  • Wonderful stay on our favorite beach!

"First let me say Teresa is the best to work with! She was very kind, responded quickly to emails and was a blessing to deal with. When we entered the unit we were greeted by the curtains pulled back to expose the sliding glass door which of course lent itself to the gorgeous view of Madeira Beach and the Gulf of Mexico, if you have never seen that sight, it is breathtaking. Overall this is a great unit. We have rented condos in this area for the last 5 years and overall this was probably our favorite. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The master bedroom as well as the 2nd bedroom are nice sizes. The master has a sliding glass door that goes out to the balcony which of course overlooks the Gulf. The living area has comfortable furniture and a large flat screen tv. There are also books, games and menus in the condo. The beds were all comfortable, but I would suggest either buying or bringing your own pillows. All 5 of us at some point had stiff necks and I even found my husband one night sleeping in the recliner in the living room because his neck couldn't take the pillows anymore. But then there is the balcony, can I tell you I LOVE the balcony!!! First of all it's wider than most and it's long as well. The balcony has a very comfortable table that seats 6 as well as 2 lounge chairs and a drying rack. We spent a lot of time out there eating meals, watching the dolphins and being enjoying the sunsets. The pool is wonderful as is the hot tub. There is a maintenance guy on sight and he cleaned the pool area every day, it was spotless. In the garage there is an area where people can leave or borrow pool toys, tubes and sand toys. The office ladies are the sweetest most helpful ladies you'll ever meet. As for the negatives, the sliding glass door is small compared to the wall it's on, however, that is a building issue not owner. One night we went out onto the beach and when we got back we found the gate had been padlocked even though there is a code you have to put in to open the gate. We had to walk about 5 buildings down and cut through another property to get back. This should be communicated by the office when you check in, as it was very frustrating. But really those issues are small in comparison to all this unit/building has to offer. The outside space is 2nd to none and the condo was very clean (and I'm very picky). I would stay here again in a heartbeat!!! I would definately recommend this unit to a friend."

  • Fantastic!!

"The owner was quick to respond To any questions we had and the welcome basket was a nice touch! We absolutely loved this place for the price. Location was fantastic. The pool was the perfect temperature and a nice break from the beach, we practically had it to ourselves the whole time. The shower was a little dirty, that would be my only complaint. We would come back in a heartbeat!!! Bummed that it is already booked for the month of March, 2016."

"After spending a week at the Pink Palace, I must say the owners description or photos of this property does not do it justice in any way. The moment you walk up the steps to the double glass doors and see the stairway and chandelier it is breathtaking! The magnificent views of the Gulf are amazing and that is from the living room, dining room and kitchen. Not only did we see dolphins playing out in the Gulf one morning but the same afternoon as well. (I was beginning to think the owners had these creatures trained to put on a show for us!) The master bedroom and bath area are enormous as is the walk in master closet with custom shelving and built in drawers. I had expected the kitchen to be equipped with the basics but this chefs kitchen had everything you could think of. The downstairs bedroom worked perfectly for our parents who have physical limitations with stairs. To have the convenience of a private pool overlooking basically a private beach is an experience everyone needs to enjoy. Especially walking directly from pool/beach to inside your home rather than walk thru a lobby, wait for an elevator and listen to noisy neighbors, etc is an awesome thing. As exquisite as this home is, you still have a very "homey" vibe. It is a quiet, relaxing, tranquil place. The shell life on this part of the beach is also amazing. Words cannot describe how truly beautiful this home and views are. I am so grateful for the owners to share this wonderful property with the public. The cleanliness was impeccable and the cleaning crew are to be commended for the work. The property manager Joanie made us feel welcome from the first moment and was excellent at explaining and showing us every aspect of this home. The owner Joe is also very personable and I felt his concern for us to enjoy the home and our time there was genuine. (Watch out Joe, I may become a squatter at this home!) I would recommend this home for any age group or any size family. The only regret I have is that the week went by too quickly. Also, the Columbia Cuban Restaurant is less than a mile north and is wonderful as is a local diner Maggie Mae's."

