better because there is little commercialism. Also nearby, about 2 miles, are lava tubes that can be independently explored by flashlight like a cave. Al and Felicia recommended JJ Café, only about a mile away, for breakfast. Breakfast was delicious--homemade fried potatoes, bakery or homemade bread for toast. There is no internet, but our hosts left a supply of DVDs for evening entertainment. The showers were great--each of us showered every morning one right after the other and did not run out of hot water. The beds are very firm. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. My adult son and daughter spoke of Felicia as "like having a grandmother who pampers us.""

  • Exceptional Getaway Experience!!!

"We absolutely loved our extended weekend away. It was such an incredible time and the Penthouse was the "cherry-on-the-top". I had the chance to spend a girls weekend away this past fall there and it was so perfect that I snatched up the opportunity to head down there for my 20th Anniversary with my husband and teenage boys. They were blown away. There are just so many things to rave about. The owners have made sure that the apartment been well stocked with everything you need. The kitchen is not only beautiful but has everything you could need to create great meals. My husband and I are a bit of coffee junkies and we were tickled to find not only a coffee maker but an espresso machine and stovetop press. There are books, videos, games for entertainment and the views and facilities of the condo are outstanding. It is only a short walk away from the public beach which boasts outdoor tennis, basketball and beach volleyball courts (perfect for my teenaged boys). Downtown Sandpoint is also easy to wallk over to and this cute little town has great shops to wander through, fabulous antique stores, great pubs, coffee shops and a wide range of restaurants to choose from. There is so much that is within driving distance as well. I highly recommend taking a chance to stay, you will hopefully fall in love with it like we all have. I can't wait to visit again!"

  • Good Value

"My husband and I are from Canada and stayed here in August 2014. All the reviews written are accurate depictions of the cottage, which is a quite a private add on to the back of their garage. Positive comments first: Good value for the price. Hosts are kind, thoughtful, friendly and very helpful with as much or as little interaction as you want. Quiet, peaceful, private setting. Snorkels, wave boards, beach chairs and mats a plenty. Good sized fruit basket upon arrival as well as pastry for first morning and quality fruit preserves which lasted the week. Washer-dryer was great. Back private deck and lounge chairs. Kitchen has full fridge, micro, coffee maker and hot plate. Cooking items and dishes well stocked. Comfortable bed. Nice tiled shower. 5 minute walk to the beach path. Clean quiet beach with Hawaii's aqua marine clear water. Plenty of water sports to watch and participate in if desired: kite boarding, surf sailing, long Hawaiian canoe races, kayaking, etc. Beautiful breezes. Hosts friendly and accommodating in every way. They take credit card for payment. Negative aspects: floor tiles worn and cracked in places, but serviceable and clean. Kitchen cupboards were not clean and dishes and utensils not too clean (probably from infrequent use). As stated by others, washer-dryer are in garage and garage is quite messy. There are sky lights into the room which make the room nice and bright, but when the sun is out in full, a lot of heat comes in and you can't get away from the heat as there is no air conditioning: there is no way to shade the sky lights. But the price can't be beat, and we think the negative aspects can be overlooked because of the positive points."