Florida Central West Travel Tips

Central West Florida’s beaches in this region have an awesome advantage over those on the east side of the state: their Gulf waters are typically calmer and warmer than those on than the Atlantic Ocean side. Here are the top attractions and sights in Central West Florida:

Tampa

Tampa is an excellent place to vacation for both families and couples alike. Here are some of the top things to do and see:

- Tampa is the perfect spot for any animal lover. Head to the small but impressive Lowry Park Zoo, see lions, tigers and other cats at the Big Cat Rescue and check out the endangered gentle giants of the sea at the Tampa Electric Manatee Viewing Center, which is free of charge. There’s also the gorgeous Florida Aquarium on the edge of downtown Tampa, which houses more than 20,000 animals and plants. Make sure to set aside at least three hours here to see it all!

- For adventure, take a trip to Busch Gardens, which combines Seaworld and other animal exhibits with safari-themed rides. It’s the ultimate family theme park, and many people opt to spend more than one day here. Just across the street from Busch Gardens is Adventure Island, which boasts 30 splendid acres of water rides and pools. Another must-visit if you have the time is Dinosaur World, which is just a 25-minute drive east to Plant City. Here, these prehistoric beasts come to life in a large park and play area, where kids can also take part in a fossil dig.

- Tampa also prides itself on its excellent museums, including the Museum of Science and Industry, housed in an other-worldly building, and the Tampa Museum of Art, which has some great kid-friendly exhibits.

- Adults will love the Henry B. Plant Museum, which is housed in the 1891 Tampa Bay hotel and tells a wonderful story of the Victorian era, with gorgeous antiques in an ornate building. There’s also the antique Tampa Theatre for movies, Lettuce Lake State Park, the Tampa Bay History Center and The David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts.

- Of course, the beaches here are top notch, but don’t miss the lovely Fort De Soto Park’s beach, with an interesting war-time history.

St. Petersburg/Clearwater

St. Petersburg is just southwest of Tampa on the bayside, while Clearwater lies straight west. This area offers award-winning beaches, excellent museums and other perfect amenities for your Florida vacation. Here are some of the best things to do and see in the St. Petersburg and Clearwater areas:

- It’s a rare occasion when St. Petersburg isn’t sunny, so head to some of Florida’s most amazing beaches. St. Pete Beach has been called one of the best in the country. Spend the day on its frosty white beaches, keep an eye out for dolphins and grab lunch at Frenchy’s or The Hurricane restaurants.

- Check out the collection of 50,000 tropical plants on a whopping 4 acres at the lovely Sunken Gardens in the heart of St. Petersburg.

- Take a stroll on The Pier, where you can shop for souvenirs and take a catamaran tour. It’s especially beautiful at night.

- If you can handle a day or morning away from the beach, explore the 245 acres of pure nature at the Boyd Hill Nature Preserve.

- Appreciate the work of a creative genius at the Salvador Dali Museum, which boasts the largest collection of his work outside of Europe. You’ll recognize his tell-tale Surrealist style right away.

- See Winter, the famous dolphin who lost her entire tail in a crab trap when she was only three months old. She learned to adapt and is currently a big celebrity at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

- Hang out on beautiful Clearwater Beach and take a stroll or picnic in Philippe Park in

Clearwater.

Sarasota

Sarasota is about a 45-minute drive south of St. Petersburg. It’s a wonderful place for a Gulf Coast beach trip. Here are the top things to do:

- Siesta Key Beach is known as one of the best in the country. The sand is powdery and glistening and the water is often a deep, gorgeous emerald. It’s perfect for families, as it’s one of the few beaches in the area that doesn’t allow smoking. Also, the gulf waters are warm and calm, so kids can play freely here, and you might even see some frolicking dolphins, adding to Siesta Key Beach’s picture-perfect ambience. If you dare, go parasailing with Siesta Key Parasail & Jetski for a thrilling ride and unmatched views from above.

- Immerse yourself in nature at the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, the Sarasota Jungle Gardens and the Mote Marine Laboratory.

- Appreciate the arts at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, housed in an ornate structure, and the palm-shrouded, Mission-style Sarasota Opera House.
